I first came to Dr. Woo over 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with PCOS by my endocrinologist. I had already experienced 3 miscarriages in an 18 month period and gone through an unsuccessful IVF cycle. Dr. Woo came highly recommended by at least 4 friends who had successfully been treated by Dr. Woo for acupuncture that resulted in healthy pregnancies and births of healthy babies. I was hopeful, intending to see Dr. Woo for acupuncture to get to a healthy state and go back for another embryo transfer. Dr. Woo is a very kind, patient and empathetic physician. He seeks to understand your needs and concerns and patiently guides you through the process towards better health. I saw Dr. Woo on a weekly basis for about 6 months and he surprised me by telling me he believed I was healthy enough to conceive naturally. I trusted Dr. Woo's opinion and I became pregnant with my rainbow baby within 2 months of trying. Throughout the pregnancy, I saw Dr. Woo twice a week initially to stabilize the pregnancy and once stabilized, I saw him weekly until I gave birth. Seeing Dr. Woo gave me the ability to take care of my internal medicinal needs, but also my chiropractic needs. As the pregnancy progressed, I began to experience hip and back pain because I have a short torso, not giving my baby much room to grow without pushing down on my pelvis. I've been coming here for treatment for years and it still shocks me how amazing and effective their treatment is. Dr. Woo is extremely knowledgeable in his Chiropractic and Acupuncture practices and as a long-distance runner, I am always coming in for arch, hip, knee, and shin splints treatment or adjustments. Dr. Woo is really great at catering towards the needs of the patient, asking what they need treated every time. I had my shin splints healed through acupuncture numerous times and my hip flexor pain is always much better after I come for treatment. Another time I was having major stomach issues and couldn't digest any food. I was literally eating bread and bananas and still having major stomach pains on top of being stuck sitting all day. However, after one session of acupuncture, the pain subsided, I was able to start eating fruits and more fibrous foods, and I could begin exercising again. Well this review is long due. I am so glad to find the Chiropractor near to my place. Few months back I had sudden wrist pain and was so extreme that I was literally crying. I went to this place because this was the only one having same day appointment availability. Dr tried to understand the issues and gave acupuncture and used TENS even. Since it was my first time for acupuncture I was not convinced but Dr never insisted me for it, instead said if I am not comfortable he would not do it. I was recommended to do acupuncture in conjunction with IVF treatment for infertility. My IVF doctor recommended it. I was told that given my bloodwork it would be very hard to conceive naturally and I needed to start IVF ASAP. I started acupuncture with Dr Woo at Radiant Chiropractic and Acupuncture in September 2021 while I was waiting for my insurance to approve IVF. At first I was hesitant due to the additional cost and because I was skeptical it would help. By January 2022 I became pregnant naturally. I never ended up needing IVF but did do a round of IUI which did not work. It was such a miracle given everything the western doctors told me about my chances. I continued going to Dr. Woo throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Woo provided acupuncture to help ease my pregnancy symptoms. I have a very physical job and had multiple coworkers who were pregnant alongside me. I definitely felt like I had an easier pregnancy compared to my coworkers doing the same job and I believe much of this can be attributed to Dr. Woo's care. I had great energy up until the last trimester (I even went hiking through multiple national parks at 22 weeks pregnant), great appetite without nausea, and overall felt pretty good. Dr. Woo also did some chiropractic adjustments for my neck pain and sciatica which helped me get through my long days at work in a medical setting while pregnant. After I delivered my baby had some issues with reflux and Dr. Woo showed me some gentle massages to help ease my baby's symptoms. Again I am a student of western medicine and was somewhat skeptical. I don't know where to begin... I have been getting frequent migraines for years now. I have been in a few car accidents and have had slight hormonal imbalances so there are a number of things that cause my migraines. Winnie was able to get me an appointment the very next day at a time that was perfect for my crazy schedule. I showed up and was immediately greeted and welcomed with a charming smile. Dr. Woo was also there to greet me which made me feel extremely comfortable. After filling out some paperwork, I went to have a consultation first with Dr. Woo. We discussed what might be triggering my headaches/migraines and then proceeded to a nice and very clean patient room where Dr. Woo loosened up my very tight and tense neck/shoulders. We then began the acupuncture. This was my first time and surely not my last. Dr. Woo is quick with the needles although you can't really feel them at all. After a hand specialist stated that my only remaining option for the problem with my ulnar nerve was invasive surgery, removing tissues that held my nerve in place, and waiting 12 months to see if that helped, well I decided it was time to try something else before such a commitment to the unknown. He runs a one person practice in Sunnyvale, with the assistance in the office of his always friendly and helpful wife; I state one person practice though have never had to wait more than a minute or two for my appointment. Dr. Woo is more than knowledgeable and his ability to blend practices from his education, training, and years of experience is phenomenal; couple that with a bed side manner that is bar none and you have the recipe for success. I must also admit, I have a slight fear of needles and Dr. Woo was nothing short of patient, explaining how everything works and ensuring my comfort with the whole process before beginning. One of the great things about losing a large amount of weight is the fact that a lot of body aches and pains start to go away. Unfortunately, one pain in my lower back just wouldn't go away, no matter how much weight I lost. I tried to massage it away with numerous visits to massage therapists, but that didn't help at all. On a friend's suggestion, I decided to go to a chiropractor instead and, on another friend's referral, decided to try Dr. Woo at his fairly new practice in Sunnyvale. I gotta be honest, I'm a little squeamish when it comes to taking care of anything medically related that's not a basic cough/cold/infection. Partly the fear of needles, partly the fear of the unknown. In fact, I'd never really gone to a chiropractor before and was pretty nervous. But when I arrived, Dr. Woo put my mind at easy by giving me a quick tour of the office and demonstrated some of the machines and basic techniques used in his practice. I then had a 10-minute consultation on my medical history and current problems. Dr. Woo then took the time to explain his training in both eastern and western chiropractic medicine and how he uses either or both methods in his practice. Afterwards, I was given a through hands-on exam where, unexpectedly for me, he discovered that my back and pelvis were out of alignment, causing me some posture problems and pain. In fact, he even noticed a slight curvature of my upper back, indicating some possible mild scoliosis. He then attached some electropads to try and relax my back so he could work on adjusting those areas. He also allowed me to try acupuncture for the first time in my life to see if that would help bring some relief to my problems. To finish up my treatment, he showed me a half-dozen simple fitness exercises that I could perform at home to help strengthen my body's core muscles to help keep my back in alignment. Overall, the whole treatment lasted about an hour and I definitely felt better afterwards. As a first timer to a chiropractic practice, Dr. Woo's simple explanations were great and I learned more about my back in that one hour than I ever thought imaginable. Although I don't think I could continue to stomach the thought of needles and acupuncture, I am definitely now armed with the tools and the resources to focus on fixing my back problems. My 97 year old grandfather was having some problems with chronic pain and swelling in his feet due to poor circulation and athletes foot. It kept the poor guy up at night. I paid my grandparents a visit directly after a chiropractic/acupuncture session with Dr. Woo. When I saw my grandfathers swelling, I asked my grandfather if I should give him a call to see if he would fit him in. My grandfather is very stubborn and my initial thought was he would not be open to it. The office processes my insurance without any problems, and Winnie is always willing to go the extra mile to work through insurance hiccups without calling me in to referee. And, I have to say, I've never seen anyone as skilled at managing insurance claims as Winnie - I've never run into any problems she couldn't fix! I received acupuncture in Taiwan in the past, but healing from sports injuries was slow, therefore I usually stopped the treatment. I met Dr. Woo 3 years ago, he was trained in Davis CA and his approach works way quicker. He truly helped me to have a faster healing time mostly from skiing mild injuries. Dr. Woo is very knowledgeable and has done a great job on my knees...however, I had to reschedule twice because of personal reasons and the woman on the phone told me she was gonna charge me a $35 cancelation fee because I called twice with a last minute notice...which was not true. I called the first time, days in advanced and I told her that and she said usually they waive the fee the first time which wasn't clear at all. Do they waive it the first time for a last minute notice or do they waive the first time you cancel at all? Still not clear. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. read more

This review is sorely for scheduling/ customer service. I came to see Dr. Woo about a month ago for 2 things - my right trapezius muscle (shoulder) & unknown itchy forearms during my sleep at night. After taking herb powder prescribed by Dr. Woo, my forearm itchiness was gone! It's like magic. My right trapezius situation remains the same, which was probably caused by my cervical disc & poor posture that I found out from a MRI scan about 3 weeks ago. I didn't expect that it will go away with just one session with Dr. Woo. At check out, Winnie (Dr. Woo's wife) told me out of nowhere that they will soon be out of network of Anthem Blue Cross due to cost and how great of a value that I am receiving from Dr. Woo. I found it odd but I totally respect whatever Winnie has to say and I smiled and nodded. She was friendly like everyone said. After coming back from vacation, I decided to seek help from Dr. Woo again for my herniated disc, I also made appointment for my husband who also suffers from the same problem. I made an appointment for myself last week. This week, I called the office to check if it's okay to do acupuncture on the same day as my PT session. I am totally new to PT and thought it was okay to do it the same day. Winnie told me that it was not okay, due to insurance billing. And I got re-scheduled to the other day of the same week. Today, I called Dr. Woo office and left a voice message checking if there is any opening this week to see my husband, just in case there is any cancellation(very common at Dr office). Winnie called me back, and I told her that we wanted one more appointment this week for my husband, while keeping the next week appointment. Then, she raised her voice and gave me attitude saying that Dr. Woo is very busy, they are fully booked this week and that she is already doing me a favor of scheduling one next week for him. She went on and on saying that she has 2 kids at home, 4 pm is the last one she can fit in a new patient, and it requires 2 weeks in advance to book anything after 4pm. I can hear the frustration and emotion during the conversation. Then, I tried to book ahead for the upcoming ones after 4pm appointment, she told me to have my husband called her directly which I found it very odd. She got very upset when I disagreed, and she started venting how doing my scheduling is wasting her resources. And I am the WORST patient out of all the patients that she has over the past 7 years. I told her in plain tone - I think it's very rude for you to say such things and what you said is not true. Then, she said if both of us are unhappy, she thinks I should find some other Dr. FACT: My appointment needs to be re-arranged to another day due to "billing" issue, and I agree with her. Then, we just wanted to check if they can fit 1 more appointment this week, and I was treated like that? Who is the worst here? I am usually pretty friendly to everyone, let along she is helping me on scheduling. I am very disappointed at all these. The whole conversation with Winnie makes me feel that she is doing me a huge favor to be seen by Dr. Woo. Do I or any other patients want to feel this way when they come to a practice? I guess not. There are actually other good acupuncture places around the area - Gen acupuncture, Lei Acupuncture & Herb, Los Altos Acupuncture Center, Julie Hung Acupuncture, Thriving Chiropractic. And their front desk staff are truly friendly, efficient and professional. I have never had this kind of problem with any Dr office before. I have a feeling that all would have been better if I dealt with non-family member of a doctor when it comes to scheduling. read more

Dr Woo and his staff are professional, friendly and caring. I hurt my mid back carrying my baby inside her carseat, the pain was so intense I had to pop painkillers to sleep.
