Yikes. When you have bus boys that call your table "annoying". We will never come back. The same kid that was rude to us was rude and mentioned by name from a different stranger I had met. While I appreciate that this place hired a younger crowd, some are not mature enough to work here. The bus boy that literally called us annoying was Ashton. My friend was so embarrassed. We've been here 5 times in 2 months, but that will undoubtedly be the last. Not to mention, our first time, the young staff in the golf shop was rude as well. We wanted some info on lessons/renting a golf cart. Anyway, too bad. I hope the rest of you aren't treated this way. read more

Have usually had pretty decent meals at The Highlander. However, was extremely disappointed with their new Wreck Burger. This $18 burger is slated to come with American cheese and wreck sauce (nothing else). This could barely be considered sauce in my opinion and without looking for it I would never have known it was there. Considering the price tag and that the only topping was MIA wreck sauce, stick to their other burger offerings. read more

The Highlander generally has pretty good food and the patio is fantastic, but the service is almost always subpar. Long waits in-between seeing server and just slow. When combined with the higher prices it's difficult to choose Highlander over similar quality, or better, food in MG. read more

Food was very good, well seasoned, relatively interesting for this kind of place, perfectly prepared. Patio is fantastic and servers are polite. They had a tough service night. Water came right away, but single bar drink took 30 minutes and server had to be reminded. 30 minutes to order and food took another 45+ (which isn't great but not terrible) before all the food was at the table. Half food came out 10 minutes apart. Server was apologetic but kind of said it was the kitchen. At one point a cook/chef brought food and waters to a neighboring table. I like a good leisurely dinner and the sun setting and patio are delightful, but drinks delivered and appropriate food delivery would have made this a near perfect night. Seemed like each server just had too many tables for effective service. We'll be back (too close and too good to not sit on that excellent patio). Next time we have our fingers crossed for a little prompter service. read more

it's a beautiful location, with a lovely patio. fairly typical Restaurant menu, the Salmon BLT looked great but I didn't notice it was Canadian bacon. it was so thin sliced it was barely there. regular bacon would be much better. service was slow. we asked twice about when our food was coming. servers response to every order was something like, "no problem". what happened to thank you ? a wine list would be nice so you can read it over and decide. read more

Ok, the name of the restaurant at this place is the Highlander Pub and Restaurant. It's located off the beaten path from Minneapolis, but it also serves the absolute best steak in the area at a far more reasonable price than say, Manny's. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer an 18oz prime rib for around 22 dollars, and that comes with soup, salad, your choice of potato, and some seasonal veggies. You may ask, what's the big deal? There are other places that do that too. Well, Highlander prepares the prime rib with a smoker, which gives it a melt-in-your-mouth texture and an incredible flavor. Definitely check it out if you get the chance. The waitress kind of rushed us. Our reservation was at 8pm and she was anxious to get us out of restaurant. Aside from that, we had a pretty good time here. read more

In person the food and service is pretty good. I would NOT recommend doing their takeout. They do not have a quality check in place to ensure that all items are accounted for in your order. We've done takeout twice in 2 months and they have messed it up both times. read more

Love Highlander Grill. The employees are fantastic, the atmosphere is cozy in the winter and amazing in the summer. They have a wonderful deck. My only complaint is that as a vegetarian they don't have entrees for us. All they have is vege tacos. Would love them to get a beyond or impossible option. read more

I come here for one food item and that's it. The Wings. What? Wings? Featured item? No. It's in the middle of the menu. Just wings. Nothing fancy in the name. But man is it ever good. It's the best in the cities. I travel from Lakeville to Maple Grove just to have it. Infused with Butter? Take my money now. Add the special sauce they have and it's the most flavorful wings I've tasted. BW3? Applebees? Hooters? Jakes? None of these can claim better wings. read more

Super disappointing start to the season. In definite need if staff training. What no food for golfers today? Was told the kitchen was closed. Asked about the mothers day brunch going on only to be told well the kitchen is only open for mothers day. Asked about the sign on the bar, sandwich, hotdogs and brats....only to be told, at 11:45 am...we have one hotdog left....wish I Would've eaten before I got here. Ordered 6 cans of beer for the course...can I possibly get a bag to carry these out to my cart? Wow! Then highlander was amazingly serving food after we played....thought the kitchen was closed today? Order a beer and the pita plate....never saw my server again....had to ask someone else for the check...water maybe?? Sad read more

On Friday, May 7th, my family had one of the worst dining experiences ever at this restaurant. We had reservations for a party of 9 at 6:00 p.m. We arrived at about 6:10 and were seated right away. That was the extent of the good service. It took at least 1/2 hour for anyone to to take our orders for drinks. It was then another 20 minutes or so before the waitress came to take our meal orders. Since Prime Rib was listed as a specialty for Friday at least 6 of us ordered that. At about 7:30 - at least a half hour after ordering, the waitress came to the table and said that they had run out of the prime rib. She apologized and offered a round of free drinks. We ordered our alternate selections (mostly steaks) and waited. And waited. After the free drinks failed to appear, we asked a waitress walking by about them and she was surprised they hadn't been delivered. We finally got out food a little after 8:00. The steaks were all over cooked and leathery, the potatoes were bland. All in all, a terrible meal. We did not order coffee or dessert, it wasn't worth the risk and it wasn't offered. At no time did anyone identifying themselves as a manager apologize or offer any sort of explanation for the poor service. The closest we got was a clearly harried waitress who told us the chef was having a meltdown. Really, this was a dining nightmare. read more

My review is based on a one time event w/ a set meal. We booked a large table for New Years Eve (16 pppl) they offered a 4 course meal for $49. The ambiance was nice by far the youngest there (late 20's, early 30's). THe first course was shrimp cocktail and could have been a meal. Second was soup but looked like mashed potatoes, order the Bone in Tenderloin which was really fatty so a disapointment but recovered by the great dessert. All in all not a bad deal, didn't have to fight the crowds or deal w/ one big check as you pre-pay. A-ok, not outta this world...would I go back. Visted the restaurant last night with about 10 ladies for a goodbye get together. Good thing: patio is beautiful with a great view. Bad things: Where do I start? Our server was so clueless it was shocking. Asked about certain beers and his answer was "I don't know, I'm 20." Asked how a certain dish was "I'm not sure" our meals all came out 5-10 minutes apart so from start to finish about 45 minutes until the last person (who happened to be the guest of honor) got her meal. Not once were we asked how our meals were. Super disappointing. He also assigned us all "numbers" so we could keep our checks straight and when I forgot which number I was my tab was completely messed up. He charged me for someone elses tab and I asked him to void it and just redo the charge and he was utterly confused and told me it's "probably only a two dollar difference". For the area and restaurant we all agreed the staff should be more knowledgeable and capable. Surprisingly bad bad experience. read more

My expectations of a golf course restaurant were not very high, but the Apple Brie Burger could be one of the best burgers I have ever had. We had the carrot cake for dessert and i don't know which one I liked better between the burger and the cake. read more

Had a really good experaince with a group on the deck last Sunday. We had a group of 8 for dinner. Service was fast and food was great. The view of the course from the patio is second to none. The new bar is really nice and has a great feel. read more
