I hired Rafael and his team to put in mow curb, sod, replace sprinklers and some other basic stuff. Initially, they arrived on time and did a great job with the clearing of weeds and laying down sod. However, there was a major issues that they failed to remedy. They poured the mow curb on top of my sprinkler heads and "scheduled" to come out and fix it. They never came back out after receiving their payment. (I know I should have waited to pay everything until it was fixed but that was my mistake) Rafael initially responded and stated they would be out again, but again they didn't show. He stopped replying to my messages after that. I rated him in the middle because again, the main job was done nicely, but the fact that they didn't fix their mistake is a major issue. Rafael and his team are amazing!!! I had a very large and dangerous raised concrete slab in my backyard and needed to have it removed and continue the grass... I had to re build a planter wall so wanted to use the bricks from the slab to save money and Rafaels team took the time to remove each brick carefully so that they weren't chipped!! Ended up saving almost all of the bricks and saved me $1000!! It was a ton of hard work and the price was very reasonable! Where did Rafael go? Called him up to give me an estimate for a drain repair. He said it was minimal and quoted me on the spot. Said he would have to get back to me on a date to complete the work since he was busy. A week has passed. Nothing. I have called him, left voicemails, texts and emails. No response. Rafael was absolutely amazing to work with. From the very beginning - he was kind, professional, fairly priced, and very dependable. We interviewed about 6 landscapers total for our project and ultimately went with Rafael and not even based on cost alone - we had quotes come in lower but they did not seem as dependable or nice as Rafael. His team came EVERY DAY from start to finish (except of course 2 days necessary to let the concrete cure), and always left the worksite clean. What I really liked about working with Rafael was that he communicated with me the entire time by keeping me updated with everything and checking in. He was also so excited and positive about the project that it made the whole experience so enjoyable. The quality of his work is excellent - I had some tricky concrete squares in my design and his team nailed it. Rafael and his crew made a xeriscape area on my side yards by bringing in rock and creating a dry river creek bed look. His estimate was fair and he even lowered it for me after he found the rock for a better price. Even though Rafael didn't do the work himself, his crew did exactly what we had planned. However, he overestimated the amount of rock he would need for the job so there was a lot left over which I asked them to leave for me to put elsewhere in my yard. They did the entire project in one day which was great! The only reason why I didn't give five stars is because he was very busy and prefers to communicate by text which is fine but he didn't always get back to me until a few days later which made it difficult to communicate at times. read more

He agreed and I had to call him two times. He never called me back and kept me in limbo for two weeks. The last time I contacted him (third time) he said he'd called me back the next day. I've never been more impressed by a company. Rafael was courteous and great throughout the whole process. It was a little harder than usual to get a permit during the pandemic but Rafael reached out and always kept me informed throughout the process. The crew was amazing and so efficient. I was impressed from beginning to the very end. I feel like the team really got things done fast. When we voiced our opinions, they listened and really went above and beyond to get what we wanted. Right now I'm going through a horrible ordeal with another company and wish I had the service I received from Rafael. Rafael's Landscape is the best at customer service. I had my backyard redone over the summer (concrete, grass and plants). Concrete job was perfect. Due to the extreme heat, a lot of the grass died, but Rafael told me not to worry. When the weather got better, his team came back and replaced all of the grass. And not only that, but Rafael and his brother, Carlos, have been checking on the grass every week to make sure it's getting the right amount of water and adding fertilizer. Rafael!! Omgosh, where so I begin?? My back yard is relatively large. My sprinkler system broke years back and i was watering with rotary type hand sprinklers. It gave me the blues because it is so large, it took a while to move the sprinkler to cover the entire lot. My front driveway was asphalt and grass on the side of it. I was done! :-D Found Rafael on Yelp, told him kind of what I wanted but needed him to pull the vision from my brain and make it a reality. He did just that! He poured new cement in the front, widened my walkway and made it 'pretty' with a curvature as I asked (smile), removed the dreaded side grass and cemented all the way down the side of house removing half the grass in the back yard and replacing with more cement. They added MoCurb around existing area and planted new sod with sprinklers. They put plants outside the curbing area and added a drip system. They started the next day, bright and early and finished quickly. His team was efficient and professional. We went over my budget, but I wanted a lot. It was worth every penny!! There is so much more, I can't write it all. I am having my birthday party out there and want to surprise the family who are all Yelp users but will post next photos month. We had scheduled the work for March, but then coronavirus hit and he had to postpone the work, which I understood and agreed with. He came out and reviewed my requirements and we put together a contract. His crew did the work very efficiently, starting early every morning. They were like ninjas: they worked quietly throughout the day, and when I stepped out in the evening to look things over, the yard was so tidy it was like they were never there. We'd moved into our house for 4 months and our HOA required us to complete our backyard within 6 months. Rafael came over and gave us an estimate and was very patient while we waited for approval for the plan. He followed up with us regularly so that he could schedule us in. Once we finally got our approval he came over a couple of days later to confirm the work and materials we had chosen. He had his guys start the following week and they completed the work in 6 days (labor day weekend included). They were nice, professional and worked diligently to meet the expected timeline. They even completed the work 1 day early. We had gravel on one side of our house. Sod was laid down in the backyard and they used black beach pebbles along our patio. On the other side of our house they poured concrete and connected it to our driveway. I highly recommend them! So I had set a couple appointments to get someone out to give me an estimate on our backyard. Both times Rafael couldn't make it due to running behind on other jobs and traffic. However, his communication was good. Well third time was a charm as they say and he showed up finally to give the estimate. Considering other estimates he seemed reasonable so I called him back to give him the job. He came back out, did some measuring, we talked about types of sod and sprinkler system and agreed on a date it would start and be finished. We needed to replace an old wooden fence in our backyard and wanted to do a block wall, we received many quotes from contractors but Rafael was one of the lowest. We decided to use Rafael as he seemed to know what he was doing as well as the price being fair. It took some time before he could schedule the work but we were patient. We ended up paying a little more for the wall but it was worth it as the wall had to be much larger with a bigger footing ( as per city inspector ), even after the additional work to the wall Rafaels price was still below other quotes. His team was able to start even sooner than we expected and worked on a Sat to make sure we met the deadline.
