yelp took a review down, this was my experience, and i am relaying it again for the second time. i went to this guy based on the reviews at first I thought he was honest A good basic oil change that turned out OK more complex engine work done. I was quoted one price and he charge me more I gave him the benefit r the doubt. Next service , my car needs a new fan h( asked me what parts to use and he put the more expensive parts even though I told hl'm not to. He said to order the less expensive parts would take longer and asked me what I wanted to do . I call him back and said give me the cheaper part I. come in the next day to pick up the car and he charges me more and put more expensive part in so I'm held hostage again by Raymond. You need to work on your business , you need to rework howyou treat/decieve your customers... in all honesty stay away from this auto shop. I brought my car here cause a friend of mine has known Raymond from before he opened up R1. I tried to do a motor swap on my own car but after the problems I was having I was over it. Brought my car to R1 and it was up and running within a week. If you are looking for a the lowest prices then take your car to some bargain place where they use sub par parts. The prices here are fair at best but you get quality parts and quality workmanship and at least I have a warranty on the motor since I went through them to get it. read more

Rather than the common arrogance displayed by most mechanics who no longer love what they do, Raymond listens and investigates every issue you have. If you're the type of person who likes to work on your car yourself he'll show you what he's doing or demonstrate what's causing the problem. I feel completely safe letting him work on my car and I've never been over quoted for any of the work he's done for me. The last time I visited Ray I needed help bleeding my clutch slave cylinder after having replaced it myself. R1 what can i say about this guy/shop, i barely found it on yelp but i've been coming here on and off with my car and sometimes friend's car and he does great work, i dont live around the area i live in san bernardino, the thing that caught my eye about this shop when he did a friend's swap on a toyota celica gt within 3 days with clutc. ran smooth like a new car, no problems what soever, car later on was boosted with a low psi and still ran like a champ. prices are also reasonable and raymond is a very sincere guy read more

My wife's Audi had a broken glove box (a common problem in A4's due to the flimsy plastic bracket that secures it). I showed Raymond a picture of a metal bracket someone had used to replace the plastic one and he agreed to try and do the same for me. He didn't rush, spending at least two hours fashioning the replacement and I was very satisfied with the result.
