I have a 1998 Camry given to me by my father in law which he bought new. I keep saying this is the year that I am going to buy a new car but being the practical person I am, cannot justify another car if the current one is still working fine. I blame RB service station for this, since they have kept my car running in tip top shape for the last 8 years. The maintenance and repairs are minimal every year and I am very thankful that I have an honest mechanic. Even since moving to Valley Stream, I still take my car to RB for any service no matter how minor. It is very unfortunate that the other reviews here do not understand the NYS inspection process. A good honest repair shop cannot pass a car if there are safety issues. I am very happy that this shop sticks to the law so in the end we are all safer. Absolutely awful. Did more damage than repair. Among many things, they didn't replace the air filter nor the wheel bearings but charged for it. Roger is an absolute their and chauvinistic scumbag. read more

Tuesday I found myself in a bind. It was 4:15, I had somewhere to be at 6, at least an hours worth of traffic ahead of me, and a huge screw in my tire. After a quick Google search I found that R B Service Stations was the closest service station to my location. I gave them a quick call to see if they could help me, and they told me to come on by. They were able to take my car immediately, and they got straight to work. They invited me inside and let me sit down in their office while I waited. I didn't have to wait long, because the whole process was about 10 minutes. They charged me $10 for the plug in my tire and I was on my way. Definitely a quick and efficient service to get me on my way. Normally, this would be a 4 star experience, but I'm taking a star off of my review because of the conversation the guys were having while I was in the room. They were saying some pretty offensive stuff about certain groups of people that I didn't find appropriate to be discussing--not only in general--but while you have a customer whose background you don't know in front of you. read more

While my car was on the lift being inspected the guy tells me that there is tax on inspections which I knew was a lie but didn't dispute it because I didn't want them to damage anything to spite me, so I just paid the $3. Then I had bought my own wiper blades but one was the wrong size so I had to buy one of theirs for $30.00 and he charged me $15.00 to put it on. That's a ripoff and the wipers weren't good quality like the michelin all weather ones that I had bought. I wouldn't recommend this place and I would never go there again. read more

This repair shop is very bad, I would not recommend this repair shop to anyone, unless you want to get scammed and charged the highest price for anytype of repair. they act very unproffesional, the owner always gives very high estimates and tries to also make money on the parts he orders for cheap after market. This owner is the worst I have ever experienced. He lies about most things he says. He installed a rebuilt alternator and charged more than a factory new one. Anyone who goes here will be over charged on everything. If you come for the annual $37 inspection, your going to leave with a very big bill. Roger will try to sell you repairs you may not even need. I had a Hyundai for 10 years - for 10 years I brought that car to Roger. I never once doubted any repair he did and I never once had an issue with any repair. Thats the most important thing. The fact is that in additon to quality work at a reasonable price Roger and his mechanics are also pretty cooperative and helpful. I would bring my car there - never had an appt - never had to call in advance - and when it was ready - and it was always ready quickly I would just go get it. I bought a new car and started using the dealer because I figured that was important to do - the first service I had they messed something up and I had to go back- I had to drive there TWICE with an appt at 7 in the morning and wait all day. As my new car is starting to age a bit I am going back to Roger. My car broke down on the Van Wyck Expressway. I called Roger and he immediately jumped into action. He towed me back to his shop a mile away and made emergency repairs. Run fast!!!!! I went to him when I was in a bind. My car broke down and a tow truck brought my vehicle to the nearest repair shop around my residence. Unfortunately, my car ended up here. I went the next day to speak to the mechanic who advised I need two parts. No problem. I look up the two parts online, together no more than $150, he wants to charge me almost $600 for parts and labor!!!! Insane!! I advised that the parts are just $150 and he "reduces" the price to $480. At this point, he is pulling numbers out of thin air but my car would have to be towed out and I had no choice. Coughed up the money and a week later the same problem!!!!! I got to him and he wants another $200!!! I already knew the guy was funny but now he feels that I should pay more after he allegedly diagnosed it the first time and took care of everything. I ended up taking it to another mechanic who advised that the EVAP control valve was unplugged. He plugged it right back in for free as nothing had to be done. Roger (owner) is easy to deal with, and has taken my car each time without an appointment. Repairs are done quickly and well. Prices are reasonable and fair. Roger is a complete crook. Went for inspection with a perfect car, he suddenly found things that needs replacement. He will always find things not to pass inspection and charge you. The 1st few times you come there he is all chummy, charming and friendly. Then I guess after a while he thinks your are ready for the money grab, he will find things wrong with your car, and then as others posted, you will have more and more things wrong with your car. I brought my car here because Roger came highly recommended by Mickel. I was doubtful at first because of far Queens location but as soon as I got there Bert took care of me. Roger is a smooth talking, sweet, and honest man. You can tell from his accent he has no time for games and he just want me to be safe and comfortable. I met a lot of crooked people who just want my money. Roger is a professional who will give you his honest opinion even if it means losing money and business. Take his advice with a grain of salt. The place is a small gas station type of set-up with two car lifts. His team is pretty good. I am highly recommending this place because of the professionalism and quality of service I got. Ironically I had the same issue as the previous poster but was not as educated as he was so it has cost me. I agreed to have the brake pads replaced which I was told needed to be to pass inspection. Then I received another call to tell me that the pads were replaced but now the rotors are grinding and both rotors need to be replaced. Bottom line if you want more problems with your car than you had when you brought it in then go to RB....but you will be ripped off!! read more

My 16 yr old Camry is still kicking (purchased new) because of the timely and reasonably priced service that RB offers. I recommend RB to my friends n family, Petboys to all others. Went there for annual NYS vehicle safety inspection. They proceeded to take my car on the lift and visually inspect various suspension and chassis elements. Then they took the car down and told me they need a wheel lock key (I could barely understand the guy with heavy accent) because they need to check thickness of brake pads. They told me rear is good but they need to check the front. After telling them that brake pad liners are visible from outside the wheel on my car, they guy said they have to be at least 1/16 of an inch and he needs to take a wheel off to inspect them. I told him he is wrong because they NYS law only talks about liner thickness on drum brakes, while my car is equipped with disc brakes on 4 of my wheels. I said I am aware of how much brake pads is left on my car (over 3mm since my car went through a multi-point inspection at the dealer recently) and it would be a waste to change them now. Then he proceeded to look at my front brake liners, mumbles something to his coworker and informs me that his computer system is off and can't do inspection. read more
