Was excited to find radically curly salon on Yelp and was hoping my days of bad hair cuts were over. Booked an appt with the natural hair "specialist". On the website the curly cut service includes shampoo, wash, cut, style (wash n go or diffused for curlies). To start off, she was late. I came with my hair detangled in 2 flat twists. I showed her pics of my hair in a wash n go, to show her the shape and how I wanted the shape the SAME, just a trim. She says she's got it. Picks up the scissors then and there and attempts to start cutting...my hair was just taken down from 2 strand flat twists, not even close to my natural curl pattern. Should've been a red flag and left then. I told her not to cut my hair like that, wouldn't even be a curly cut and would come out uneven, which she should already know. Then I tell her what the curly cut description from the website said. Idk why the stylist wouldn't even know the standard procedures of a service they're supposed to provide. So we shampoo, condition, now she gets to cutting. Which still doesn't seem right since she hadn't even detangled my hair, which also equates to an uneven cut. That's just common sense, to detangle before cutting or styling. But she assured me she's a professional, knows what she's doing. Section by section she pulls my hair out of its curls and cuts the ends. Seriously! She cuts my hair with my curls undefined and wet. When she's done cutting, Entirely different shape than I had before and significantly shorter . To top it off, her next appt came in right as she started styling my hair, so she rushed the styling, bottom half of my head the curls were defined the top half they weren't at all. Huge set back in my hair journey . Seriously disaster. Last time I let a stylist touch my hair with scissors. If you are a natural trying to retain your length and get an even hair cut, be weary. An absolute disappointment. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30, at 2:06 I get a call from Briahna asking if I could come at 3. I told her I was already on my way, but I'll wait. When I arrived at 3, she was washing someones' hair, and said to give her a few minutes. At about 3:30....."I'm sorry I'm running late, I just need to dry her hair". Being that I had drove from the Northwest, and had been truly looking forward to this appointment all week.......like a dummy I waited. I have lived in Vegas for 15 years and have gone to a beautician twice. This experience has told that it's just not in the cards for to have my hair done in this town. I was scheduled for a "curly cut" and a "wash and go".......I left with my hair washed, ends trimmed(nothing near the pic of the shape I showed her), and a wet afro. I was very disappointed with my hair cut, and the overall experience. I had an appointed but when i got there, it seemed like no one knew, I had to sit out in the hall while she finished someone's hair. According to their website, this takes 60 minutes. However my haircut was less than 10 minutes. I have fine curly hair, she kept running her comb and fingers through it dry, and it kept frizzing up. she cut it, then had her assistant wet my hair and condition it. then diffuse it, once again, fingers were being run through my hair making it frizzy. I tried explaining I didn't want it cut short because I naturally dry my hair at home and it gets very curly and would be extremely short. Once again my stylist asked if I wanted to cut off more or leave it where it is. at that point, I said I hated my hair. I have had terrible experiences with past "curly hair experts" and I expressed my concern to her, she then noticed she needed to cut some pieces on the back of my hair that she missed the first time. I told her I didn't want a short boy cut, I don't look good like that. And my worry was because my hair was cut right above my shoulders and that I would get home and it would curl up short. She said she would not cut my hair anymore until I went home and thought about it and then come back in a week to decide. She felt I would have a melt down/ panic attack if she cut it shorter than she already did. I did not have my hair styled and i left with it look like a big frizzy poof. I kept asking for her professional opinion and what to do to be able to grow it out while cutting off the dead hair. Another thing I noticed was that she was processing another clients hair while, also doing my hair, I think that if a client has a time slot for their hair, it should be only for their hair. I am now home, and yes, my hair has curled up very much and is short. I just wanted a style, a cut. I even showed her a picture of a style, but I guess that didn't mean anything. Brought my daughter in today for her 1st cut. It was long overdue but we were nervous about finding the right person that knows curly hair and can handle her texture. Miori did an amazing job! Her and Danielle are so nice and answered all of mine and my husband's questions. I was excited to hear that they offer a class where they teach you how to style your hair step by step. I need lots of help with learning how to care and maintain my daughter's hair so I will definitely take advantage of that. Moved to Vegas last April, and I've been more than scared to let anyone touch my naturally curly hair in fear that I'd end up bald or worse. After much research and a leap of faith, I've got to say that I'm extremely pleased with the service I received at Hair Artisans. I was in Danielle's chair just seconds after my actual appointment time, which is next to impossible anywhere else on a Saturday afternoon. Danielle is as pleasant as they come and asked a thorough series of questions to make sure she was giving me just the right treatments. She worked quickly, and before I knew it, I had an immaculate cut, color and blow-out. My hair of 20 years is a beast. One stylist actually turned me away because my natural hair intimidated her. I haven't had a haircut since I was a child and I've had anxiety with anyone touching my hair (bad experience from a relaxer at 13 that left me with a bald spot). I needed a haircut because 1) it was getting too hard for me to manage 2) split ends that was hampering growth and 3) I was going to be on Katie Couric's show. I looked up natural curly salons in Vegas and found Hair Artisans. I called them first and asked how they cut natural hair because that would determine whether they knew what they were doing or not. When Danielle said they cut it dry I immediately felt good about my decision to go ahead and book an appointment. I came in the following day with the beast unleashed, I felt apprehensive because I didn't want to be turned down again. Rather than feeling intimidated, everyone at the salon were amazed with my hair. To them it was gorgeous, to me it was still a beast. Danielle co-consulted with me while I waited for Arlene who was to cut my hair and discussed what needed to be done with my unshapely, unruly natural hair. She made me feel comfortable and dispelled my worries. To put my hair in perspective, when stretched it reached my waist. Apparently, I have different textures too so the back would be really tightly curly and thick while the front would have bigger curls. I couldn't wear my hair out because it looked like a bird's nest - no shape and it was too long and big. Arlene arrived and immediately got to work. I was just so happy they didn't turn me down. She cut off the "see-through" ends and layered my hair to give it shape. She then shampooed, conditioned, and detangled my hair, which I felt so bad for because it's almost like punishment to have to detangle my hair. However, they seemed to enjoy it. Danielle and Arlene tag-teamed during styling showed me the process of shingling which further defined the shape and curls. I was so happy to see the end result AND to finally be able to wear my hair out. I felt like a D-I-V-A afterward. They recommended products for me to put on my hair, and for a college student, the products were affordable. The whole process was only $40! I couldn't believe it. Of course, I tipped them generously. I'm so grateful to them. I enjoyed my experience and am extremely happy of the outcome. I've never received so many compliments and likes on Facebook after I posted the new hair style. Sooooo happy! Definitely will be going back to them. Roughly two months ago I started my search for a stylist who would understand my hair. I have really curly hair and it is hard to find a person who has experienced in the curls. I came across Radically Curly hair via internet search and my heart stop because I was like finally a salon who specializes in curls. Yippee. I called several time to book an appointment and left a message but did not receive a return call, which was okay as the Website stated they are super busy. The online website booking tool was booked out for three weeks in advance so I decided to visit the salon and see if I can get in. Upon my arrival Danielle and Tiara greeted me and thy were super nice and schedule me the next day. I arrived to my schedule appointment with Tiara and explained to her my hair concerns and what style I was going for. I had some chemical damage in the front of my hair and wanted Tiara to give me some bangs and I expressed to her that length is very important to me. Tiara and I collaborated and agreed that she will trim my hair in stages so it will not be so dramatic. So she did and I was happy with the cut ans stated to come back in a month and we will trim some more. I was like cool. Well while I was still sitting in the chair Danielle came over and started telling me that I should cut all the damaged hair be free from it. I ask her several times how short it would be and I was like wow..I am not sure about it. She insisted that would be the best option and after the summer it will grow back. I let her influence me to cut my hair because I trusted her because she is the professional. So I agree and the entire time I was so nervous and terrified. When the job completed and she turned me around I literally cried and was shocked. I went from shoulder length to so short that I could not even pull my hair into a ponytail. All I want is to run out the store. Tiara must have felt my pain and sat with me and comfort me and gave me tips on how to style my hair, what products and supplements I could use to speed my hair growth. I left the store and cried more in my car. Called my boyfriend and told him I did not want to come home because I am so ugly. For days I tried to embrace my look and it could no overcome it. I hated looking into the mirror and was so embarrassed. I finally decided to get extensions which is crazy because I had beautiful hair. I had to spend $500 . Danielle I just wanted to let you know that you may want to think about people's psychological aftermath. I brought my daughter in to get a hair cut with Briahna. She did an awesome job and was really amazing with her. We've had bad experiences at other salons with the stylist being too rough but my daughter was so happy when we left because Briahna really went out of her way to make sure she was comfortable and not in pain. She gave me some great tips on how to care for her hair and I love that she sat down and took her time to give us advice. Also, they have a really good positive vibe at the salon and it made the whole experience great. She styled my daughters hair in cute braids and she just loved it. I want to start off saying I'm very mixed and have a fear of stylist because I feel like my curls haven't had the best treatment in the past. I haven't cut my hair in YEARS and Tiara did such a great job. We got so rid of so much dead weight and my curls are tight and happy and feel 15 years younger. I'm about to sound like a paid commercial but no one has to pay me to talk about Danielle. Simply put she's an artist. I've been singing her praises for years. My Mom and I flew in from Massachusetts. First stop, Radically Curly. We were walk-ins (which I don't recommend because artists should never be rushed) and she only had time for one cut (No she didn't. That was her lunch break). My Mom has been cutting her own hair for years. She is extremely critical but not this time. She is LOVING her hair. Even as a walk-in, my Mom got a dry and wet cut. Her hair NEVER looked better. Holy WOW! I have gone 39 years with 'okay' hair cuts. I've wanted a great cut but always end up with a 'meh, it'll work' cut...until now. I brought in pictures because I have a hard time explaining what I want. Tiara looked at them with me as I explained what I saw the differences to be...and she understood what I was looking for right away! (So maybe I hadn't been explaining it wrong to begin with?) The ladies working couldn't have been any cooler and fun. The vibe was so upbeat and fun and it was just a great experience all around!! So uplifting and empowering. I was able to watch all 3 ladies in action and they are all amazing at what they do! They bounced ideas off each other and worked as a team so beautifully. I just moved here in January, and was worried about letting a new hair stylist highlight my hair. Ive been with the same one for about 10 years. I did my research and thankfully found Hair Artisans. Danielle was my first point of contact. She was very attentive, talking with me first about my concerns and wishes, and then linked me up with Candace, who is knowledgeable about fine hair. if you're looking for a deva cut this is not the place, they do cut curl by curl but they stretched your curls when they cut them and any curly girl knows that disturbs the curl pattern and isn't an actual representation. i give it 3 stars because it is a nice looking shop, very clean and friendly staff but the curl cutting process is very off and different from what i ever had before when i get a curly cut. Danielle cut my hair, once she started cutting i started to cringe a little because of how much she was cutting off unnecessarily. the plus side of cutting so much hair off I guess is a fresh start and having 100% healthy hair but i think the cut was drastic and unnecessary and length could have been preserved if she didn't pull on the curls so much and stretch them out.. read more

If you're looking for a real Devacut this isn't what I got. I booked for a curly cut and highlights with Danielle. A real curly cut should be curl by curl. Usually takes about 2 hours. I ended up getting my hair cut in 4 big chunks. She claims I didn't book for the highlights and stated "she didn't have time" even though my booking email confirms I booked for what I said. She slapped some black dye on my head instead and used Shea Moisture and Cantu leave in on my hair. Both products I have at home, purchased at Walmart for my daughters. She left my hair SOAKING wet, coated white with product and told me air drying was best and sent me out the door. The entire appt was 1.5 hours! I should have spoken up but I honestly was trying everything in my power to not break down. Once my hair dried it was horribly uneven and I had suuuper short pieces on top sticking straight up and random long rogue hairs. I had to trim that myself. I cried for 2 days straight!! Now fast forward to a few months and I went to a NEW unrelated stylist who uses ALL devacurl products. My hair was styled with professional products and diffused and dried. She didn't rush me at all. Explained everything and taught me the correct product application. I left her chair feeling beautiful and didn't cry!! read more

This was by far the best experience I've ever had in a hair salon. Danielle styled my hair and she was great. She promoted healthy hair and she educated me while she was styling my hair. The first thing we talked about when I came in for my appointment was the over all health of my hair. I booked a curly makeover with her and I was hoping to go blonde. After talking about the health of my hair she did two test strands with two different developers to see how my hair would respond to both. She asked me which strand I liked best and we continued on from there. She then toned my hair and styled it for me before she shaped my curls. She cut my hair when it was completely dry and styled to my liking. She asked me how much I was comfortable with cutting off before she started shaping and I really appreciated that. My end result was AMAZING. I went from having hair that was previously died jet black using a box dye at home to being a honey dipped, rose gold beauty. I live in Virginia, and was visiting Henderson to visit my parents. I wanted to have haircut redone and restyled, as I wasn't happy with the cut I received in Virginia. I chose to go to Hair Artisans, and chose Alexa as my stylist. She was so nice, and very helpful. She made measures to make sure I got he cut I wanted. I was very appreciative of that. I loved my new, improved hairstyle so much, I bought some Kevin Murphy products from her as well. Now I know where to go whenever I come back to Henderson.
