We enjoyed our visit to this location of Ragin'....the RC po-boy special was amazing, half of a fried seafood po-boy ( I picked fried shrimp) and a cup of seafood gumbo and a drink was just what I was needing. The shrimp on the po-boy was fried just right and I got the sammy dressed out. The seafood gumbo was some of the best i've had lately, they have chicken and sausage too but the seafood was what I wanted today. My wife enjoyed her fried shrimp platter with fries done right and hush puppies. They make some tasty biegnets too. Picked me up an extra large black tee shirt with their logo on the back and large lettering on the front saying eat oysters love longer....I like it! We're already planninng our next visit. The people here are friendly and helpful.

The owner of Ragin Cajun respond to a paying customer who had a negative experience.

*Please look at picture*. DO NOT SUPPORT! Mr. Dominic M., owner of Ragin Cajun is truly why I support small businesses just because they are local. What grown adult human man speaks to ANYONE like this, let alone as a professional. These owners want to bring their sloppy, mid-life crisis, business ideas into our community. To make a few bucks, and fulfill yet another pipe dream that brings ZERO (0) benefits to our community. Not only is the food subpar, you can tell they source their seafood from the cheapest source possible. I wouldn't even feed my dog this if I'm honest. Please share!

I'm so pleased that Ragin Cajun is finally open in Spring Branch. Just south of Longpoint, on Wirt, Ragin Cajun is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Open for just a few months, the restaurant is a great reflection of New Orleans architecture including a large, inviting patio. On our first visit, we enjoyed boudin, snow crab, a mufaletta sandwich and grilled oysters. All were good with my favorite being the sandwich. It's one of the best I've had in years. Drop in for a cold beer, cocktail and meal.

Shrimp and grits .... Very flavorful

Location 1 years old I found it with Google search when I came to the area for windshield repair. The chargrilled oysters which are better than the ones at pappadeaux hands down ! The shrimp and grits entree was delightful I think I will try the roast beef and grits next time!! I'll definitely be back sooner than later ! Parking is plentiful and service was good . They have Weekend specials going on now 7$ hurricanes and 5 cups of gumbo. No automatic gratuity , Plenty of TVs for the big games and the patio is so inviting with the patio lights and have enclosures if bad weather. Yes give them a try !!

Blackened Catfish, Dirty Rice and Sautéed Broccoli

When I say cooked to perfection I just moved in this area, I'm from New Orleans and this right here made me feel right at home, I'm otw there now to watch the saints game and order some oysters I even did a food review that I'll be uploading to YouTube real soon

The Ceviche Blanco and Aguachile were my favorites paired with a reposado tequila and Jamaica drink... Totally hit the spot. Love that they have tequila cocktails with pepino and tamarindo too! And on their typical menu: Baja style shrimp and fish tacos? Yes please. Molcajete? Oh yeah!!! Didn't get to try those this time around but I have high hopes for them

Beautiful and festive decor!…read more I really enjoyed the ambiance and how the indoors/outdoors was set. It's super colorful and fun. Plenty of outdoor seating as well and bar seating indoors. Caesar was super hospitable and very knowledgeable about the restaurant. To start, I ordered the Xochimilco specialty cocktail (Reposado Tequila, Lime Juice, Guava Puree and hibiscus syrup, very light and refreshing). For apps, we ordered the Birria Fries (comes with alot birria meat and the broth was hearty, thin fries) and the Ceviche Yucateco (both spicy fish and shrimp and boy was it SPICY! Chips that it came with were made fresh and crunchy). For my main, I got the Estilo Baja (tempura fried fish, very crispy and the chipotle mayo it was topped off paired nicely with the taco itself, highly recommend ordering this). Apparently, has been opened for about 2 years now and they have another location in the Bellaire area. Parking - a little tight, but they have their own lot Worth checking out!

At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.

You can get your fries with or without seasoning. I got the snow crab with sausage, potato and corn. My friend got crawfish. They also have various tea and lemonade flavors options to select from. Both of us enjoyed our food and drinks. Wait time was good for apps, a tad bit longer than expected for mains considering it wasn't busy. While we were eating we witnessed a couple get turned away due to them "shutting down early" they verbalized their disappointed exclaiming how they had driven from an hour away but no reason was given for the early shutdown except; "management says we are closed early" not sure how often that happens so you may want to call ahead if you plan to try them out. Then they leave us to tend to everyone but us. No menus, no acknowledgment, nothing. I went to tell the manager who had just gotten there. You can tell she's stressed catching up but the lack of acknowledgement and communication was unacceptable. Honestly felt like they're giving preferential treatment to people who look different. Not the card I like to play but I have no reason to think otherwise, especially when we were seated right by the register where they all walk in and out of.

The meatballs and tomato sauce were both solid and I loved the toasted bread on the side. As for the truffle deviled eggs, that's something you don't see often on the menu! The truffle flavor/aroma was solid and the fresh chips on top were nice. The cheeseburger was pretty good and I enjoyed all the veggies that came with!
