I came here on the Fourth of July, and honestly, you can't beat the location! It's right on the beach, and it's an added part of the experience of going to the beach and this place is that you can literally walk straight from the beach into the restaurant. So you can spend the day by the water, get sandy, and then head inside for some food without having to completely change plans. The whole place has really fun beachy vibes to it. It felt casual, lively, and like the perfect place to stop in after spending the day by the water. There was live music, tvs, and themed drinks. I also really appreciated that they were open on the Fourth of July, especially since a lot of places have limited hours on holidays. I got the seafood mac and cheese. The seafood itself was fresh, but I thought the mac and cheese could have used more breadcrumbs and a little more sauce. It was still good and filling, but I think those additions would have made it even better and given it a little more texture and creaminess. I will say it's a little pricey, but I think that comes with the territory when you're doing seaside dining and paying for that kind of location. For me, the combination of the food, atmosphere, and being steps from the beach made it fun and still enjoyable. Overall, I think this is a fun spot if you're already spending the day at the beach and want somewhere casual to grab a bite. Being able to walk right in from the beach makes it feel like a quintessential beach-day experience, and the fun atmosphere definitely adds to it. read more

First time here. The place was not too busy. Views were nice. They allow dogs! So we brought our little one. They have a pup menu. Nice. Our friends invited us. They've been a few times. First thing. Very important. Being big spray for the nats and no seeum. Sand fleas. They do have spray if you forget. Ask before you buy at there gift shop. OK. The place is nice. The service was good. The menu had plenty of food choices. Something for everyone. I ordered the chowder, and Shrimp pasta. Our party ordered the Philly, grouper dinner, and the Shrimp and grouper. Everyone liked their meal. Mine was excellent. The only problem was they didn't have a spoon for me. WHAT? I had to use my fork. Crazy. Not a huge problem but worth mentioning for management. Anyway, my dish was awesome and very tasty. The waitress was attentive and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals. This is a great place with a lot of history, museum pieces, and pictures of the way it was. Fun place. Good food. I recommend. read more

My thoughts are a two-part review. One on the museum and second on the restaurant. The museum is wonderful. There are plenty of pictures, racing relics, and displays, to not only entertain you, but to allow you to understand the true beginning of Daytona's racing. (And I'm a novice race fan) Now the restaurant portion. I was excited about the many food choices offered. I finally opted for their Monte Cristo, and my partner the fried shrimp platter. Very disappointed. The fried shrimp platter offered limp shrimp and mushy fries and coleslaw. The Monte Cristo, well I didn't receive all of it. The sandwich was impressive with its golden fried bread and stacks of ham and turkey but it was soon cold because I was waiting on the raspberry jam. I was told it was being picked up from Publix. Yup, they ran out and decided to serve it without a main ingredient. Also, the onion rings were greasy and cold. So for us, the food was a flop. Side note: The manager did stop by to see how things were but before we could answer, he was off to another table. So my advice, stop for a drink. There's a nice bar with beach view, and definitely stop for the history! read more

This is a fun littlw museum and beach bar all in one. A couple we met our first night in Daytona told us about it and since it was on the way to the Ponce Lighthouse we decided to go after we saw the lighthouse. Very cool display of NASCAR's origin. The bar and restaurant is pretty much outside seating out back, some covered, some out in the open but under umbrellas. We ordered peel ans eat shrimp, wings and "fries." The wings and shrimp were good but the potato offering was not fries. If I had known what they were, I would not have ordered them but it is my fault because we didn't see fries on the menu and asked our server if they had fries and he said yes. If you are a fry person like me, you need to know that. Other than the fries not fries, I would absolutely recommend stopping by as it is a nice place right on the beach. read more

Stopped here for brunch before heading home after a quick staycation beach getaway. Party of 8, 4 adults, 4 kids. Walked in without reservation and were seated right away. Our friend highly recommended this place and it lived up to the hype. Incredible service. Rich history. Amazing food. Beautiful beachfront views. It was a chilly, windy day so they had the wind blockers down which was perfect with space heaters on. Very comfortable and even for 50 degrees. Table had: fish Reuben, steak & egg Philly, Monte Crisco, chicken & waffles, kids Mac & kids tenders + ahi taco & shrimp appetizers. Everyone left with full happy bellies. Kids meals served in a fun paper camero car that they can take home. Our kids split the chicken and waffle meal which was perfect amount of sweet & savory and enough food for 3! Loved the history and spent lots of time looking at collection of NASCAR memorabilia. The kids enjoyed the gift shop too. read more

If you want to eat Oceanside with a fella that loves race cars, you've found the place. The cocktails are well made and the meals are generally good to great. I'm always happy with the shrimp and grits, which is more than any lady should eat in one sitting and the guys enjoy the fish and chips. The only meal I've ever been disappointed with was ribs, but I'm picky about ribs. The service is casual but attentive. While they do have covered seating, I'd suggest going when there is little chance of rain. I believe they have live music in the evening, but there was only one time I was there where they had that, and I don't remember it being overly loud. It's not an 'Oh WoW!' Gourmet Place, but it's a comfortable, laid back place with history and a good meal. I'd recommend you give it a try. read more

I love everything about this place. Is it kinda touristy and kind of expensive? Yes. But you're at the beach and there's usually live music. I never need to ask for refills on our drinks here, and the appetizers come out quickly. There's a set of stairs that leads to the beach from their deck, so the kids would never know if there's a wait for the food because they are busy enjoying the ocean. My go-to has historically been the Mad Marion, but it's not a sandwich that I love enough to pay $28. The fried green tomato BLT is great. Best burger we have had in a while ... one with onion rings and one with great slaw. The ocean view is beautiful.. umbrellas and covered too. All outdoor seating- great parking across the street Menu has options for everyone. Service was perfect Music on Fridays and I will say it was loud. Of course it has the classic NASCAR memorabilia and a great ocean view. The live music was a great mix of 80s & 90s. The food and drinks weren't very good at all. It was a very windy day so not too many people yet the service was beyond slow. It took 20 minutes and asking twice just to get a shot from the bar. As soon as I was greeted by the hosts it was so welcoming and kind. They brought me to what I think was the best seat in the house. Beach front view and to my excitement a warm day with a perfect breeze. I sat and read my book while my amazing server Kelly made sure that I was happy with everything I could need. She greeted me with a smile as soon as I sat down and answered all of my questions. I didn't finish my crab sadly but for the price two pounds was an amazing deal!! The coleslaw was so delicious, and I tried to hush puppy's with some hot sauce to change it up and you should try it too! 10/10 experience and cannot wait to come back. We are here yesterday. We had mostly appetizers. Potato bombs, wings, salads, and nachos. We enjoyed them all except the pork nachos were dry and also cold. The clam chowder was excellent. The service was good. We had a problem with the ambiance as someone got sick next to us and they left the mess while we were still there. It was terrible. Unfortunate. We love this place usually, but today was really not good. The means hold have been Immediately taken care of. We had to leave our uneaten food and leave. read more

Me and some friends came in to get some dessert and watch the Nascar race. When our server learned that we were only interested in a dessert menu, her entire demeanor changed. I know for a server its not ideal for the customers to only order dessert, but this was over the top to the point of me writing this review. Her face dropped immediately and she became extremely irritable with us. This was interesting as she had several other tables that she was serving, so its not like she was really missing out on that much tip money. So after she reluctantly told us what the dessert options they had were, me and my friends needed a few moments to decide if we wanted anything or were going to leave. The server came back, my friends ordered, and at that point I was still determining if I cared enough to cough up $13 for a little cheesecake. Eventually I said screw it, and when she came back over I ordered a cheesecake. My friend's dessert came, they ate it, and then eventually someone came out with key lime pie. Not what I ordered, but I genuinely didn't care enough at that point to even be upset. Don't know if the server messed the order up on purpose because she was angry at us, or genuinely just input the wrong thing. As I was eating, I observed a 5 minute period at which the server just sat at the bar on her phone and didn't check on ANY of her tables. Overall, I just expected much better from a place thats so highly acclaimed. The server's attitude really just ended up throwing off the entire vibe and after closing out we immediately left to go watch the race elsewhere. I won't be back. read more

This the 2nd time we visited and nothing has changed it's gotten worse... The worst place the bar tenders are absolutely disgusting never washed their hands we were there for hours. One of the gentleman bartenders was wiping their sweat off their head with a white towel and using the same towel opening bottles. He also grabbed the mint leaves with his hands after wiping his head full of sweat... The other female bartender grabs the dirty dishes dripping on all over her hands and then proceeds to make drinks.. I'm not sure how they pass their health inspection with such filthy employees... The management is just as bad I watched him breaking Ice bags on the floor and then placing the bag of ice right on the ice container being used to make drinks.. They need to terminate them all!! The health inspectors should visit them more frequently... Don't eat there if you have any allergies.... read more

Always a friendly and fun place. Great atmosphere, good crowd. I always order my Long Island ice tea here, plant myself in "my chair" for a snapshot and enjoyed a sunset. This time the Long Island was more of an Arnold Palmer with a splash of vodka. My daughter said the same. ;-( Wife ordered a can of spiked seltzer. Guess that's where things are going? read more

Pretty good but could be better. Drink prices are a bit high (and not on menu) and barely any booze, and 3% CC fee is totally ridiculous. If you get an ocean view it's great and food is better than most. Lacks beer selection and weak drinks for the money. On the other hand service and views are excellent. Live music is also a bonus. I strongly recommend you stock Cloud 9 IPA. (:) I mean seriously no IPAs?? read more

Great views and location. And it is exactly what you are paying for. Food...was not good at all. Had clam chowder it was not creamy at all. Had a leaf in it. Not sure what spice that was. Over all it had a bitter taste. The shrimp taco's had plenty of small shrimps. But they kill it with too much lime. I love lemon and lime but this was not right at all. My friend had chicken and shrimp fajitas he said it was ok just fair. Nothing special. Did not worth $70.00 for lunch for 2 people. Done better at Olive Garden. For a lot less. read more

So this was my first time back since they reopened due to the horrible damage the last two hurricanes did to Daytona/ponce inlet. The inside looks so much different but in a good way. When you first walk into the lobby it's looks almost the same except there are doors now that were added between the dining room and lobby. When you walk into the lobby they added these HUGE windows that look out to the beach and there was a live band in front of the big windows. The whole restaurant is open and over looks the beach and you can even walk down from where you're sitting. The food was good drinks were good and the service. I ordered some fried green tomatoes and they were so delicious . Overall glad they're back open. I really do enjoy dining here read more
