We spent some time in OCMD but I live elsewhere 7 months of the year and we always wait to get our services done until we are down in Ocean City. WHY? BeCause he always gives us optimum service from start to finish. His shop is not one of those shops that is constantly recommending things that need to be done that don't really need to be done immediately. His business is totally honest. His front of the house staff are knowledgeable, with good personalities and you really get the feeling that they take great pride in their jobs. So yes, I'm talking about Mark and other people who handle Mike's car business along with him, but even the people that work as cashiers are excellent as well. I was losing pressure in one of my tires, very gradualy at first and it recently accelerated. I feared the rim was bent again. I asked a neighbor and he said he gets all of his work done at Mike Dent's. It's located right off Ocean Gateway across the highway from the Wawa, so it's really quick to get to if you're in lower Ocean City, or in West Ocean City. I called and they said to come in so they could take a look. A short while later they found a screw in the tire. They recommended a plug over a patch so they didn't have to disturb the noise dampening foam in the tire. For $20 I was out in under an hour. Nice people, fast and honest service. read more

My daughter got a screw in her steering tire. We called several locations and no one would take us. Mike Dents Complete Automotive said, Hey, let these guys get some lunch and come on over. We waited 2 hours, drove out there and they checked the situation right away. Guy came out with this tiny screw in his hand and said it barely broke thru the tread and no leak. They didn't charge us anything but on our way home, we're going to try to stop in and give them a tip. They were so nice and we just left excited w/o thinking if tipping. This group of guys are the absolute best. My wife and I were visiting ocean city and our brake started acting up the day before we were getting ready to leave. I stopped at a few different shops to either get it fixed or try to get someone to take a look to make sure it was safe to drive back home over 400 miles away. They all refused to look at the car or wanted to hold on to the car for a few days before they would look at it. I headed over to mikes and his mechanic looked at it and figured out what the issue was within 10 mins. I work on my car pretty often and I would not have been able to figure out what the issue was. I tipped the mechanic and headed inside to find how much it would cost for the repairs. But the owner said it this one was on him. He could have easily taken advantage of the situation but instead he saw I was in need and put out a helping hand. I can't say enough good things about these guys. We were visiting Ocean City and the side door of our Odyssey fell off the track right before we left for home. We managed to hold on to the door and drive a few miles to Mike's. The mechanic (his name was Mike too) spent about ten minutes helping to get the door back on the track so we could get home to the dealer to get it fixed. I tipped him and went inside to see what I owed for the service. The manager was figuring it out and Mike, the owner, walked in and said "We're good. It's on us.". I thanked him and shook his hand and said "Karma is good." I've done similar things, but we were obviously from out of town, and screwed if it didn't get fixed. It was a perfect opportunity for a dishonest businessman to take advantage of a stranded traveler. Instead, he helped another human. Much respect for Mike. Based on other good reviews I took my car there to get my Maryland inspection. Unfortunately I didn't pass and they were very honest and up front on what needed to be done in order to pass inspection. I didn't feel like they were trying to get one over on me so I decided to have them make the necessary repairs which included new tires. I felt they were reasonably priced and did the repairs on time as promised with no extra surprises when it came time to pay. I would definitely recommend! read more

Mike Dent was our savior. Mark is the mechanic there and he is wonderful! I had to have my car towed to OC automotive (NEVER GO HERE!) on my vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. The car sat for THREE DAYS without being looked at. The mechanic there is named Kevin who is extremely rude and disrespectful. I called everyday asking for an update and he said things like "are you going to keep bothering me?" "You better get more days at your hotel because this is going to be really expensive." One thing I really like about Mike Dents is that they have the experience and expertise to install aftermarket performance parts that you purchase, which is normally not permitted with a dealership (but call them to confirm they can do the job before you purchase anything). I did a road trip up to Ocean City from Florida and as soon as I arrived my change oil light came on, I thought this was odd since prior to my trip I had my oil changed. For some reason the latch on my hood wouldn't release so I wasn't able to look under the hood to see if I was for some strange reason low on oil. I decided to look for an auto service center and of course being from out of state that made me feel concerned that I'd be the $$$ coming into a shop for the first and last time. I decided to go to Mike Dents and prepare for the worst. It turns out they were totally honest, professional and thorough with inspecting my car. They managed to be able to pop the hood and found that indeed the fluid levels were topped off and that my oil was new. Prior to leaving for OC I t was time to change the fluid in the rear differential, the mechanics even checked thar to make sure that the fluid was changed. Turns out that when I had my service in Florida the mechanic didn't bother to reset the oil change indicator on the car's computer along with that Mike's mechanic even checked the air and cabin filters, they looked like they've never been changed in past service on the car. The mechanic replaced the filters for me and that was that! The charge for the filters and labor was very fair. If I lived in the Ocean City area I definitely would bring my car their regularly for service. Besides being honest and fair with their work and what I was charged they're good people. We were on vacation in Ocean City and my F-150 developed a noise in the front suspension the day before we were to return home, a 300 mile trip. I found Mike Dents shop on the Internet and read great reviews posted by others. So at 10 pm I emailed the shop from their website. Mike responded by 10:30 pm. I took my truck into his shop the next morning. They took me in very fast and found the issue. He said is was not a big issue and I could make it home without a problem and have my local shop take care of it. He was right, we got home without issue. I gave three stars but this requires some explanation. For the quality of the service and the price I give 5 stars. For the total lack of concern for the safety of their patrons I give one star. I was there twice and and both times employees were not wearing masks. The second time I was there there were 5 employees and NO ONE wore masks and there was no hand sanitizer to be found. The lack of concern for their customers well being is disturbing and it disregards the City of Ocean City regulations and the recommendations of the CDC. read more

Halfway down to OCMD we lost A/C on 10/05/2017. Once in the hotel I took a chance at 3pm and they had no problem looking at my Odyssey. They did what they and although the A/C was blowing warm, they took the time to help. I went to another garage first and they were not interested in helping. It's nice to know that if we need someone reliable and willing to help, this is the place to go. Took my old expedition there to get a safety check since the truck is very old. They got me in right away but most grateful was for the honesty. They could have easily milked repairing the truck but told me really wouldn't be worth all the work and cost given all that needed to be done. I took my vehicle in for three issues - two of the issues were handled but the third (strange engine noise while cold engine running) was totally ignored. I reminded the service manager on the third call (WHICH I HAD TO MAKE FOR A VEHICLE STATUS) of this engine issue, but it was never addressed or resolved. They had my vehicle for an entire 8 days to basically repair the air conditioning. I had to call them three times over this 8 day period to check on when my vehicle would be done. I never received any update calls on the status of my vehicle untill it was ready to be picked up (even though the engine noise issue was never addressed). I just wanted my car back at that point. Mind you, I have taken my car to this facility twice before with air conditioning issues and they always called me with updates. The issues also never took more than 3 days to be resolved. Not this time. Sorry! I will be finding a new mechanic now based on this terrible experience. read more

Mark at Mike's Dent was extremely friendly and made contact right away after I had to have my truck towed. I took it to Mike's on the recommendation of the tow truck driver. I live 22 miles from where my alternator went out and was not able to tow the truck home. They called with a quote early the next morning (working during a tropical storm) and had the truck ready that afternoon. I only gave Mike's 2 stars for three reasons. 1. Grossly overpriced. I was at their mercy, without time or the ability to get quotes or move my truck. At the time Mark called with our quote, my area was under 3 tornado warnings. I just agreed and decided it was what it was. Afterwards, others thought the cost was high, so I called my regular mechanic and one other in my area. They quoted me prices more than $100 less than what I paid. If you have the means and time, get your vehicle to Salisbury, no resort prices there. 2. The woman working the counter when I came to pick up my car was not wearing a face mask. MD has increased their mask wearing mandates to include inside all businesses and public spaces and outside crowders public spaces. She was in direct violation of the mandate, in an area that is exploding with the Covid-19 virus. It gave the impression of disrespect and a lack of concern for their clients. 3. When I walked around back to get my vehicle, my daughter hopped in before I had a chance to unlock the doors. My truck was sitting out back unlocked. Again, this gave the perception of little to no respect for their clients and their clients' vehicles. If you find yourself stuck in OC, without any options other than the OC garages, Mike's work is good and quick. But it comes at a price. Make sure you take all your valuables (which you should anyway) and be prepared to find employees not following the state health guidelines. read more
