I really tried to like this place-but it just didn't work out for me; as the first time I went, Jennifer did my nails. She spoke almost no English and was just downright MEAN! Yanking my hands, she never introduced herself-I had to ask the cashier what her name was, as I was making the payment/leaving; and demanding to know "what color" every 5 minutes, was annoying enough-but, one thing that annoys me to no end is when people constantly speak in another language throughout the service. It's the epitome of RUDE-as they know that we don't speak their language. Next, the chairs were wooden, and were absolutely, positively the most UNCOMFORTABLE chairs I have ever been seated in-hands down! Jennifer actually did a really good job on my nails, but needless to say-I would NEVER go back to her. The second and final time I went-I was serviced by someone else-who ever so rudely-didn't even bother introducing herself. This experience was worse than the first; as she very LOUDLY conversed with all of her colleagues for 2 hours straight-the entire time she was doing my nails! And 2 of my nails chipped in less than 24 hours, and they were gel nails. People go to the nail salon to RELAX, no one wants to listen to their service provider almost yelling while continuously conversing with their colleagues non-stop (again in their native language) for 2 hours straight. I had a headache by the time I left that place! I really believe that the way the employees conduct themselves is solely because of immaturity, as almost all of them are in their 20's, and they simply have absolutely NO CLASS, unfortunately. No one asked me if I wanted a water, or anything else-yet other patrons were given snacks and drinks. There is no parking whatsoever-though they do valet-but, unfortunately, I have issues with giving someone else my car keys and driving my car-as I have seen valets that have actually caused damage to a vehicle-and they did NOT even notify the unsuspecting patron of the aforementioned damage! Lastly, they are EXPENSIVE! Both times I went, I ended up paying more than $120, and at those prices-I feel that I shouldn't have to put up with any rudeness, or disrespect. Especially when I still left a 40% tip both times! I would NEVER recommend them...EVER!!! read more

I've been to Lanicure a few times before and always had a great gel manicure and overall experience. I was having car maintenance done down the street and figured it was the perfect opportunity to stop in while I was in the area. I was seated right away, which was great. They offered me a beverage, but they didn't have any cups available, so I wasn't able to get a tea. This visit felt very different from my previous ones. I believe my nail tech was Elly. The entire service felt extremely rushed. I had a small amount of grown-out gel on a few nails, and it was drilled off very quickly. In the past, they've soaked off gel with foil to make sure it's completely off, which I didn't receive this time. It wasn't a lot of gel, so that part was fine, but there was also no warm water soak to soften the cuticles, which I've come to expect as part of a basic manicure. I never been to a nail salon ever that didn't have a warm water soak. For a $50 manicure, I would expect the standard steps to be included. My nails were cut and filed very quickly and ended up slightly different lengths. I wasn't asked if the shape or length looked okay or if I wanted any adjustments. I typically go to Nail to Toe Rescue in Los Feliz, where they apply multiple coats (4 of the base and 2 top) so it lasts. This time I received one coat of base and one coat of top. Lotion was applied at the end, but there was no hand massage, she just literally rubbed it on my hands. The entire appointment lasted I'd guess under 15 minutes. Even the front desk associate, who was friendly and kind, looked surprised at how quickly I was done. Unfortunately, this visit felt rushed and below the standard I've experienced here before. They charged me $150 for one hour of literally rushed bs. Supposedly the work she did was considered Level 3. YEAH, NO. Cat eye, chrome, and rhinestones. No 3D design. I got ripped off. On top of that, my nails fell off and cracked within a week and a half as you can see. You can see there is barely any growth which is how you can tell the timeline. It should not do that. I am NOT a fan of Elly, she did ZERO cuticle prep before working on my nails and only did so AFTER I asked about it, and then she did it after she placed the false nails. Like what?? Then she had the audacity to take me to take photos and videos of my nails for like 10 minutes after making it seem like she was in a huge rush to finish my nails. She wants credit for doing these nails after I brought in so many inspo photos and she couldn't even execute it properly because she didn't have the proper cat eye magnet tools. 50/50 super nice, or really rude. Unfortunately this will be the last time I'll be returning. The girl who did my nails seemed upset everytime I asked for something ( I asked if she can soften the tips of my nails as I wanted almond and they were bordering stilettos and I wanted them less sharp). I asked for a French tip with a milky pink base. she laid the base super uneven and blotchy. I told her I didn't like it for that reason and she caught the biggest attitude. After complaining she then said next time don't get a fill that's why it's uneven. Okay so first of all why wasn't I told this from the beginning I would've had no problem taking their suggestion, and second of all she was trying to rush through my nails and laying the color uneven and blotchy. She then switched with someone else and long story short they are very much uneven still. At this point I was so over it for these overpriced uneven nails I regret paying 110 for. read more

Lanicure does amazing nail art. I went here on a rainy day with an appointment in October. The nail art was done with little direction and turned out beautiful. One thing to caution is the price, turned out being like $5 per nail for art! I would come back more frequently but it was a gel manicure with art and was out of my price range. Also I am ok with their pedicures but they don't use a real foot bath so it's a little weird for me. I like using spa and nail salons with real jets and drainage in their pedicure baths.
