Nice Mediterranean spot in the neighborhood on York Blvd. It's not super fancy dining but the food is great and cooked as you order. I got the chicken and beef combo with rice and salad. The portions were huge and priced fairly. It comes with a couple of pita bread and garlic spread. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come here again and get their beef combo plate next time. The nice lady also gave us some complimentary chicken wings, which were flavorful. Love it!

As with everything, and bit on the pricey side...but I will say it felt it was worth it. We ordered the #11beef and chicken combo plate (falafel + salad side) and a #22 beef wrap (hummus side). The salad with combo was very good, not just some greens thrown on the plate. There was lettuce, spinach, and chopped tomato with cucumber. Dressing was not the typical yogurt, but a citrus oil that was very good. The falafel side was an order u to itself, and was piping hot/fresh! The beef in the wrap was the same as the combo plate (not the luleh/ground meat). Wow!! It was grilled to perfection and tender!! The chicken was also very thick, not fatty, and very flavorful. Beware the toum (garlic spread)...it's POTENT . Super bonus points for giving extra bread (lavash) with dinner. It was the perfect amount with the extra hummus and my combo plate. Cons: no pickles with the combo plate. Water is $2/bottle for Costco/Kirkland, which I don't understand as all their utensils and plates are not plastic, so why not offer tap water, too? Parking lot is very "active" with the laundromat next door.

I have been going to this place for years. I'm very friendly staff and good relaxing ambience, the food is always delicious and what I like specifically about this place is that the meat is juicy and flavorful. This service is usually relatively fast. Have enough tables and also parking space.

Several years later, everything was positive. The takeout was nicely arranged in its box, looked appealing, and the salad leaves were fresh. The kabob meat (chicken and lamb) were both wonderfully tender and juicy. The rice was a very charming base. All taken together, the place was delicious and worth the money. PREVIOUS REVIEW There are two locations, one in Pasadena, one in Eagle Rock. What do I expect for a quick lunch place?? Quick (as it says), good quality food, and reasonable price. This place meets most of these criteria: the wrap I chicken chose from a whole variety of Mediterranean choices was fresh, juicy and I would not hesitate to try more items from the menu; it is comparably pricy (14.21$ with beloved diet coke); but most importantly the service was (despite emptiness of the place and acknowledged by the chef with an apology) exceedingly slow. Thanks that I have an iPhone ...

used to love dining at Elena's in Glendale, but after the change in ownership, both the prices and the food shifted. Recently, I've been going to York Kabob, and it's starting to bring back the feeling of how Elena's used to be. Today I tried the lamb chops, and they were excellent--perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of salt, and not at all gamy. If you're in the Highland Park, CA area, I highly recommend York Kabob. It's not fancy, but the food is consistently delicious!

Chicken & Beef Kabob Combo Plate and Medium baba ganoush side and free eggplant dip.

My car was in the shop and I was starving so we ordered a late lunch via Delivery through DoorDash yesterday. I received $7 off bc it was placed during "happy hour promo" window on the app but still came out to $35 with taxes, fees tip. I ordered the chicken kebab + beef lule kabob combo, medium size Babaganoush and received a free small eggplant tomato dip. The meat was of high quality for sure, but I found the combo to be a bit lackluster for the price $25. I thought the salad would've been a cucumber type when it was just bagged lettuce with a weird vinegar type dressing and some rice. No hummus, or other vegetable or spread side came with it. Note: I could've received the grilled pepper and tomato instead of the salad. The medium size baba ghanouj was also small when comparing with other places (and didn't come with bread). Both dip and garlic spread seem to have a lot of ground pepper in it. I also didn't realize that this would be served with lavash instead of pita bread - but it makes sense learning later that this is a more a Persian establishment. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I probably will try other places.

Excellent service! staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is great! My steak was very fresh and the rice very tasty! The restaurant itself is clean and well kept. We got o sample the eggplant dip as we waited for our order. It was really good. Would recommend this place :)

Turmeric Braised Chicken - The dish was a bit on the basic end, not a lot of seasoning but you could taste the tumeric. Chicken was tender but slightly on the drier side which was a bit surprising considering it was dark meat (6.5/10) Kofteh Tabrizi - The tomato taste was prominent in the broth but the meatball itself was overly salty. The flavor was one note, I can't see myself ordering this again as I've heard this dish should have more complex flavors so I was disappointed (5.5/10) Kotlet Plate - As you can see from my picture, the kotlet was burnt beyond repair and I could taste the bitterness from the overused oil they used to fry it. I did like the yogurt spread and the pickles that came with it but I did not like the kotlet at all. We didn't bother asking them to replace it (4/10) Mirza Ghasemi w/ Barbari bread - The star of this whole experience was the Mirza Ghasemi, the roasted eggplant and tomato spread came cold and it was the most delicious thing we had. One of my friends vacuumed it right up before the rest of us could have seconds. Bread was a bit dry but it was a great vehicle for the Mirza (8.5/10) Lamb Gheimeh - Lamb was tender and it had some nice spices infused in there but it didn't wow me in any way (7/10) Sholezard - Our waitress brought over some complimentary Ceylon tea with the Sholezard which was kind. This rice dessert was not too sweet. The warmth and saffron ended our meal in a comforting way. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't get it again (7/10) +1 star for the service

The beef koobideh and beef barg were not just disappointing they were concerning. The meat tasted off, like it was either going bad or being mixed with old product. That's not a small issue, that's a serious quality and food safety concern. The Shirazi salad has completely lost its authenticity. Instead of the fresh, bright lime/lemon flavor it should have, it tasted like it was tossed in a bottled dressing. Completely unacceptable for a place that used to do this right. The hummus came with bread that was stale and hard, which just adds to the overall lack of care coming out of the kitchen. And then the pricing charging extra for rice and Shirazi salad on top of already $28 plates is excessive and feels like nickel-and-diming customers. It's honestly disappointing to see how far this place has fallen. Between the drop in food quality, lack of freshness, and inflated pricing, I won't be returning.

Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. My family and I went here one afternoon and as we sat down, the attendant from the restaurant told us that the specific table we were sitting on wasn't part of the restaurant and we were not going to be served if we sat there in a very rude tone. We went ahead and moved. Then we went up to the cashier to order our food and the two people that were there were busy talking to each other in farsi about a customer that just came and didn't tip along with some very vulgar language. Then as we were ordering, we told them it was our first time and we got no smile or anything, very still faces like whatever. We ordered two Koobideh wraps and a few other things. It was very uncomfortable. The Cashier didn't even speak to us. As we sat down we were "served" after we HAD to ask if we get bread and onions and water because we saw that they were taking those things to other tables. The Koobideh wrap tasted like Rubber and you could barely hold it together as it was drenched with the sauce and all soggy. Even my 1 year old wouldn't eat it. We had to open up the sandwiches and eat them with a fork. It was not a good experience. Tip for the owner: You should probably remind your employees that some of your customers are Persian and they will understand them talking shit.
