Had my hair done here a number of times. They are just okay. 2 stars only because last time I went the girl wouldn't let me use a single drop of thermal protecting serum in my hair before she blew out and straightened. She told me she "didn't recommend it" and that all I needed to do to protect my hair was cut it. (What does that even mean???) As a result when I left my hair was drier than straw and did not feel smooth at all. What's worse is she missed an entire section of my hair when straightening. She definitely made the few split ends I had massively worse. I paid, tipped and then had to go home and redo my hair myself. Disappointing and easily could have been avoided if she would have just listened to me. Finding a Latin hair salon is tough but thank god I found this Gem! Rafaelina and her staff are super professional, timely and very dedicated to their salon and their customers. At this salon you will never wait more than 10-15min to be seen and that's on a busy day, you'll never be held up or delayed because they are talking too much (like many salons I've frequented over the years). I loved walking into this salon and seeing women under the hair dryers. It reminded me of being a kid and going to the beauty parlor with my Mom when I was growing up in the Bronx. I had initially been there for a blow-out after one of my co-workers gave them a glowing recommendation. When they suggested I get hair rollers and sit under the dryer, I figured why not!? After drying my hair, Rafaelina style it with the blow dryer. She has a great technique and left my hair looking soft and very pretty. I couldn't believe I was able to maintain the style for 4 days before I washed it! I definitely would have had it longer if not for the fact that I was feeling like I needed to wash it again! Normally I was my hair every day or every other day, at most. I will definitely be back! The salon is big and the chairs are comfortable. Finding parking at the meters can difficult depending on the time, but fortunately, Peekskill has many parking options. I been going to Rafaelinas salon for over a year but lately I have been very unsatisfied with this hair salon I'm very disappointed not only because of the way she cuts my hair when I asked her to even up or just cut the tips she cut a lot and very uneven. Two days ago I went to do my highlights and color I explained to her that I want a brown base then blond highlights when I saw the work that she did on my hair it looked ok because is dark in her salon when I went outside I stared crying she damage my hair and my hair looks orange . A friend of mine went the same day to do her hair we wanted kind of the same color, my friend and I wanted the same style and color she went to her hair dresser in white plains and I went to mine and my hair looks just horrible everybody at work asked me what happened to my hair?? Who did this to me ?? Today I went to a different salon to see if they can fix it they told me my hair is ruin and I have to wait at least a month to get it fix otherwise it will fall of so I paid a lot of money plus tip for nothing I'm done I'm done going to this salon.
