Such a great beachfront restaurant!!! My husband and I LOVE to eat at places by the ocean and this location did not disappoint. It had great views of New Smyrna Beach. The restaurant allows you to seat yourself once your whole party is there. Which as the hour went on it seemed to get trickier and trickier for people as it was a busy holiday weekend! We lucked out and got a table right away. For lunch my husband and I each ordered the Fish Sandwich and got it grilled. The fish was cooked to perfection and was so good combined with the fresh lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. To drink we each had a beer from a local New Smyrna brewery. Stopped by here after a visit to Dunes Park. I've heard the restaurant is regularly reviewed as having the best burger in central Florida so I knew I had to drop by. There is a private parking lot that is small but capable. There's a parking attendant there ensuring patrons are actually going into and leaving the parking lot. Service was quick. It's a beach style restaurant. Nothing fancy. The NSB burger was just ok. For $15 it was average for its taste. Service was ok. The kids chicken tenders were inedible. Overly fried so that they were hard as the table. Tried it - won't be coming back. read more

I have been coming to this bar for more than 35 years, but after today's experience, I will not be returning. The manager was completely ineffective and displayed little to no customer service skills. Instead of addressing concerns professionally, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome and unappreciated. Unfortunately, the attitude of the rest of the staff wasn't much better. They came across as unfriendly, unapproachable, and seemed bothered by customers rather than interested in providing good service. The one bright spot was Mattie, who did an excellent job handling our order. She was courteous, efficient, and provided the level of service that every customer should expect. She deserves recognition for her professionalism. It's disappointing to see a place I've supported for decades decline so much in customer service. I always make a point to stop here for lunch while I am here at the beach. Consistently the best Long Island iced tea and excellent burgers. Of the years coming here I have had at least 2 burgers not good due to being overcooked. I have slowly ventured in trying other apps as the grilled shrimp and key lime season which is always yummy but this last time I had tried the chicken salad! What a sleeper hit. Chucky white meats on yummy tomatoes. The order offered crackers too but why when the tomato really added to it better! I always get the mushroom burger with Swiss and grilled onions. Delicious! I also really love their fries. Nice crunchy texture. I always get it with chili and cheese too. Never made it to dessert with all that I eat. The staff has made some slow the. Over from the gals that seemed to have served forever. They have some younger servers and now some male servers too. Didn't leave without some merch either. Until my next visit. We had already had dinner but stopped in for a drink. It's located on Flagler Avenue right on the beach. There is seating both at and around the bar as well as windows everywhere so you can watch the waves roll in, people watch, etc. Parking can be tricky so come early if you want to use their lot as it's limited on spaces. There is a public pay lot across the street so you don't have to walk too far regardless of which you choose. One thing I had forgotten is that you have to drink your wine out of flimsy plastic cups. Favorite shrimp in FL Sat at the bar, with a wonderful view of the gulf and got speedy service from the bartender. Ordered key lime shrimp and it did not disappoint. Got some seats at the counter by the window looking out at the beach and ocean. It was a colder and windy day so not crowded on the beach or inside. We were greeted quickly and ordered some drinks for the kids and a beer for my husband and I. I had the mushroom burger. It was good and I enjoyed it, but nothing special. My youngest did the kids chicken fingers and she liked them. My oldest did the shrimp skewers and she said they were delicious! Hubs did the Blackened Mahi Mahi and he said it was cooked perfectly. Food is your basic bar and grill grub. Nothing really stands out. They have your basics, burgers, fish, chicken and some specialties. It's a convenient location on the beach that has a decent view and it's located right next to the beach access ramps. Drinks weren't anything special. serving food on paper plates and drinks in plastic cups made it seem like a cheap dive bar, which at the end of the day it really was. Did you have a small parking lot but is very limited. You must move your car once you are done eating. Nice long bar with TVs and friendly bartenders. We were lucky enough to happen upon this place by accident. We did a quick search from the interstate for "beachfront restaurants near us" and The Breakers was suggested. We drove towards the beach and sure enough this place has amazing views of the ocean, the beach, and plenty of people watching. We saw that their burgers were locally famous so we gave them a try. WOW! The best burgers we have ever had. The environment is lively, open windows with an ocean breeze, and very friendly waitstaff. We will be back. highly recommend. I ordered twin lobster tails which were honestly the most tasteless Lobster tails I ever had....and they did not serve it with REAL butter to make it worse...it was some fake liquid butter! My husband had the surf and turf and absolutely agreed about the Lobster tail. Said filet was okay,but not very flavorful. Stopped in for dinner while walking the beach after learning about the history of the building from the NSB Museum. Love the feel and decor of the building. Staff was friendly, gave great tips on menu items, and great with service. Food was perfect. Everything was good. Service was good and greet view. Loved the look of the ocean...however I was shocked to see my salted rim high end margarita show up in a solo cup. A bit disappointing. ESP cuz it's on the coast. Plastics reek such havoc on our local reef and oceans abroad. I was astonished to see the patron/grand mariner margarita in a clear solo cup; Kinda bizarre. Straws were a shock too. I wasn't asked if I wanted a straw or just came in my drink. I've got a mouth...a god given straw, the last thing I need is wrinkle lines from sucking a liquid that could easily have been sipped. All could have been avoided by the asking of a simple question: "would u like a straw with that" to which I think most educated and intellectual individuals will answer politely "noooo thank u". Breakers is an iconic oceanfront spot here in Smyrna worth visiting again, and again, and again. I grew up coming here often enough and almost always take newbies to the area here just for the fun of the space, the place, and that view! Food's pretty good too. That burger, whoa; and those "Key Lime" shrimps, tho! They're often too busy for me but they're also one of the few places I'll do even when they're crowded. Lots of fun. They can handle the crowds. And they don't have money grab prices, something of a rarity these days. Love, love, love them. Love them for the nostalgia and they're really just better than most similar such places I've found in my beachy Florida food travels. read more
