I have stayed here once per year for a conference for the last several years. It's a fabulous location, right near Oxford Street at Marble Arch, close to shops, restaurants, Hyde Park and much more. The hotel decor is a bit dated but comfortable. I have stayed in some of the smaller rooms that were really tiny, but the business class rooms are quite large by European standards. Rooms have bathrobes and slippers, iron and trouser press, and a kettle and Nespresso coffee maker. The breakfast buffet is huge and delicious. The wifi is free and usually works quite well.
The meeting rooms offer a variety of sizes, our conference here uses the ballroom for larger sessions and several of the smaller rooms for breakout sessions. The lunch catering is very good.
My only complaint with the hotel is the maid/maintenance service: my room would frequently not yet be cleaned when I returned to it at the end of the day (6pm or later). On my most recent trip, someone came by my room to clean about 1pm when I was just leaving, and I asked if they could come back in 10 minutes after I had left; they never came back. The coffee maker was not working properly, someone came and took it away and said that she would be right back with another one, but I eventually had to call for one several hours later. That being said, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, but could benefit from a bit more organization when it comes to room cleaning and maintenance. read more
