I have been wanting to go to Rachel's Mediterranean for quite some time now. I finally talked my son into going with me. I did not know what to expect when I walked in It was nothing like I imagined. It was set up like a SUBWAY Sub Shop There's only pretty much like three things kind of on the menu. Either you can get a souvlaki dinner a rice bowl, or a kebab. There may be some other little things you could change up, but this is what I saw. Lol. I ordered the steaks souvlaki dinner. You get a side of rice with that. They automatically gave me "Rachel's rice." . I was not a fan of that. They put the steak separate from the salad, which I also don't care for that. My problem is, is that Kostas has spoiled me and that's how I picture all Greek food looking and tasting. At least that's how it all should look and taste. My son got a steak rice bowl with tzatziki as his dressing. I also got a side of tzatziki to dip my pita bread in. The girls took care of us as soon as we walked in, which was good. When we got to our table, we both enjoyed our food. It was no Kostas, but it was still good. My problems were as follows: You don't get enough for your money and they don't have any Greek potatoes. All Greek restaurants or restaurants that so much as Serve souvlaki , should have Greek potatoes. So it cost me $40 for just a rice bowl and an open souvlaki dinner which was very small and was put into a container with sections in it, which gives you less food than if it was just one container without the sections I will, however, go there again I'm sure because like I said, the food was good, just a little too much money for the portions. The steak itself was delicious. The rice was not very good.

The service was slow and poor! In addition I found a hair in my rice bowl and was not given a refund. Would NOT recommend!

Although we we the first people there at 1pm for dine-in, there was a steady stream of take-out orders getting picked up, as well as other (mostly men) coming to dine. The chairs are wide and overstuffed, and the tables are just the right height. It's a, "have another bite" atmosphere. There are long prayers coming from the speakers. Even a non-Arabic speaker like me knows that, "Bismillah" doesn't rhyme! The better half's take on his kebab? "This is the best lamb I've ever had!". I thought the shwarma and fries were great, but the hummus served with warm pita, some fruity, green olive oil, and a sprinkling of sumac/ za'atar really knocked it out of the park. I was dipping my fries in it! We ended the meal with a long slice of pistachio backlava. Oh, so good!

Lots of little places offering what Starbucks offers (premade offerings). The GPS came up with Mythos. It wasn't far from where we were. We parked on the street behind the restaurant before noticing the blue sign indicating they had a lot behind the building. No matter. Just be aware. You walk in and immediately smell breakfast cooking. We were seated at a booth and ordered a couple cups of coffee. The menu is pretty extensive. She got eggs benedict with toast and hashbrowns. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast special. It's Thursday morning so not a people in the restaurant. The food is out pretty quick. Coffee gets refilled without having to ask. Eggs are done right, steak is cooked medium, potatoes are a little crispy. Her eggs benedict came out just right, potatoes the same as mine. Plenty of food to fuel up in the morning. We ate and talked for a while. Waitress checked in regular to see if we needed anything. Food is gone, coffee is getting finished. Definitely a breakfast (and lunch) place to check out. Fast service , reasonable prices, quality food. No complaints.

We ordered for the first time in about a year last night, except we've sworn off the apps so we called it in and picked it up...which saved them the 30% commission fee the apps charge them (their prices are the same in-restaurant as they are on the apps). Come to find out they charged us a $1 takeout fee. How does that make sense? We are saving them money! They wouldn't remove it when asked. We can definitely make a better steak sandwich at home with a little better planning than last night and the soup is nothing like I remember. We won't be back...which is not a problem, honestly.
