Where do I start! Disappointment is an understatement! We definitely were not welcomed! No exaggeration included! For starters, the seat yourself arrangement is the most uncomfortable arrangement in the city. You stand at the front door with other hungry patrons literally hovering over already occupied tables trying not to stare while patiently waiting for them to finish. This is unavoidable since there's nothing else to look at while waiting. Uncomfortable for those eating and those waiting. Lol, The hungry will always win the staring contest. Gives off the vibes of being rushed or rushing those seated. Get a number system or incorporate some other form of notifying waiting guest that can comfortably wait "outside" considering the minimal amount of space. Once a table came available we begin seating our kids when the grumpy busboy says " I usually don't let people sit while I'm wiping the table". Which we completely understood and apologized but felt the need to quickly make our way to an open table before the other surrounding groups did since theres no way to tell who arrived first. Granted, we watched him clean the table once but decided to make a second pass. Not too big of a deal but there's more. Once seated with drinks we watched the group(s) behind us finally get seated and thats when the hospitality true feeling of our presence began to show. After finishing a cup of coffee we watched the family ahead of us get there plates, start smacking on the country fried steak, licking the gravey running down the side of their arms and an abundance of refills of coffee for every table except ours. We are now 45 min in watching this atrocity take place next to us while our stomachs touch our backs. At this point we're debating on paying for the drinks and leaving. From the time we received our drinks, the family ahead of us were not only served but finished eating and now chatting it up. We're pretty patient people and understand that eating out during peak hours will take time, but with that being said, taking time doesn't mean that the group in front of you can be fed and finish along with the groups 10 min behind you placing order, getting refilled coffee AND receiving their plates before our second cup of coffee let alone a plate or apology for the delay is cool. Nope, 1 hr + in and we just kept getting ignored. Made eye contact with the gentleman taking orders with the mobile register and the heavy set waitress skipping out on the coffee refills and both quickly looked away. It wasn't until the grumpy busboy saw us and asked if we needed anything. At that point I thought he was being sarcastic but he actually slightly redeemed himself by taking care of the 2nd cup of coffee. We took two sips and decided enough was enough. I made my way to the register to let the busboy (hate calling him that but I didn't get a name) know that we will just pay for our drinks and exit stage left. He apologized and told me not to worry about the drinks and we left. In short (sarcasm here) Thank you Headquarters for providing a teachable moment for my kids and shout out to Deny's for unknowingly recovering this fumble. SMH! I'll just continue to keep passing by this place without hesitation. Never thought I'd say this about any establishment because we all have bad days but I would give a zero if I could. Unfortunate for sure because it smelled really good, it was the service that stunk! read more

Hear me out, if you're looking for hip and trendy you're not going to find that here. At Headquarters you're getting a classic diner feel and amazing delicious food!! The green chicken enchiladas were gone in minutes (I asked mine to be topped with sour cream and extra cheese!) and the beans and rice did not disappoint either! The burger was cooked to perfection, my boyfriend claimed it as one of his favorites. Service was great, our waitress was very attentive and kind. read more

We order the chicken breast with green beans mashed potatoes gravy and biscuit! It was awful had to get our money back! Chicken was so over cooked dry dry dry! The juice was absolutely horrible had a sour taste! Green beans were canned. Potatoes tasted like boxed Biscuit was hard as a rock Gravy was from a bottle! Salad from a bag and came with no dressing! I use to eat here, every time I came to Maricopa. But, this is not the same place I use to come to. My waiter, behaved as though he couldn't care, what I ordered. Though he couldn't seem to take his eyes, off of my Marine Corps baseball hat. Maybe, it offended him. I ordered a Southwest omelette, that came with toast & hash browns. The omelette, was decent sized, but taste wise, it was pretty bland. Hash browns were good, but skimpy, in portion size. I been here before back in 2018 .The place was popular for Maricopa. I remember it was the dive place to get amazing good food. It seemed busy when we pulled up. Walked in the place the atmosphere is ugh . It absolutely needs to be updated on the inside. It had an odd odor when you walk in. When a place like should be smelling of delicious food. Omg it smelled stagnant. This is when I decided to have my food to go. Got home and there was a surprise in my meal. Long black hair!! Baked in my eggs. Now, I know accidents happen. I really try to be supportive of small businesses, especially restaurants. This was my second time here. I came to my breakfast with my daughter. I really had high hopes. Last time I was here... I admit it's been a while. First off the restaurant was supposedly to open at 8. The doors were still locked at 8:05. After waiting outside with other diners, they finally open the door at 8:10. The woman who let us in, I didn't recognize her, nor did I recognize the female cook in the kitchen. The you male waiter wasn't there either. Looks like they have had some turnover in staff. After we were seated, we got some menus. As other diners came in we were ignored. It took a while to get our orders taken. The waitress was by herself, she was also the person who opened the door. She was stretched too thin. I ordered a Chile relleno omelette with green sauce and my daughter ordered the Spanish omelette. She ordered hash browns on the side. Our food came with refried beans. The food was very disappointing. The green sauce was like a thick green water with corn starch. The egg was over cooked. The omelette split in half when I cut it. It lacked cheese and flavor the refried beans or some of the worst ones I've ever had. They tasted like they came out of a can--metallic taste. My daughter was not a fan of her breakfast either. When she cut into her omelette a bunch of water came out. The hashbrowns were so over cooked and dry. I will have to come at dinner time and give it a try, but this is definitely not a place I would eat at for breakfast again. The service was slow. Everyone has a bad day. I know there's a shortage of staff everywhere. I can take bad service or slow service if the food is great. Not so this visit They pride themselves in being one of the best places for Mexican food. Came with friend for breakfast after almost 3 years due to bad experience last time. Was seated right away and our waiter took our orders right away and kept my coffee cup refilled often. Place is much cleaner (table top not greasy and no leftover debris). I ordered the Western Omelet with Hash Browns and toast (sadly out of English Muffins), with side of salsa. Food came quickly and there was a ton of it! It was really tasty and I really enjoyed it. My friend got the biscuits and gravy and he really enjoyed it as well. I'm from out of town and my son recommended I come here. I took my grand children for dinner and the food was superb. It's a hole-in-the wall dive bar/restaurant. Quaint atmosphere and the service was top notch. I later returned the next morning with my sons for breakfast. The food was just as good and we were served promptly. I've lived in maricopa for five months and had heard of this place but never gone. I'm glad I went because this will be new breakfast / lunch spot for the weekends and when people visit. It's reminiscent of the breakfast joints back on the east coast with a southwest feel. I was greeted right away, and drinks brought shortly after. The food was great and the coffee wasn't bad either. Ordered a to go breakfast burrito without the beans this morning and I am so glad I did! The person who answered the phone was polite and professional, they asked me to hold so they could help the customers in front of them, as they should IMO, and took my order when they could give me their full attention. I arrived early for my pickup and they got my food out early. While not the BEST breakfast burrito I've ever eaten it's certainly better than 98% out there. Good fluffy eggs, not over cooked, nice slightly crispy but chewy bacon, hash browns had good crisp to them and the cheese was ooey gooey melted all over. Hot sauce is good with a mild kick to it.
