The Rabbit Hole offers interesting decor (Alice in Wonderland), decent prices, and good music. The bar is pretty small that'll fit maybe 100 people at most. There are two rooms, the front and the back. The entrance leads to the front, which has a projector screen and reserved seating for VIP patrons. The back is where the bar is actually located. The back room is smaller than the front and has seating along the east wall. The Rabbit Holes gets significantly more crowded during the weekend and after 10pm. The drinks are decently priced -- $5 for a glass of beer on tap (Shock Top, Bud Light, Fat Tire, etc) and $12 for specialty cocktails. There are 3 bartenders which makes the service slightly slower, but they are really nice. Suggestion: The bar is located on Main St in Alhambra, which means close parking is difficult. I park about a block east in the Cha for Tea plaza and walk over. Free parking and parking is always available. This bar has really amazing, fruity, fun, colorful drinks with pretty awesome names! Although to be honest, it WILL take time to order/ get your drinks. I have only ever seen 2 bartenders, and sometimes the bouncer helps makes drinks too, while someone else picks up empty cups. But I would say the drinks are worth the wait. They have so much character in their drinks. The interior design is really fun too! Make sure to look at the ceiling! However, their music isn't so good and their isnt much dancing space. This place seem more for middle age people or just for people to relax and have a nice conversation with their friends. The music was old style, around 80s-90s music. There isnt much tables in the bar. It quite small yet spacious. The bartender was very sweet and kind. She made amazing drinks and give kind recommendation. Im not going to lie, their drinks are bomb. I love it a lot. I find their cocktails not that strong in alochol. But their drinks are very nice tasting and good, so I enjoyed it a lot. Been coming here since this bar opened, and it's always a good time!! Steph, the bartender, makes great cocktails and shows great hospitality. Abu, the bouncer, is very welcoming, friendly, and nice; makes you glad you came in the first place, but would want to get on his bad side though . On some weekends you'll catch dj Papabear, dj Karta, and dj Richie spinning here, so you can get groove on. Limited dancing space, but you'll find a way to make it work. Their specialty cocktails are about 15$ or so, well duh they're specialty cocktails. I've only ever had a couple myself. I generally stick to shots and beers which I think are your standard price of the bars around there. The crowd there are usually nice people. Never really had any trouble here. The Sailor Moon looked pretty and has all sorts of fruit on skewers and was actually not bad. It was too sweet for me, but good choice if you don't want to taste your booze. My bad review is mainly because my Greyhound tasted horrible. It's a simple cocktail - grapefruit juice, gin or vodka, sometimes lightly sweetened. What I got was garbage. I wanted it to be DEDICATED, its not. and its small. if you happen to be in alhambra, why not... but I wouldn't go out of my way to try it. The drinks were ok.. The bar glasses are angled and cool looking but the temptation to hold the glass straight is a challenge when walking. I LOVE this place! The hot shots alone will keep me coming back. A shot that tastes like a Mexican watermelon chili pop--What is this magic? I took my wedding party here for an afterparty, and though there were about 30 of us, it didn't feel crowded. Everyone raved about the decor and the drinks, and the bartenders were all super fast and friendly. The only con was that there was only one bathroom per gender. Even just two stalls in the small bathroom space would alleviate the wait time, but I do understand the space may be too small for even that. I really appreciate all of the artistic details in this place. From the pages on the giant book sign, to the scorch marks on the bar menus. What do Han Solo, a Porn Audition and Stolen Rave Drugs have in common? Keep reading: I cross the 710 a couple plus times a week for those Chinese treats I just can't live without. But Main St. Alhambra is not the SGV of my ancestors (the furthest east in LA my ancestors lived in was Boyle Heights in the 30's). Half of me felt like I was back in the 90's at Third Street Promenade and the other half was Mackenzie Phillips in American Graffiti. But the same thing could be said about anyone daddy issues and a drug habit. So I told Harrison Ford to pull over and let me out. That's when Droopy Dog, I mean Harrison, did a U-ie and said, "Get off my plane!" And amidst the flavor of Main Street Alhambra I ambled into this fine establishment looking for something new. The Rabbit Hole Bar is running excellent happy hour deals for those seeking cheap drinks in posh environment. I wasn't here for that, and upon placing my order with the bartender for your signature all the bells and whistles cocktail. Just like speaking the truth in a courtroom I raised a flag that required the bartender to tell me to hold on a moment and then she went in the back. Oh, was I scared. I was for sure it was a trap just like my porn audition. I was lured in with fruitful ambrosia of the gods of the future only to get hit a dozen times in the back with a baseball bat. But in all fairness, I essentially would have done the same thing to my co-star had I gotten the part. To my surprise a fine looking gentleman approached me from behind the bar, it was Niko Novick, the artist behind these concoctions and I was in luck because they were revealing their new drink menu and he has just about to bust out the nitrous. That induced a few rave flashbacks when I came to I had settled on a Stoned in Bogota, his new mezcal based cocktail with mole bitters. These are drinks you want to order at the bar and stay so's you can witness their birth like a proud adoptive parent who suck them dry as soon as the papers are signed. Niko is a molecular gastronomy guru. Each step is a careful preparation with more science than baking. Yet there is an art in this fusion and watching him take a shot of whipped cream add it to a strainer and sift the ingredients together in a fog billowing bath of liquid nitrogen. My Stoned in Bogota was served on the rocks (one large ice cube cause that's the proper way) and as a special treat Niko topped it with the frozen chunks of infused whipped cream which slowly melted into the drink adding a desserty sweetness with each sip. The effect of the nitrogen chunks intensified the smoke and crowned the drink like a snow cone aka the king of iced water desserts. Don't tell the Otter Pops. I look forward to going down the list of Niko's specialty drinks and to see what brilliant adventures he puts my taste buds through next. read more

Cool bar concept in Alhambra. Who would have known? A little gem on Main St. Alice in Wonderland themed bar! It's not that big, so I would advise you to arrive early or get a table reservation. The people who frequent this bar are pretty friendly and the bartenders are easy going. Don't be afraid to ask them for any recommendations or to try some of their house drinks! Music is good and isn't too "cultural" so it's good for all types of crowds and groups. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again because it's one of the few places on Main St where I would drink and feel comfortable. I do wish the space was bigger though because this location could easily serve as an art gallery or something! read more

I have been wanting to try this bar out because of all the good reviews. I finally made my way here on a Tuesday night. To my surprise it is conveniently located across the theaters so it was perfect since we had tickets to a late showing. We walked in and it was empty. Well of course it was since they had literally just opened up for the night. I was there with two friends and we didn't mind being the first ones. I had the chance to admire the Alice in Wonderland decor and snap a couple of pictures. I was really impressed with the detail put into it. I'm a fan of detail and going the extra mile to make a place stand out from the rest. My favorite part was the ceiling, it is fake grass with bunnies. As well the huge book case they have next to the bar. It is a small bar and from what the bar tender said it gets pretty busy on the weekends. The music was perfect nothing to crazy and definitely playing good jams. Robert (bartender of the night) was very welcoming and amazing. I shared how I have been wanting to visit the Rabbit Hole and he gave us a run down on their popular drinks. They did have happy hour but since it was our first time we asked Robert to mix us up some drinks of his choice. He was by far one of the most knowledgeable bartenders I have came across. He asked us what types of drinks did we prefer and what type of liquor. I expressed how I am not a fan of super sweet drinks and that my preference of liquor was tequila. He is amazing he mixed up two drinks both with tequila. One was fresh cucumber and some type of natural syrup and the other fresh raspberries and as well a syrup I believe. So so so good! He topped both of them with some fire on a lemon. It was pretty awesome to watch him create this. The second drink we had I totally forgot what it was but it as well involved some flames. Robert is a great bartender and I am definitely glad we were there when it was slow. He had the time to share good stories and enchant us with his skills. If you don't like having to wait so long for drinks like me I do recommend going there early. Still haven't gone on a busy night but I am the type of people that enjoys bars before they get crowded. My assistant recommend The Rabbit Hole she told me the music was good, and they had really good drinks. Apparently their are two locations with the same name one in Alhambra & in West Covina. When I yelped it I came across this location. I've been waiting to visit so last Saturday my cousin & I went. It was empty for a Saturday night & we got their around 10:30p. The crowd was not what I expected, the decor was nice. I agree with another yelper that the drinks do take long to make but they are good. Do try the Black Dahlia & Sailormoon. I was disappointed on the Moscow Mule which is my go to drink when visiting a new bar. The service is lacking & let me just say a smile real or not it doesn't take a lot of effort. Oh.. & a bar that's empty around 12a is not a good sign. With that said, we won't be going to this location again. Usually, I do post pictures but didn't even take any. My assistant went to the Rabbit Hole in West Covina last night & it was packed. Will be visiting that location soon. read more

I've passed the rabbit hole many times walking up and down main street and finally went in the other night. I was glad the bouncer scanned my ID which made it quick, clear and simple to get in the door. I had always imagined it being bigger than it was once I was inside. There is an interesting ambience to this place, the whimsical walls and ceiling are drowned out by the game on the numerous large TVs. Which is great for my dad however, for me and my friend at the fresh age of 21 we were a bit disappointed by the contrast. Despite there being more than one bartender and a bar back the service pace was on the slower side. It was hard to find a menu or get one once we had the chance to ask for it. The drink selection was enticing and had a wonderful variety of cocktails. I tried the Penicillin which was gingery and came with a cherry. While my friend tried the Black Dahlia which came with a blackberry in a tilted glass. The drinks had a good amount of flavor but still tasted watered down. read more

After a few more outings at rabbit hole, turns out that this place is probably the best cocktail bar on Main Street. Or even the entire city of Alhambra. Mix crowd, super awesome bartenders, good happy hour (8-10pm). If you live int he SGV, your local watering hole is pretty much limited to Old Town Pasadena. Parking and price can be an issue out there. At Rabbit hole, It's a cheaper place to drink, everyone like a good deal. If you wanna fancy it up, they awesome got some pretty exciting flaming drinks. Best part about this place is it's location, downtown Alhambra. Free parking! Just gotta worry about the Alhambra police. They are always patrolling Main street.
