I actually came here for a workout event held by my kickboxing gym. After our workout, I popped in to grab an alcoholic beverage. Unfortunately I came on a Sunday so I had to buy a pastry in order to buy an alcoholic frozen. The frozen Saturn they had on tap was amazing! Too bad the glass was quite small. $12 for a frozen was definitely on the more expensive side especially for a more casual bar setting. What I do like about this place is that it's dog friendly and had much shade. My dog was quite comfortable chilling in the shade while I worked out. Overall I don't really think it was anything special compared to all the other casual bars around Austin. read more

Stoked for the new Radio East location! We visited their second day open and they had a few fun bands scheduled to play beginning at 7pm. The tables nearest the stage were $10 and the tables inside and out front did not have a cover charge. The vibes were great! We ordered a few IPAs and their Fall Old Fashioned. The cocktail was my fave. It was well balanced and fun to try. The bartenders were cranking out drinks and the lines never got too long. We'll be back! read more

If you're familiar with Austin outdoor bars, then you probably been to a place like this, that said that's not a bad thing. It's got a big outdoor space and a very roomy indoor area for the drinks. Just section of beers are satisfying. There's a farmers market in the back and a big stage for a live band to play as well. Use have to drive a little further out to get all of those things put together so we had a great time and we came to visit. read more

We're super happy and grateful to have Radio in southeast Austin. Much needed and fills a gap we were missing. Quality coffee and cocktails and some of the best food trucks in Austin to boot: Veracruz, side eye pie and a couple others I've yet to try. The weather that day was perfect to be seating outside with our coffees, they have croissants and the one with chocolate inside is delicious, the only thing I was upset is that they don't have like a microwave at least to warm up the croissants. This is now my new favorite study spot. I've never been too fancy on the original location due to the parking being a mess and there never seems to be an open table. But this location does not share the same problems. I was a little worried when arriving because I didn't know what the parking situation was going to be like but they have a huge parking lot! They also have a giant space to work with, they have seating all around the front, side and back of the shop. It looks like they have a stage so maybe they'll be having events soon. My favorite part was that they had so much seating inside so it was a breeze snagging a table close to an outlet. It was pretty quite and they are open until 12. They did start trivia at around 6/7 but even then it wasn't too distracting. They also have 3 food trucks at this location, Side eye pizza, Veracruz tacos, and a burger joint that I didn't catch the name of. Veracruz was good as always and the tacos were massive. I enjoyed this location and I'm glad that there's a cool place to get some work done in the area read more

Radio East combines everything that made the original location great (music, ambiance, drinks) with a vastly larger outdoor space to create the perfect spot for weekday hang outs and weekend shows. The coffee is some of the best you'll find in Austin and the cocktails are thoughtful and unique, not to mention there are 3 different food trucks parked outside, as well as their large outdoor stage (think something along the lines of Far Out Lounge) to boot. Out of the food trucks I'd say that Side Eye Pie is the best bang for your buck. Their menu is a concise selection of around 6 different slices of pizza for just $6.50 max a slice, and they're quite large. I tried both their "pretty fly for a white pie" and "whole hog" and have to say that the whole hog might have be one of my all time favorite meat pizzas ever. I can confidently say that Radio conveys the true spirit of Austin like almost no where else, and you'd be missing out if you didn't come and spend some quality time here. read more

The setting and vibe is great and exactly what I want at my casual go to watering hole, but the drinks are incredibly expensive. I ordered 2 beers, yes two beers, and the total came out to be $25 before tip, no beer should ever be that expensive. Always loved this place, since the beginning at both locations, but tonight the service was terrible. Was ignored at the window after giving up and coming back when she seemed too busy with another customer. Came back when she finished with them, and she just ignored me further and started poking around with cleanup of the drink making equipment from her (apparently) only customers of value. Gave up again, saw that others were served at the window with success a minute later, so it was just about me. I guess the woman with tinted hair didn't like me in particular, just refused to serve me on multiple tries. Later I was able to get served at the window by somebody else. This is a nice outdoor space with lots of options for drinks and a few different food truck options as well. I'm surprised that it isn't more busy because it has so much space and is really cool. Checked out Radio East during their opening weekend, Friday night around 7:30pm and it was busy! They had to open up an extra area for sitting. We sat near the back that has a view of the stage. Great dog-friendly place with plenty of space (they could definitely add more tables), live music, plentiful parking (lot and street), and 3 food trucks on site. They have Veracruz (tacos), Shortwave East (burgers and hot dogs), and Side Eye Slice (pizza). The indoor space is also dog-friendly. read more

HEY, Radio! You're so pretty. I don't even mind that there's a busy street right off of the patio area. This place feels like a hidden oasis with good beer and coffee. I've been going during sunsets/dusk and it feels pretty magical. They have live music events on weekend evenings and may require a cover to stay in certain areas near the stage. The food trucks are always open and serving hot, fresh food. Overall, this is now one of my top recommended places for friends looking for an Austin-y, chill place to hang out with friends. read more

Just tried to go see a show here. Short answer, don't. Y'all out boy was the most disappointing concert experience I've had in a long time. Absolutely no issues with the band, they rocked. Radio East is just simply not set up for a show like this. It was a mob scene with lines that were 75 people deep to get a drink at any of the bar options. They didn't check out tickets on the way in so idk if they had a bunch of non ticketed people that walked in or what but it was awful. We waited for half an hour to grab a drink and ended up leaving before we even made it close to the bar. I love this place! Today is my third day in a row coming. So excited to have a spot of this caliber in Southeast Austin finally. Great WiFi coverage and ample seating. Staff have always been friendly and tasty drinks. I've had the hot chocolate and hot chai tea. And it has a Veracruz Tacos truck! I can't wait to see how they use the huge event space in the back. Only cons I have are that the parking lot could be bigger; you might need to parallel park on the street. I would also like to see prices printed on the menu. Lastly, the acrylic ordering QR codes on the table also can interfere with placement if you have a computer. However, this place is still deserving of a solid FIVE STAR review! read more
