Nice Mediterranean spot in the neighborhood on York Blvd. It's not super fancy dining but the food is great and cooked as you order. I got the chicken and beef combo with rice and salad. The portions were huge and priced fairly. It comes with a couple of pita bread and garlic spread. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I cannot pass by the Eaglerock/Glendale/Pasadena area without thinking how silly it would be to go anywhere else. It's for sure my new top spot. I watched them make my food to order. As with everything, and bit on the pricey side...but I will say it felt it was worth it. We ordered the #11beef and chicken combo plate (falafel + salad side) and a #22 beef wrap (hummus side). The salad with combo was very good, not just some greens thrown on the plate. There was lettuce, spinach, and chopped tomato with cucumber. Dressing was not the typical yogurt, but a citrus oil that was very good. The falafel side was an order u to itself, and was piping hot/fresh! The beef in the wrap was the same as the combo plate (not the luleh/ground meat). Wow!! It was grilled to perfection and tender!! The chicken was also very thick, not fatty, and very flavorful. Beware the toum (garlic spread)...it's POTENT . Super bonus points for giving extra bread (lavash) with dinner. It was the perfect amount with the extra hummus and my combo plate. Cons: no pickles with the combo plate. Water is $2/bottle for Costco/Kirkland, which I don't understand as all their utensils and plates are not plastic, so why not offer tap water, too? The parking lot is tiny tiny and it's a busy street so parking isn't the best - save time and order ahead for a quick pickup so you don't have to worry about parking for too long. Here's what we ordered: -Chicken and Beef Luleh kabobs with rice and hummus. I absolutely love the raw onions on the side - spiciest raw onions I've ever had. The chicken luleh is better than the beef IMO. But both are packed with flavor and not dry. -Chicken bowl (currently a special item). My new fave. It's basically rice, diced chicken breast and smashed roasted tomatoes all mixed together. It just meshes together so well and saves me the work of having to mix things myself. My car was in the shop and I was starving so we ordered a late lunch via Delivery through DoorDash yesterday. I received $7 off bc it was placed during "happy hour promo" window on the app but still came out to $35 with taxes, fees tip. I ordered the chicken kebab + beef lule kabob combo, medium size Babaganoush and received a free small eggplant tomato dip. The meat was of high quality for sure, but I found the combo to be a bit lackluster for the price $25. I thought the salad would've been a cucumber type when it was just bagged lettuce with a weird vinegar type dressing and some rice. No hummus, or other vegetable or spread side came with it. Note: I could've received the grilled pepper and tomato instead of the salad. The medium size baba ghanouj was also small when comparing with other places (and didn't come with bread). Both dip and garlic spread seem to have a lot of ground pepper in it. I also didn't realize that this would be served with lavash instead of pita bread - but it makes sense learning later that this is a more a Persian establishment. I ordered thru grubhub. 1 chicken & beef kabob and 2 luleh kabob. The courier delivered a wrong order. I got 2 chicken & beef kabob, no luleh kabob. I called York Kabob they told me that the courier picked up a wrong order and that my food order are still there. I asked what should I do? They told me to eat it even though i am missing another item. And I paid for it. I am willing to take this wrong order and asked them if they can remove the other item that was charged on my credit card. They said no. How do I accept this knowing I paid for 3 meals and I am getting only 2 meals? I contacted the courier and he told me that it's the restaurants fault not the courier. Because they are the one who handed him the order. If you are the courier why don't you check the item order before taking off. This is very unprofessional and no accountability. Recently, I've been going to York Kabob, and it's starting to bring back the feeling of how Elena's used to be. He told me it would take about 15 minutes to come out and he was spot on. I ordered the chicken thigh skewer combo with babaganoush on the side. I sometimes find chicken boring, but this was juicy and flavorful. Especially with the Sumac seasoning he recommended I put on. The babaganoush was outstanding. I've tried babaganoush many times and this one stood out. Delicious smoky, creamy flavor. I got my combo with a salad. I'm sure rice would have been a better pairing, but I was going for the healthy option. The salad was really basic, served under the chicken with a light dressing. It seems like most of his customers order takeout online, for what that's worth. The seating area is very clean and spacious, I was comfortable eating here. Next to the restaurant is a laundry mat. We step in the restaurant they people in the restaurant waiting for their orders. We look the menu display on the wall and see what we like to order. My wife and I decided order the same item the chicken kabobs and also a salad. They say it will take 15 to 20 minutes to our meal after the 20 minutes was up our meal was ready. I brought it outside where my wife sitting down one of the two tables outside. The food smell really good and I couldn't wait to take a bite of the chicken kabobs. The meal have the chicken kabobs,rice,onion and pita bread and my wife order the same instead of the onion she ask humus. The chicken kabobs have amazing great flavor that Ibreally enjoy very much and was really good combining with onions and the garlic spread with pita bread great flavor combine. Ordered a luleh combo plate with 2 extra sides that came out to $32. The plate comes with 4 skewers of luleh (2 chicken and 2 beef) and lots of rice. Everything else is a very sad portion. $4 for a handful of fries, $4 for a single bbq tomato and pepper. The plate comes with two slivers of lavash, enough to wrap one out of 4 pieces of meat. I was in the area hosting an Open House as a Real Estate Agent. I wanted something yummy & healthy to eat before it started so me and my business partner stopped by to pick something up. We both eat Middle Eastern food quiet often & I am middle eastern myself. I have ate kabob since I was 6 years old and I eat it every week. First of all: the meat itself is mediocre at best, I give it a 6. The generic lettuce was filled with the water used to wash it, disgusting. The onion and hummus was okay, nothing special. The price is okay, about $12-14 for a plate, but I wouldn't come here again unless it was the only restaurant in a 10 mile radius. The location apparently is not that great either.
