I've been on a bit of a cauliflower journey lately and have tried several versions over the last month and a half, and this one is definitely the top of the list. I ordered the honey cauliflower, garlic naan, veggie samosa, chicken lollipops, crispy okra, and paneer saag. A friend recommended this place, and somehow I managed to eat all of this by myself because it was just so good! The honey cauliflower was the standout for me. The pieces were big, perfectly crispy, and had a great balance of flavor without feeling overly breaded. The veggie samosa was also really well done, with a good filling-to-breading ratio. The chicken lollipops were exactly what I was hoping for, and the crispy okra was another highlight because it wasn't weighed down by too much breading. The only thing I didn't personally love was the paneer saag, but that was more on me because I didn't really read the description before ordering and it just wasn't what I was expecting. The sauce itself was really good, it just wasn't the flavor profile I had in mind. Overall, I think Taaza is hands down some of the best Indian food in the greater Winston-Salem area. First I'd like to start out by saying when I got there the POS they use (Clover) had shut itself down without them knowing. They had no idea an order from me came through, until I got there. It takes me 25 mins to get to their location FYI. When I walk in and they realize what has happened the staff begin working to get my order prepared. Within ten minutes everything is packed and ready for me to take out. I appreciate this effort very much to fix the issue, and the man working the counter was very nice. This was my first experience with Indian food and I was very happy with the experience and the food, I will definitely return to this location. I really do like this place - the food, the service, and the overall ambiance. While the interior is rather small, there is plenty of outside seating, if the weather cooperates. I went for the Lamb Shank, after starting yet again with the Okra appetizer. The okra was exceptional, it is addictive. The Lamb Shank is pricey, and was rather small when compared with that at Saffron. I would strongly suggest that you get the gravy on the side! This is a solid addition to the area, especially to Clemmons. Like all quality Indian food, the items here are not inexpensive, but there is quality and decent portions. We have eaten here a few times now and the food has been very good each time. The service as well, very kind and professional with a warm familiar feel. The interior is open and modern with a middle eastern vibe. We have tried a variety of dishes and every one so far has been very good to exceptional. The appetizers have all been very good, the Veg Pakoda exceptional, crispy crunchy goodness. The Veg Samosa are very good, nice filling with a flaky golden brown crust. The Veg Momos also a solid choice, steamed dumplings then fried golden and tossed in a nice garlic sauce. Entrees so far have been exceptional. The Tandoori Salmon, if you like fish is very good and a delicious hearty meal. As well the Tandoori Chicken is equally a very good meal, full of flavor, and well prepared. The Tikka Masala Chicken is also another standout, rich flavorful and a hearty meal. The jasmine rice is very nice, aromatic and fresh, along with the plain Naan which is some of the best I've had, light, nicely charred bottom with a great crunch and excellent rich flavor. Goes great with your meal. We also tried a couple of the desserts, the Saffron Rice Pudding and the Fresh fruit Custard, both nicely presented, but not our favorites of the meal. The pudding the rice was still a bit hard, and the custard was quite runny. They were okay but not as good as the dinner entrees and appetizers. I came to this restaurant opening week and was so impressed. We ordered honey garlic cauliflower, momos, paneer tikka, and dhaba kadai paneer. All were excellent. The ingredients were very fresh and it was some of the best paneer tikka I've had. The cauliflower was almost like a unique twist on Gobi Manchurian - definitely worth trying! When you enter, the decor catches your eye of how beautifully thought through everything is. There's a touch of modern mixed with Indian elements. The patio is absolutely gorgeous as well. First trip here. Excellent food, slow service. Like a lot of places, the service is worst when the restaurant is not busy. Ate here on Sunday about 12:30 pm. They forgot the rice with the meal, then brought it at the very end. Waited at least 15 minutes for the check, even AFTER my wife left early. The server seemed to be preoccupied somewhere else. The food was very good however (when it finally all came) great mixture of spice but not overpowering. I might give it another try, but hopefully the service improves. read more

What a wonderful experience! We went on a Saturday - with no reservations the wait was around 45 minutes. The ambience is very nice and modern and updated, I really enjoyed that. They had dosas, which I had for the first time, and what a fun experience - it was huge! The chicken biryani (a special) was so delightful and really flavorful. They were also really sweet and surprised me (thanks to my friend) with a birthday dessert of gulab jamun and saffron rice pudding. read more

Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. The chicken tikka masala is not served in bite size chunks but is instead served as flat filets of chicken which is outside of what I'm used to but it allowed more flavor to permeate the surface area and I loved it! We also tried a vegetarian dish on the specials menu which was potato croquettes mixed with spices and served in a sauce. It came with 4 croquettes which split between 2 people was a nice addition to our meal. If I had it separately as its own entree for an individual person I would have liked at least 5 croquettes, but they were still quite large and very filling. It was a unique addition I've never tasted before and I would absolutely love to enjoy again and again. We will return! read more

This is my second visit to Taaza, with the first coming during their soft opening. The service, ambience, and food were all terrific. The butter chicken was flavorful, but featured filets of chicken rather than the usual morsels. Likewise, the Rogan Josh featured sliced lamb, which seemed odd, but worked. We have been waiting for this restaurant to open. So we were lucky to catch them during their soft opening. They were doing a limited menu before their grand opening. Restaurant is beautiful with an outdoor patio. We got complimentary Rang Birangi chips with Tamarind chutney and green chutney dips. Then we had Vegetable pakora which had a wonderful flavor. The restaurant is very receptive to any input you can give them. Service was fantastic. After our appetizer, we had Lamb Masala Curry with rice and garlic naan. I was excited to try the new Indian restaurant in Clemmons. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. They have tons of natural light and modern decor touches. The staff was great. All of them kept checking on our table and making sure we had what we needed. They brought out a snack for the table which were crunchy chips you dipped in a sweet sauce. We shared the chicken, lollipops and dosa for an appetizer. Both were very delicious and we enjoyed them a lot. If you are a chicken wing fan, you will like the lollipops because they had a lovely spice and were crispy. The dosa was filled with potatoes and was fun to eat. My son and I shared the butter chicken, and we also tried some of the tikka masala. The butter chicken was amazing. The sauce was very flavorful as well as the other sauce on the tikka masala. We also enjoyed their garlic naan. We were too full for dessert, but next time we will try one. read more

Very welcoming to match the greeting arch above the front entrance. Everything about this place stands out. On a Sunday evening just after 7pm this place was packed / hoping. At least 75% of interior seating capacity. Outside area not so occupied on a hot July day. But in the fall it would be heaven. The quality and quantity of food in relation to price makes this place a high value performer. Fairly family with Indian menus and this place has offering titles new to me. I strayed from my normal order to try somethings a little different. And happy I did but makes it harder to judge. I am going home with enough for another meal. New to my pallet: VEGETABLE PAKODA (Battered Mix Veggies mainly green beens) (excellent and addictive when just served hot) and Chicken Dhab Kadai (medium hotness that for me could have been a little hotter) Enjoyed the sauce but a bit different that got used to. Something at times different that says hey. Hard to describe. The roasted Garlic Naan is yum good and solid. Wish they had Pori offering and soups, something they possibly could decide to add?? The roasted Papadum flavoring says eat and enjoy me. I definitely am inclined to come back for many future experiences. And Sandy may plan a girls outing to here. Finally made it to Taaza Indian Bistro in Clemmons, NC--and what a pleasant surprise! The ambiance was elegant and welcoming--major kudos to the interior designer for creating a space that feels like a little escape from the everyday. The service was top-tier, with Elvis and Jay providing exceptional hospitality throughout our visit. We started with the shrimp appetizer and the samosas--both were packed with flavor, though spice-sensitive diners, consider this your friendly warning! For the main course, I went with the lamb saag. While the lamb itself wasn't quite what I expected, the rich sauce and perfectly cooked rice absolutely hit the mark. The flavors transported me right back to my time in Mumbai. Excellent on all fronts! We stopped by last night with a carpool of hungry kids fresh off a soccer match and had a great experience. For starters, the ambiance is well done. It is clean and inviting without feeling overly formal. The host was incredibly kind and gracious taking the time to interact with the entire table and show genuine interest. Rest of the staff was excellent as well. Prices were incredibly reasonable. It isn't take out pricing, but for a top notch sit down meal, $17-18 is a value! And for the food... absolutely amazing. I had the special (Portuguese Vindaloo with Shrimp) and got it extra spicy. No exaggeration, one of the best curry dishes I have ever had. My son had the Butter Chicken (medium) and he also loved it. Good portion sizes where most of us had enough for leftovers but it didn't feel over the top. We ordered quite a few different dishes as well as garlic naan and everyone loved theirs. I simply can't recommend this place enough. Always a pleasure when a casual rest stop on a road trip turns into a gem. Can't wait until we are back in the area for another soccer trip so we can eat here again. read more

When I first walked into this new Indian restaurant in Clemmons, I was worried. The decor and atmosphere were elevated, which in my anti-marketing reflex made me worry they were all show and no taste. Boy, was I wrong. The food is incredible even if it was served differently than the more typical Indian restaurant. I have been there twice, once getting lamb saag and the other time chicken curry and both were delicious. I got the curry "Indian hot" (my spicy tastebuds are damaged so it takes a lot to connect). The food, while not particularly hot to me, was still very good. (Getting a restaurant to give an old white guy really spicy food takes several visits, which in this case I am willing to do.) The prices were not particularly high. This will be a repeat. read more

I came in and ordered the buttered chicken. It was kind of good but not worth $16. The garlic and the mozzarella naan didn't taste that good. The mixed veggies which I thought were pakoras didn't look done. It looked like it still had flour on it. The coconut shrimp stew kinda tasted okay but I didn't taste coconut in there. I don't know... everyone has an off day. I paid about $67 for this meal and there was barely enough. I think I will stick to the other taaza up in Burlington. Hmmm. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! We got madras curry, tikka masala, butter chicken, garlic naan, and the honey garlic cauliflower. Everything was amazing. The food had a little kick to it (even when requested mild) but it didn't even matter because the flavor made up for it. I will 100% be coming back frequently. Best Indian food in the Triad for sure. Where do I start! We got the shrimp appetizer, which was the best shrimp appetizer I have ever had! The four of us were glaring at the last piece in hopes that no one else wanted it - no chance! Then came the garlic naan.....an absolutely perfect choice! Two of us got the Butter Chicken - fabulous. Bill had the Paneer Tikka Masala, which he devoured! Stan had the Portuguese Chicken and he yummed his way through that! Still talking about it now! You have to try this place. We had a wonderful dining experience this evening at Taaza Indian Bistro in Clemmons, NC. What a fabulous place. The ambience is fabulous, and Elvis our server was just delightful and very helpful in navigating the menu. All the staff were just wonderful, friendly and the food was delicious. I had the Lolly Pop chicken to start, great little drumsticks shaped like a lolly pop, great seasoning, with a little kick...but very flavorful. Along with that Madras shrimp curry, all I can say is wow....totally delicious. There was a serving of Butter chicken, a lovely dish of tomato sauce with spice and tender chicken... another dish with chick peas, all with rice. The naan was out of this world...fluffy and crispy at the same time. Then they presented a birthday surprise for me....a lovely rice pudding with a lovely ball of deliciousness in the middle with a mango glaze wishing me a happy birthday. Great food, great service.....lovely modern decor... Just a wonderful experience.. You must go!! A wonderful dining addition that's been missing in this area of the Piedmont. read more

The restaurant was freezing, our server took forever. Communication was difficult and a lot of head nodding. My gunpowder shrimp very good. My garlic cilantro lamb was very good. Waiter never checked on us - ever.Our drinks were empty for 20 minutes. Asked for bill. Asked if bankcard fees are charged to customer. Waiter said "no bankcard fees". Then ran my card and closed out our bill adding in bank fees with no signature. Told him to void, and I will pay with cash. They asked me to pay cash, and then he would call the manager or owner to try to speak to me in English. Anyway, he wasn't in the restaurant and I later found out he was driving around and eventually showed up 10 minutes later I didn't sign anything and yet they ran my card without a signature in addition, he told me that he would need to take my cash first and then he would try it to cancel the transaction or void it. He hadn't done that before and none of the staff knew how to do that since opening 7 months ago. Good food ( not exceptional )poorly trained staff. Long waits with approximately 10 people in the restaurant. Poor communication and they were slow coming out of the kitchen. Did not come to the table ever. I have to give them a one star for Service and a three star for food. Others at the table got lamb or chicken. It was all the same flat piece in different sauces. I have to say that the garlic cilantro was the best and The naan bread was good but the service and communication made it a ridiculous experience with minimal training and seat of their pants kind of management. Taaza-train you staff better and get you CS S together!!!!However, better Indian restaurants are in town and we will not return after waiting 20 minutes for someone to "drive"to the restaurant in their car to register train with absolutely no one discussing the problem. I was held hostage after waiting on slow, servers and asked to pay twice ridiculous debacle!! Others waited in the warm car. This place can be very good, but you will have to walk over to someone at the hostess desk if you want to refill or need something else they never returned to the table until you track them down. I'll be honest, it was frigid due to the lack of heat and I heard other customers complain. Demand better- already spoke to manager so we can all ignore any lame premeditated responses. I eventually got to pay cash and tipped better than 20% and I never got a receipt. Crazy bookkeeping. Thanks for listening who doesn't hate bank fees, and poorly managed restaurants!!!! read more
