I stopped by a Cenizo-operated food truck while visiting family in Easton Park, and was intrigued by the avocado toast (it has greek yogurt!!) The yogurt was a fun spin on a traditional avocado toast, and the spinach and seeds complimented the taste well! Union Park is a super pretty and open area, with some infrastructure to cover the sun while you eat! Great place for a chat or to enjoy the sun with a treat. At $8, it was a bit expensive for my taste, but if that's no object, the toast would be a great yummy treat! read more

Cenizo is the neighborhood coffee shop in Easton Park that everyone goes to. The lines can run long, especially on the weekends, but the quick service keeps things flowing. Originally located at Tree House Park, Cenizo has officially moved across the street to its new home in Union Park. Their new home no longer has the private dirt lot, all parking is now on the street. That said, it's super easy to access by trail, which is perfect for my morning walks. They offer pastries and your usual, signature and seasonal drinks, but they're definitely on the pricey side. I recently ordered a 16 oz Strawberry Matcha Latte and yes, while delicious since it disappeared within a few sips, it cost nearly $10 (inc tip + oat milk)...That's a bit steep (pun intended). read more

As a coffee coffee coffee lover, this was not my favorite. The coffee was okay. My latte probably would've been better as a hot. The iced didn't allow for much of the flavor to pull through. The hot Cafe de Olla was good flavor, but the cup was quite literally half foam. The person who took our order was nice, and the truck is located in a cute spot. Definitely an overrated place that I probably won't be coming back to. read more

Finally got around to Cenizo and I was not disappointed. The coffee was great - I went with their signature Iced Horchata Latte. It was very well executed and perfectly (lightly) sweetened. The location and setting are pretty great and the service wasn't just polite - it was friendly. This hits all off the marks - high quality product at a fair price, great location, nice ambience, and good folks. This is the exact kind of business that makes Austin a special place. When I say I love coffee, that is an understatement. Whenever I travel I always look for little coffee gems like this one. Was it good? Yes it has decent coffee. But their spinach and cheese croissant was, chef's kiss I would go back just for that alone. read more

The coffees weren't as flavorful as we had hoped. I've had much better elsewhere, and both my husband and I had to ask for more flavor pumps. I ordered the seasonal horchata latte, which was bland, and my husband tried the café de olla latte which was average. Not worth the long lines in my opinion, but the service was good. That said, the location and ambiance are true to the "Keep Austin Weird" vibe, with a variety of food trucks in the park and a good amount of parking available. They also have live music, which was a nice touch. Overall, I think there are better coffee spots in Austin. read more

My husband and I happily spend $150 a month on this coffee truck. The menu is on the pricier side but I promise you, you will find a whole new appreciation for what a $6 coffee should taste like. I'm such a Cenizo fan girl! Since moving to South Austin, Cenizo has become a part of my regular routine. Their coffee truck is located in a food truck park: Tree House Park. Theres a ton of neighboring food options as well, a perfect place to stop by for lunch. I'm a big fan of their matcha. I've had their matcha with lavender and oat milk, which is a staple for me! Recently they've introduced their "Summer Matcha" which is their matcha with fresh berries. It's DELICIOUS! Cenizo also has some delicious pastries available. I've tried their Cinnamon rolls which are absolutely incredible! They have a few seats right outside of the truck, and are opening a second location soon! A charming coffee food truck in East Austin! We ordered a vanilla latte, a churro latte, a kolache, and a cream cheese pastry. The churro latte was absolutely delicious--not too sweet and full of flavor. I would've liked a bit more spice, but it was still great overall. Both the kolache and the pastry were tasty as well. I went here because I saw so many posts and people raving about it. I got 3 matcha lattes. 1 regular vanilla, 1blackberry matcha and a horchata matcha. The horchata matcha was really good, however the other 2 drinks were so watery and lacked flavor. To top it off the man handing the orders had matcha running down his hand on the top of my lid which was a little off-putting , but then proceeded to say "this is the- well it says it right there" and just kinda stared at us. It was a little rude but wtv, I really wanted this place to be good!! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this spot. Located right outside our neighborhood, Cenizo is such an amazing addition to SE Austin. The owners are super sweet, have great coffee and pastry selection and even better customer service. They get to know each of their customers. What is the most important aspect of a food truck? Location, location, location. Actually, it is the food, the food, the food. Never mind if the truck is next to a sixteen lane highway. But in Cenizo's case, it is location, location, location. The coffee is first rate though. They do an excellent espresso that is both bitter and muddy ... two of my favorite flavors in espresso. Too many coffee trucks are wannabe Starbucks counting on dumping enough milk and stupid flavorings into your cup that you won't notice that the actual coffee is insipid. Cenizo's coffee in contrast is the real deal. * * * That said, let's get back to location, location, location which is the headline story here. Cenizo is in Easton Park. Easton Park is Austin's newest answer to Levitown - a vast soulless high density suburb. Houses are packed together with maybe six feet of yard separating each residence. The developers want to get the maximum real estate sale dollar out of every square millimeter of acreage in the complex. So the houses for sale extend to infinity - north, east, south and west. The only thing that varies is whether the houses are one story or two stories and how pointy the roofs are. There are hills so you get some texture. The complex has running trails, playgrounds and the prerequisite elementary school. There is no retail. Never mind no coffee. No grocery store. No restaurant. No Walmart. No nothing. If you need anything, you will be going next door to your neighbor to ask to borrow a cup of sugar or a hammer. You sure as hell can't go to the store to buy it. Fortunately, the neighbors house is only sixty inches from yours ... so it won't take you very long to get there. * * * Then Cenizo appears as an island of paradise in this desert. A somewhat artistic homeowner with a plot of land right next to Easton Park refused to sell out when Easton Park management tried to buy her out. Her land was full of trees and natural beauty. She decided to create an oasis in Easton Park and set up a very artistically designed food court. Never mind thinking of this as a food court. Think of it as a garden. Right now, the garden has Cenizo, a barbecue truck and a Mexican truck. I have no doubt more trucks will follow. There is a treehouse that both kids and adults can climb into. It has a spiral staircase leading up. There are crazy antiques and random sculptures. There are circles of comfy chairs set up to promote conversation. There is a play-yard with outdoor toys for the kids. There is a performance space with the word LOVE serving as a backdrop. There are multiple eating areas for people who want shade or sun respectively. Levitown II has not built up the land immediately around the garden. So all you see is trees, fields and nature, with the houses being off in the distance someplace. Apparently the landowner intends to add new features to this garden of pleasures. What the new treats will be remains to be seen. The landowner turned down a massive cash payment so that she could keep her land and create this wonderful outdoor art and coffee heaven. Every resident of Easton Park and the neighboring areas owes this woman massive thanks. She is an artistic hero. Add to this you can drink really good coffee here and enjoy the wonders of the outdoors with a croissant of choice? Life doesn't get better than this. Keep Austin Weird. Even if your house is a shoebox surrounded by 8499 other shoeboxes exactly like your own. read more

Stopped by recently upon recommendation from the local pharmacist and what a pleasant surprise. Great coffee and pastries (I went for the savory spinach croissant) and a cool vibe shared with a couple other food trucks. The owner was serving at the time and was friendly, helpful and quick. Given the surrounding neighborhoods, I'm guessing this place will do really well. I recommend it for sure! read more
