So I fell upon this jewel about a week ago and I am so glad I did! I wanted to wait a few days before writing a review just to see how my nails held up, and wow they are still in great shape!! The ladies took really good care of my friend and me. We got the mani/pedi combo and really enjoyed our entire stay there. The foot massage with the hot stones and oil was the best part!!!! The first time I went to this place, I got a gel manicure & a pedicure and it was great. The woman who did my nails was super sweet and did a great job. I went back a second time because I wanted acrylics for sturdier nails - since I work so much with my hands. I wasn't paying much attention while my nails were getting done. They looked fine when I left. I just noticed a bit of a hump on one of my nails - but it wasn't a huge deal. I did notice that the woman accidentally glued her nails together though. I went back a third time to get my nails cut down & a polish change. They didn't have time for me so I went some place else. When the second salon began removing my polish they said my nails were thin and lifting. Because RA Nails never put any powder on my nails. They just glued the tips and filed down. Looking back, I remember not seeing the powder. Now I have to go back again and get them to fix my nails. The other place I went to wouldn't fill my nails. I came here since I had seen the special they have on their banner so I called beforehand and set up an appointment asking how much it would be for acrylics and a pedicure, one of the employees told me it would be $35 but when I got to the place once I was getting the services the employee then said to me it would all be $60 without gel. I was there for 3 hours, only to have my acrylics done incredibly bad. They had dips and were all uneven, worst of all they were my prom nails ! The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the employee who did my pedicure did a great job but other than that I would recommend saving your money and going to another place because it's overpriced for bad nails and incredibly slow service. read more

I had acrylics done last Friday not even a week later and the nails are falling off currently have 3 missing

I am so disappointed with the gel manicure. My nails were left bumpy, uneven and the gel was too thick. The lady who did my nails then said I shouldn't have asked for an extra coat (which I didn't) . I didn't even leave the salon and the paint already started to chip off. I am so disappointed to have paid 50 dollars for such terrible service. My pedicure came out okay but I regret getting the gel manicure. I had to leave to go to a different salon to take it off. I then called to ask if they could at least refund my money for the terrible gel manicure and the lady said no. I am happy to pay for the semi decent pedicure but the awful gel manicure should not have been charged. read more

I have not had gel done in over a year because the last guy seriously screwed my nails up. I saw RA on yelp and decides to give them a try. I went in for a gel mani and pedi. The price was good. The girl who did my pedi was great! The lady who did my mani, not so great. I went in with a couple of uneven nails. I asked her to cut the longer ones to even them out. She did, then she started to file and file....and file some more. She filed them so short some went up past the nail bed. Who does that? 4 days later the gel is holding pretty good but my fingertips are very sensitive. It just wasn't a relaxing place for me. Most likely not going back. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! They completely ruined my nails and took 2 hours doing so. I repeatedly asked for a dip manicure, explaining both over the phone and in person exactly what I had wanted. the woman proceeded to apply gel, and when I alerted her of this she started over and did the dip manicure incorrectly, applying only a single layer of dip powder and even skipping some nails altogether!! Then she proceeded to apply more gel over the incorrectly applied dip powder. My nails then began to peel off and break over the next two days. I called to ask how much it would cost for a gel manicure and was told by the owner that it would cost $25 so I figured I'd give it a shot since my usual spot was booked up. The technician was really sweet but I wasn't blown away by the shape she gave me or the quality of the gel polish. However, I wasn't going to complain. When it was time to pay I was told there was a $5 fee to remove my gel polish - I have been to SO many nail places all over LA and none of them charge to remove gel when you are getting gel polish put back on. And if that's the policy the owner should have been upfront about it, and not waited to tell me at the very end. I told her that wasn't what she said over the phone, and that I'll know moving forward but that it wouldn't be fair to charge me extra this time around, and she aggressively held my card and kept trying to charge me the extra amount. She raised her voice and did not try to compromise. Ultimately, mediocre service with terrible customer service, so I definitely would not recommend when there are so many other options in the area. read more

I stumbled across this salon by accident, and walked out very pleased and satisfied. I ended up getting more than I actually went in for. I stopped by the have a simple pedicure, but ended up getting the special pedicure, which included a hot stone massage on my feet. It was wonderful. Then I added a manicure and a facial. All procedures were exceptional. It was my day off of work, so I truly pampered myself. They do a wonderful job and I will definitely return. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this nail salon. I went in on a sunday morning and was the only one there due to a marathon near by and the streets being closed. They took their time and made sure everything turned out perfect. I got a simple mani pedi but it looked great. Do NOT get acrylics here. I came here for a pedi and a full set of acrylics. The pedi was fine, run of the mill acceptable pedi. But the horror quickly ensued as my tech began my acrylics. There were red flags from the beginning, the acrylic was being applied very very thick. Also it took the nail tech about 30 mins alone just to apply the acrylic. At this point I flagged the process and asked if she knew what she was doing. She claimed she did, however after two full hours of her attempting to file and shape these acrylics which were 4x as thick and not even close to looking like your standard pair I had no choice but to ask her to remove them. She did not know how to remove them, so she had another tech do so. It should also be noted that when I asked her if anyone else in the salon knew how to do acrylics (hoping they could intervene and save me), her response was no. Then on top of this 3.5 hour ordeal, she did not want to give me my money back. Why did I pay ahead of time? Because I needed to pick up a prescription for my boyfriend from CVS before they closed. I thought 2 full hours to get a pedi and a fullset would be more than enough. I had to leave 2 hours into the nail fiasco to go across the street to CVS, so I paid for the services and came back hoping she would be able to fix this. She offered to give me a gift card to use in the future. Like I would ever come back. Reluctantly she finally gave me my money back. After 3.5 hours, and notable trauma to my nails, I left with an average pedicure. Do not go here. read more

this was truly the worst nail experience i've ever had. i showed up on time, got a gel manicure- she told me on the phone it would be a 40 minute appointment as i told her i had an event to go to and needed the appointment to be punctual. it was an hour and thirty minutes by the time i left. she got nail polish all over my finger tips, cuticles and even on my palms of my hands. literally it looked like a 6 year old did my manicure. i asked her to fix it and she used this rough tool to get it off my skin which was painful and hurt. it was still all over my fingers and i told her i would not pay for this and I wanted to speak to the owner and she yelled at me and made a phone call to tell someone to come, THEN this tall man came in who was just sort of staring at us. pretty sketchy/ bizarre. the salon was absolutely empty which was another red flag. overall unprofessional and i felt really uncomfortable and wanted to get out ASAP. they also only accept cash and venmo? very weird just do not go there . read more

Yes, don't believe the 5 star rating. Take your business elsewhere. I recently ran across this place, and thought I would try it. On my 3rd visit, the 2 women rushed me, and even hurt me. One woman cut my cuticles too hard and was very rough, that I was bleeding (Not a good sign), and the other did the pedicure so fast - it was painful rather than relaxing. I am never going to that place again, and I don't think they like repeat business, due to the fact I was treated poorly compared to other places who offer the same 5 star service...no matter how many times you visit. Worst nail salon I've ever been to! First, there were only 2 nail techs working, which was no big deal since I was the only customer in the place, but the problems started when the manicure lady started shaping my nails. I had 2 nails that were cracked so I asked her to maintain the round shape like the others, but even out the length. They look awful!!! Some are round, some are squoval, and some I don't even know what to call the shape. Because of this I was already in a bad mood about this place, but then I was even more irritated when after I was done with my mani/pedi, the nail tech walked me over to the drying area, and as I'm waiting for my nails to dry so that I can walk home, the lady running the place turns off the blowing air and says "okay it's been 20 minutes, thank you!"... Wait what? I'm now literally one of 2 people in this establishment so why are you rushing me to leave?? RUDE! I had to walk home in their cheap paper slippers because I couldn't stand being in there any longer. I don't know if this is how they treat all their customers or if she was just having a crappy Easter Sunday, but I will NEVER EVER spend my money here again. read more

I can't recommend this nail salon more. I've never found a place where a regular manicure and pedicure lasts so long. I think it's the high quality products like OPI they use. I've been coming about a year all the way from Malibu. It's clean and modern with spa chairs for every client. First time I went to RA Nails to get acrylics the lady did a really nice job but this last time I went it was someone new and she did the worse job ever! I will NEVER EVER step foot there again! I pretty much paid $45 to get chunky round gel acrylics when I asked for coffin shape. Besides the shape being completely off, the lady applied some chemical to my nails that caused a horrible burning sensation to the point where I got teary eyed and asked for a fan just to ease down the burning on my fingers. I pretty much felt like a lab rat and it was the worse experience ever. Mind you I'm not one to knock down anyone's business but this was just too poor of a job for me to keep my mouth shut. They do really nice pedicures here, and they take their time. It's really clean in here and never really too crowded. Now for the downfall..I asked her for gel extensions and I thought it was going to be forms, which I know as gel extensions. Well the women doing my nails didn't do it the way I was imagining, so I thought it was a newer way of doing gel extensions. For starters, she cut me while cutting my cuticles. It wasn't a little cut, it was considerably deep. After profusely apologizing she kept on working. When it came to filing my nails, she filed the cut and it started to bleed. I should've stopped there. She puts the acrylic nail on mine, and then puts a few layers of gel over, then the color, and then the top coat. This is the gel extensions. Whatever, so I leave. Not even 24 hours later, one of my nails breaks. I am annoyed because this should not be happening, so I go back. She filed my nails SO SO SO thin when taking off the acrylic nails it's insane. When my mom said she was filing my nails too thin, she insisted that she wasn't. After I started investigating my nails, she quickly stopped when she realized that she made them way too thin. She puts the the same color of gel on, and sends me on my way. This gel manicure is mediocre. She didn't fully paint all the sides, and if you're like me it's really annoying and looks tacky. She made one of my nails too thin that it CRACKED underneath the gel, and this is FOUR days after going back. Like I said, this place is amazing with their pedicures. I won't go anywhere else for my pedicures now, but the manicures need a lot of work. read more
