Medium Buffalo chicken and Medium Margarita Pizza
    Pablo A.

Ordered a medium Buffalo Chicken and medium Margarita Pizza with a side of garlic knots. They look better than they taste. I did not particularly like either of the pizzas but they were satiating. The Buffalo chicken was mostly cheese and chicken not enough buffalo. The Margarita was not great either. Did like the garlic knots but the tomato sauce they came with was kind of a step down. There is far better pizza in the area that you could get for the same price. Maybe try Rhythm or Crispy.

Was craving my fave... PIZZA!!! I ordered a small plain pizza and garden salad because I wanted to balance out the carbs with some veggies. The salad was your typical garden salad but was a great size foe the price and the veggies were fresh I also appreciated that they provided 2 cups of dressing. Thank you!!! My only issue was the sauce. I like some flavor to the sauce. Let me taste that oregano and whatever else. The sauce was bland and barely present. The crust was great, the size of the pie was perfect but it felt like I was having a breadstick rather than a slice. I might give them another shot. It's unclear at this point.

I'm always looking for some vegan options anywhere I can get it!! I was not expecting R-U Grill & Pizza to have vegan options! I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. It was exactly what I was craving and it hit the spot in every way. The food was so delicious and made me feel so satisfied. I definitely recommend R-U if you're in the area and want some vegan deliciousness. (Veganized is the ultimate NB spot obvi!) Yum!!!!

Probably my favorite spot for fat sandwiches. Open late, so good if you're hungry after the parties or bars. A bit overpriced in my opinion, and they charge a fee for credit cards transactions. I do recommend though Probablemente mi lugar favorito para sándwiches gordos. Abierto hasta tarde, muy bueno si tienes hambre después de las fiestas o bares. Un poco caro en mi opinión, y cobran una tarifa por transacciones con tarjetas de crédito. Igual lo recomiendo

Ugh man does this place bring back memories. Back in my day, my friends and I would drive to new Brunswick and hit up the grease truck and dive into a fat bitch on a regular basis. Since the truck is gone i haven't had a fat sandwich in a long while. Making my way into NB this past weekend, we popped in to R-U grill for a late night i drank too much snack and ooooh boy. Hit the jackpot with the veggie cat. Felt like I was a college kid all over again eatting shitty but delicious food at 1 am. Sadly the next morning my college bounce back liver and stomach didn't come forward and impress me like my veggie cat but it was worth the nostalgia.

Plain Pizza and Jamaican meat pie

Pizza Crawl entry numero cuatro, R-U Grill & Pizza. R-U was the point of which my companions ceased their journeys into sampling the Pizza wares of Easton ave- Two plain slices and one chicken bacon ranch for the three amigos. I lucked out with my chicken bacon ranch, it had some moisture to it to make up for the lack of sauce, the plain slices my buds grabbed, not so much. One of them couldn't, er, didn't want to finish their's so i wound up with the rest of it, and i can honestly see why. Pizza here has little to no sauce, and what /would/ be average cheese, if not for getting dried out hardcore during the baking process, somehow the bread manages to not get burnt, but does become mummified- liek a stale piece of stroehmann's bread, but with less flavor. Put it all together and you get a train-wreck of a plain slice. Ditto the above for the bacon chicken ranch, except there are a few survivor's on board, thanks to the miracle of ranch and bacon, between the bacon grease and ranch there's enough moisture to prevent the pizza from being dried out, and enough flavor to make the slice edible. Don't know if it was a bad night that Saturday, or if this is par for the course......But, I've reheated my own left over Digiorno slices and had them turn out better than my slices here. Digiorno would be cheaper as well, my chicken bacon ranch came out over 3.75 after the usual up-charge for using a card. R-U was a terrible value proposition, and bad food. Dispite this it wasn't inedible, or, at least my chicken bacon ranch wasn't, and even if it were it wouldn't be the worst on Easton ave. I've been here twice with groups of 6. We've ordered everything from the burgers, to the chicken sandwiches and fish and chips. I ordered a Chicken Caprese sandwich and I enjoyed it the first time. The 2nd time I ordered the Veggie Wrap which I decided to turn into a sandwich. That didn't work so well. The burgers were good too. The items all had the option of fries or salad. All the food was good, except the fish and chips was batter and very little fish. The old school ambiance is really nice. The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs dining area, each with its own bar. If in the area for a show, Tavern on the George has it down to a science getting all the groups in and out in time. Although, the food is nothing special, I'd come here again.

Even with a dozen people on Saturday night, we managed to get seated. With the wide variety of menu choices, everyone was able to get exactly what they wanted. One very interesting dish I hadn't thought of was the chicken pot pie, which sounds very pedestrian, but wait until you see it. Amazing. I ordered the Ahi Tuna salad and it tasted every bit as good as it's picture-perfect looks. Superb service, plus literally everything that came to the table looked like a magazine picture. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Over time, I've noticed a clear decline in quality at the New Brunswick location. In contrast, the Hillsborough location has remained relatively consistent, which makes the difference even more noticeable. To be fair, I'm willing to give a pass on the slower service during this visit since we were seated outside and it seemed like they may not have been fully staffed for that area. That said, the bigger issue was the food. We ordered ravioli and chicken parm with pasta. The ravioli sauce was extremely watery, to the point where it resembled soup rather than a proper sauce. The chicken parm was overcooked, as was the pasta. It's disappointing to say, but based on this experience and the overall downward trend, I don't see myself returning to this location anytime soon.

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.

I don't know if this is the case for the entire restaurant, but the downstairs had bouncy ukulele covers for the entirety of our time there. It was also a bit too loud. I felt like I had to get up to hear someone sitting a few people away from me, or speak too loud to for shared space because there's a bouncy ukulele covers of Without You by The Kid LAROI.
