If you walk in knowing what to expect, it's a great experience! I went on a weekday evening, so it wasn't very busy. The owner and waiters are so friendly and helpful, they actually shared some suggestions of items they could make, that were not on the menu (since some ingredients are seasonal). It's a nice, cute eatery with a twist on Indian food... but not overly different than the original dish. The flavors are AMAZING! The only suggestion I would provide is to ask for the food mild/medium if you are unable to handle the spice :)

South Pasadena. I enjoyed my meals at Radhika and love this neighborhood resto. Radhika serves modern, inventive and delicious Indian food. I also love the cool art and environs. It is located across from the South Pasadena metro stop so it's super convenient to get here if you prefer public transport. Radhika is the only Indian restaurant in the area and I love eating here. They serve Indian beer also. Service is helpful and informative. Sometimes the owner is about and checks in on the customers. Super nice. I've tried this resto 3 times now and have not been disappointed. End of Yelp.

This is so unfair. Caveat for the review: it's the 4th of July. I'm hungry for curry and Anime Expo is in DTLA this week. Server & chef were awesome. BEST INFORMAL/FORMAL INDIAN spot. From upscale casual lunch to wine&dine, 5/5 LOCATION In south Pasadena next to the Gold Line metro rail. Hop on and walk across the street. (Goes to Azusa). Cute little location on the corner. The pleasant sound of train crossing. Bonus: Fun people watching as they return from Anime Expo DTLA & cosplay. PARKING Super Simple free street parking for two hours. If it's a holiday, park for longer. Lots of parking nearby. TAKE AWAY they do a brisk take away service. There is no "standing zone" to run in and run out. You'll have to park. SERVICE Extraordinary. Our server was the nicest. I wanted more than "mild" but didn't want the "insanity level" that I usually like my saag at. He said if my dish wasn't spicy enough, they'd make it hotter. It was perfect. FOOD Papadum Of course was fantastic. And the imli tamarind chutney was soooo good. None of that watered down nonsense. I think they used dates in their recipe too. Give me this on vanilla ice cream? Green chutney was great too. FISH CURRY My wife loved it. Tender flakey fish. It's NOT made with flour/wheat dredge. For wheat sensitive people, thumbs up. The curry is spicy but doesn't overpower the fish. PANEER TIKKA MASALA Nice firm paneer chunks. LOTS of them. Get this with a side of naan to keep your fingers clean. And some rice to soak up all the sauce. So good. Of course it's ghee crazy, but so delicious when you need it. Limited vegetarian entree list, but the paneer makes up for it. REGULAR NAAN Good size. Buttery presentation. One per person. Note: Dear carb-loader, get two. RICE Goes with curry. Order it. Fragrant. Nicely cooked. There's a nice wine list. Too hot to try today, next time.

Radhika offers up some delicious dishes and great views of the metro racing by every few minutes (big hit with the kids!). Looking out into the neighborhood, it feels like being in a quaint town faraway from LA. I absolutely loved the Dry Fruit Banana Chicken Korma, which came with garlic naan. I hadn't had a korma quite like that before and would definitely order again. The Paneer Tikka Masala was also amazing. I found the food to be quite flavorful, and the Taj Mahal beer served in a large frosty beer mug was completely refreshing, The service was also polite and attentive. The inside ambiance could use a little work, but I'll be back for the food!

YUM YUM AMAZING Their food is incredible. We came in early on a Saturday night and were sat quickly. The inside is very nice. My mom and I shared the Chicken tikka masala, an order of basmati rice, and garlic naan. It was all AMAZING. And plenty of food for 2 people. We had leftovers They also brought us a little appetizer on the house before hand. I'm not sure was it was, a crispy thin cracker with 3 dips. So yummy! And so appreciated. The service is outstanding. Our water was never empty. It's south pas so parking is pretty easy, we got a street spot right out front Safe to say I will be returning, and frequently

Radhika Modern has become my favorite Indian restaurant. The samosas are the best I've ever had. All the food is super flavorful and the customer service is great. I highly recommend them.

These were so good went we first tried them and couldn't want to get these again. We came in right before 3pm and they run a daily lunch special from 11:30am - 3pm. The staff was welcoming and worked very hard as she was the only server managing a few tables. We opted for 2 orders of the Pani Puri shots (one free from the SGV passport deal) and the Chicken Curry Lunch Special. The food took some time to come out but worth the wait. The Pani Puri shots were the best! I love the set up and presentation. The little mini cart even moves around with its wheels. You pour em up in the puffs and eat it in one bite! I like the flavor of the pani so I sip some too. :D As for the chicken curry, the flavors were delicious. The portions are good for one person but we shared. The naan was freshly made. But while shopping on Colorado Blvd, we decided we wanted to try something different. We both love Indian food, but I have a sensitive stomach, so sometimes Indian restaurants can be hit or miss for me. We decided to give Chak De California a try, and WOW! What a hidden gem. We've lived in Pasadena this whole time and somehow never knew this place existed. The moment we walked in, we noticed how beautiful the restaurant was. The decor is modern, stylish, and has such a warm vibe. The staff and who I believe was the owner were incredibly welcoming and kind. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the meat platter, and honestly, the food was incredible. The chicken tikka masala was hands-down the best I've ever had. The sauce is absolutely amazing, the meat was super tender, and even ordering it a little spicy didn't upset my stomach at all -- which tells me they're using really quality ingredients. Another thing we loved was the atmosphere. There was a DJ the Saturday night we went, and the music was such a cool mix of Bollywood, French house, and eclectic lounge vibes. It was chill, classy, and not overly loud or crazy. Super cute date night vibe. Overall, genuinely a 10/10 experience. I'm literally at home right now waiting for my chicken tikka masala on Postmates and felt the need to write this review immediately. Don't sleep on this restaurant, seriously go try it ASAP. Yes, the prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it feels justified because the quality is there.

It is an Indian Vegetarian mini restaurant and grocery store chain, similar to the India Sweets and Spices franchise in the SFV and environs. The grocery selections are vast. On the restaurant side there is both North and South Indian fresh food, some of which is made to order (say the Masala Dosa). What is lacking here is air conditioning. It was a really hot day. How can you eat spicy food while being so uncomfortable? I was still full from breakfast, so I ordered a medhu Vada with Coconut chutney, for dine in. The Vada was soft mildly crispy on the outside and delicious. The coconut chutney was fresh, with a strong chili kick, almost like it was tailor made for me (as I have said, "Life without spice is no life at all"). For my lunch carry out, I chose the two vegetable item combo. For the vegetables, the lentils and the Potato with green pepper. Selected flavored rice and Poori for the bread option. It also came with Raita and Pickle. I had this take out later in the evening. One thing is clear. In most Indian food outlets of this sort, there are the standard dishes and where ever you buy them, they taste almost the same. What I found with the food here was that it was markedly different. There is more depth of taste and flavor. Sliced cinnamon quills, black round pepper corns, whole curry leaves and other spices that enhanced every component of my lunch. This does not come cheap. Their small take out curry containers are $4.99, the large is $17.99. Seems to be the standard, for this brand's branches. No doubt, they are the highest prices for Indian fast food, if you compare them with the current existing competition anywhere in this vicinity. Service was caring, attentive and well delivered.

This was the first time shopping at an Indian market so I didn't know what to expect. There was a small food shop serving Indian food and all of the customers were Indian - that's a good sign of its authenticity. It wasn't lunch or dinner time so I didn't get anything but made a mental note to go try it next time. The aisles were in disarray, there were unopened boxes & opened boxes of merchandise on the floor of each aisle. Wasn't clear on what most of the merchandise was. I really want to go back with one of my Indian friends to explain what things are & show me what I should get. The henna hair dye that I purchased turned out to be WAY better than what I got on the popular online store. The prices of items seemed fair. The produce seemed tired & old.
