An absolute lifesaver while on vacation! We arrived in Ocean City to a loud clunking noise in our car. I called this shop on Tuesday, and despite being busy, they squeezed me in on Thursday and had it completely fixed before our checkout on Saturday.The entire team--from the front desk to the service technicians--was outstanding. They didn't overcharge or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs; their only priority was making sure my family and I were safe for our trip home. My in-laws own a vacation home locally and use Racetrack for their automative needs. While I was here, I remembered I was overdue for an oil change. I booked an appointment and lo and behold, I missed it due to some family mishaps. The front desk staff and Mike were super kind and understanding and accommodated me the next day (a Saturday, I might add,) and got me on my way. The price was PHENOMENAL and they even perform some courtesy checks for me as well and provided me with a rundown of recommended services despite the fact they knew I'd be returning to NY the next day. Their care of my car as well as myself as a customer, was top notch and if I were staying in town, I would've let them handle all of my automotive needs. read more

On our return trip from Ocean City, I had noticed something stuck in the car's front tire... stopped at Bridge tire who couldn't even look at the tire until the day and recommended Race Track tire just up the road a few miles... started driving but realized I didn't know where I was going and using Maps on the iPhone, searched for them, not knowing there was two locations, selected one and glad I picked the one just off Rt 50 on Racetrack road, arriving just before they all went to lunch and told if I didn't mind the wait, just as soon as they got back from lunch, they'd have a look... so we waited. At 1 o'clock they took the car in and less than 10 minutes later the car was back out front... the screw was small and had not gone thru the tire, they had verified it was not leaking. When I asked, "How much ?" the response was, there was nothing to fix so there is nothing to charge for, tore up the work-order and handed me the keys.. They could have charged me some kind of service charge or told me the tire was bad or anything... but they didn't ... if you need service while in the area, be sure to go slightly off the highway and visit them, don't think you'd be disappointed. read more

I brought my car to Racetrack because my tire was leaking air. I was in and out quickly and the staff were friendly and efficient. They replaced the tire pressure sensor (I think that's what they called it). The next day at 6pm got in my car to drive to Annapolis and discovered the same tire was almost flat. The shop was closed at that point so I had to stop twice on my drive home to add air. I took the car to a shop in Annapolis the next day and was told that the job was improperly done and had to have them redo the work. I called Racetrack and asked for a refund. I got a response that the owner would call me.. 20 days later still no call or offer for a refund. read more

Other than what I felt to be an extremely high price , I was very happy with the service we received here. Had we been able to get our vehicle to our mechanic, it would have been about 1/3 the price. I was planning to change the oil myself on my 2006 Xterra, and bought the oil and filter to do so. I had to go to Hagerstown suddenly for work, so I had racetrack auto do it. It didn't take too long, about 45 minutes. Just before the Bay Bridge, the oil light came on, so I immediately pulled over and discovered the oil fill cap was missing. I added 4 quarts of oil (which I still had) and found a nearby auto store and bought a new cap. I got almost to Frederick, and the same thing happened! This time I crawled underneath to discover the oil filter was screwed on so loosely, that it had spewed out all the oil, twice! When I returned, I visited them, with receipts, and told them what happened. They apologized, gave me $150 for my troubles. They did try to rectify the problem, but I will not return there again. read more

Really high prices. I got my suv fixed last week; 2 coils and all my spark plugs replaced for 330 at a local mechanic. Was on vacation and another one of my coils went out. Charged me 227 for one single coil. Unwilling to even talk about the price. Thumbs down. read more

My car suffered a tire blowout and I needed to get it fixed almost immediately because I needed to drive back to New York. We called Racetrack Auto and explained our problem. We were greeted with great understanding and they were able to order two new tires for me. The tires came in the following day and Racetrack Auto squeezed us into their schedule. To start, I was 23 years old and had just moved 8 hours away from home to live in Ocean City. My car broke down and it was recommended that I take it to Racetrack Auto and Marine which I did. The first time, my window wouldn't go up. Seems to be an easy fix to me. They called to say it was fixed it within two days. However, when I got there to pick up my car, the window didn't work. This happened TWICE before my window was actually completed. Also, they scratched up the interior of my car around the window. The second time, my car completely quit on the side of Coastal Hwy. Again, 8 hours from home and now vehicle-less. I had just gotten out of college and was trying very hard to make it on my own. (read, I literally had $.03 in my one bank account). I got a call a few days later saying that it would take $500 to fix my car. Alright, if I borrowed money from my boyfriend, I could make it happen so that's what I did. When I got the phone call saying that my vehicle was fixed, I went to pick it up. Thankful to be mobile again. However, I didn't even make it out of the driveway before experiencing the exact same thing that caused me to put the car in the shop in the first place! My car died. Obviously, I never got to take my car home that day. A few days later I got another call. Now it will take $1700 to fix it! Apparently, there were a lot of things broken under the hood that they apparently had never seen. Now, I don't know a lot about cars but I find it hard to believe that you can open the hood and diagnose the problem without noticing that $1700 worth of things were broken. After this, my family and I decided that it would be better to sell my car and simply buy another one as I bought the car for $4000 when I was 17. It was absolutely not worth $1700 in repairs. As the vehicle was in my mothers name and she was in town for a weekend, we went to Racetrack to see if they wanted to purchase my car. All I was hoping to get out of it was the price of the parts that they had put into it. As they were never used, that seems fair in my head. Take them out and put them in another car! Anyway, after the sales lady was incredibly rude to us when we asked to speak to someone with the ability to purchase our vehicle, she finally did tell us that the owner, Scott, would be back any minute and we were free to wait for him. She also stated that he would be driving a smaller truck. A few minutes later, a smaller truck pulled in and as the driver got out, one of the other guys called him Scott. Seems like a giveaway that that was indeed Scott. Well, he came and left without speaking to us. He could have been in a hurry. We all are at some point in our lives. Multiple phone calls later with absolutely no reply left us frustrated. After a year of us attempting to get in contact with Scott, my parents came back down to attempt to catch him at the office. Finally, we were told that Scott wouldn't help us but that we needed to speak to an entirely different person... who again we could not manage to get a hold of. Not only was that frustrating enough but the same rude sales lady oh so nicely informed us that not only would Scott not be helping us but that we owed them $50 for every day that the vehicle was there.... for a grand total of $18250. Are you kidding me!? Needless to say, this has been the worst mechanic experience, I have ever experienced. If your mechanical abilities aren't there, at least have great customer service or vice versa. Racetrack Auto will not get another cent of my hard-earned money or one more minute of my time. Please spare yourself the horrendous situation that I found myself in. read more

I was on vacation in Fenwick Island and stuck -- needed a new wheel and two new tires. Called a well-rated place and was told I could only get what I needed by going all the way to Salisbury on my temp. Oh no! Then I called Racetrack Auto Center and they said "no problem." They even sent out a very polite fellow to remove the bad wheel and put on my temp. It took them about half an hour to do the work and they charged a VERY fair price. They're not the fanciest-looking place but I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Made a couple calls for replacements and race track was willing to find four new ones for this car (not an easy tire to come up with for a performance vehicle). After having a negative experience with Mike Dentz I took my truck to Race Track for an alignment. I dropped my truck off in the morning, went to work and picked it up at about 6pm after they were closed. As soon as I got in my truck I immediately noticed a green leafy substance sitting in the center console, I didn't think much of it until I picked it up and noticed that it was marijuana. If I would have picked up my truck while they were open I could have had one of their employees come out to look at it, instead I took a picture as proof. Upon leaving the lot I noticed that my steering wheel was off center and the truck was pulling to the right (an obvious sign that the alignment was done incorrectly if at all). The following day I contacted Race Track to tell them what had happened, I was put on phone with the manager who was in complete denial that one of his employees could have possibly left the pot in my truck and was making all kinds of excuses as to why it couldn't have been so. When told about the issue with the alignment which I had paid for and was told was complete he responded again with a bunch of excuses as to why that might be "its a new machine, it might not be calibrated". He then offered to resolve the issue by coming back in for a second time so they can do the job I paid for the first time, my response to that was that I do not trust you (Race Track) after what had happened and I would just like a refund so I can go get my alignment done correctly somewhere else. The manager if you want to call him that then told me that that is not going to be a possibility. I will never use them again and suggest everyone reading this do the same. read more

This place is horrible and dishonest! My experience on 10/14/15 was almost exactly like Jen J.'s (in 2014.)The only difference is that I refused to believe what they were telling me because, both my amazing Subaru mechanic back home at Orbachs Automotive and the tow truck driver said it was the fuel pump. I was told my car was running (even though it needed a coil assembly, plugs, wires,cam sensor,crank sensor AND A FUEL PUMP!) I drove my car more than half way home when it stopped running again. This part might seem hard to believe but a Subaru mechanic stopped to assist me while waiting fir the tow truck. The mechanic from Matt Slapp Subaru looked things over and said "Sorry, but you need a fuel pump". NO JOKE RACEWAY IDIOTS!!! My mechanic replaced my fuel pump and had it ready before I made it to the shop. For UNDER $100.!!! Beware of Raceway Auto and Marine. Run quickly in the other direction and AAA members remember to voice your bad experiences to them to save other members from their nonsense. In spite of all of the frustration and cutting short our wonderful vacation, it was well worth the $900.+ that I saved by not believing those crooks. read more
