We had no choice but to let them continue the work. We walked out and agreed on a price. They changed the battery and when I turned it on as I was walking out, I found it had a big black dot in the view. I went back to him, and then after another 20-minute wait I was told the screen was broken and i split the cost for his incompetence to replace it. Interesting that when I went back (after another 2 hour wait), he wanted to know my 4-digit passkey to unlock it. He didn't ask for this the first time i picked it up, and didn't realize until later why he did this. As the phone was unlocked the rest of the day, I didn't notice that when it did lock, the fingerprint function no longer works - and that's why he wanted to unlock it when I picked it up. He clearly knew it wouldn't work. In the end, the "new" battery he put in still discharges in a half-day, and so now I have the same phone that only unlocks with the 4-digit PIN, and still has a battery that only lasts about 10 hours. Good thing I went, huh? Incompetent AND low integrity. Wow, what a mix. Go on to another shop...

When our washer and dryer died, they guided me to the best system to handle really large loads, and I love the units. They are our go to for all appliances. Only thing negatively I can say, is that sometimes it takes a while to get their service guys over. But that's because they are one of the only places that service their entire line. To be able to call them when I have an issue, and have them look up the record and tell me if I am in warranty, is great. Their service people are top notch. I usually get Adam Doyon. He's great. Highly recommend them. Be sure to visit them, as they are a smaller family owned business. Don't buy appliances at Best Buy, or Home Depot. The quality at Doyon's is much higher. Unless you definitely just want the absolutely cheapest unit possible.

Second try a few days ago not so much. The sales guy was either having a bad day or should not be let loose on customers. He showed me one machine and when I asked to compare, he was put out. He didn't answer questions civily. Frankly it was weird. I left there never wanting to return. I am not a fan of Home Depot, but others suggested it, including my contractor who said he buys his appliances from there - so off I went. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I dealt with 2 women who knew what they were talking about, helped me save some $ and offered excellent AND PLEASANT advice. Perhaps Doyon's should look into hiring a few women?? Just curious: why does Doyons have over 350 Google reviews and a 4.8 rating, while on Yelp they have a rating of 2.5--with comments far closer to my experience? Seems v. odd to me

iRobot's Roomba smart vacuum cleaner was a solution in search of a problem. At a friend's house, I…read moremarveled as this autonomous vacuum kept running itself at full speed into countless baseboards while leaving large swaths of the floor untiuched. And for $500 what could go wrong. Apparently a ton, as iRobot has filed for bankruptcy leaving one to wonder about consumer tolerance for yet another smart appliance gimmick. I can vacuum my house in about 45 minutes without constantly banging my head into the baseboard. Excuse me while I have to give my smart refrigerator a good tongue lashing. One sorry star.
