    Red Sangria
    Melissa S.

I came here for a friend's birthday brunch on a Sunday. I ordered a red sangria and we had the buffet. The food and drinks were excellent, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Drinks took an unusually long time to arrive, and when it came time to pay, we were only given tip options of 18% or 20%, which felt restrictive. Typically, restaurants either allow you to enter your own tip amount or automatically include 20% gratuity for larger parties, which would've been understandable. What made matters worse was that it took about 40 minutes just to get the bill. When I asked the server about the delay, he explained that their system is outdated and very slow, something they've apparently brought up to management several times. Overall, while the food and drinks were great, the service experience definitely impacted the visit.

Always a great lunch choice! Our department group go to each time - always great service, DELISH food options, and quiet enough to talk and visit or have a meeting. Empanadas - whether you dip or drizzle - always a must!

This was my HRW stop #3 and it was amazing! It's located on the second floor above State Fair. You have to take the stairs as there is no elevator. Parking is limited but complementary valet is available. As you walk in you are greeted by the host and seated. I chose to sit at the bar on this visit. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. I also had servers stopping by to ask if I needed anything. I ordered off the dinner menu. My first course was the crab cake, which was amazing! The jalapeño remoulade was just right. It elevated the flavor profile and was just the right amount of spice. My second course was the Pollo Azteca. Thai chicken was super tender and very juicy. The chipotle crema was a perfect pairing with the mushrooms and bell peppers. The final course was desert and I picked the Flan. Hands down the best flan I've ever had. I'll be back again before HRW ends!

Food is very good and the waiters are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant could use a bit of ambience music though.

It was fine. We stopped by for brunch yesterday. Water and beverage service were impeccable, however I'm not sure if they and the waiter communicate effectively. Our bill was off and when it was fixed, they added auto gratuity. Stinks because the tip would have been higher bad they not done that. When it comes to the food, Smash: Prime rib Made to order crepes Made to order omelets Salads Pass: Frito mixto Chicken options Plaintains - I love these normally but they weren't worth the cals here Valet parking is free- make sure you tip the drivers tho!

Came in at 4pm on a Friday evening and had the entire place to ourselves Enjoyed our lovely, quiet dinner! Service was great! Food was delicious

My hubby and I came here two years on a roll to celebrate our thanksgiving. We are a family of two unfortunately, and our extended family doesn't live here so we prefer to just find a nice restaurant and have a good time with good food. Churrascos never disappoint me, we love the open buffet, the wide range of desert options is amazing! We are chocolate lovers so we go hard on the crepes and pancakes! Highly recommend this place.

What happened! This was once a favorite but recently I hosted a large party at this restaurant and was so disappointed. Service was amazingly incompetent. Drinks were not served for some until multiple requests, some food orders were missed and then delivered five or more minutes after everyone else, some orders confused and plates botched. I never saw the like. The food was not the quality I remember either. I get it, large parties are hard but if your going to be this bad about it then limit your tables to size you can manage. Finally, when it came time for me to pay the check the server became confused. First he came out with an bill for $52 which of course was wrong. Then he offered one for $3100 and though correct was much to high for what this place offered; and the amount didn't match the itemized breakdown. I had to get an explanation and after further confusion decided the included a gratuity. I'm ok with an automatic gratuity for large parties but the restaurant needs to list this as a line item and not be sneaky about it. That's untrustworthy. Never again

Fantastic food, and had great service. Went two nights in a row and had the same meal. Teris Major churrasco. Good pour on drinks also. Nothing worse than paying a premium for a drink and having someone measure to the drop. THATS NOT THE CASE. Had Ricardo both nights as waiter. (Requested him second night because of the great job he did) Ricardo is very attentive and fulfilled our needs promptly. As a side note. All three of us wanted to go back the second night and all three of us had the same meal again. Great job, stay on the quality.

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.

That was the right call. The campechana was the highlight. Fresh, layered, and well balanced. It felt like a grounded ceviche with depth, not just acidity. Plenty of avocado, clean seafood, good heat, and bright citrus. I would order it again without hesitation. The mesquite grilled oysters carried a nice smokiness while still letting the brine come through. The seared tuna was clean, properly cooked, and texturally on point. Service was excellent. I felt welcomed immediately, checked on consistently, and still given space to finish a couple of work calls at the bar. That balance matters when you're traveling. Nothing here felt overcomplicated. It's familiar coastal seafood, executed confidently and well. Not a destination meal I would fly for, but absolutely a place I will return to anytime I'm in Katy. Strong four star experience.

We were quickly greeted by the hostess upon arrival. Service of the restaurant was great and staff were friendly and never intrusive. Food comes out relatively quickly. Each time I've been here the tastes seem to be lessened. We had several dishes and all of us were hungry. However the dishes seemed to lack flavor or any pizzazz and our party all shared everything that came out. The blue crab bisque was agreed by all to be the best selection. We had many other selections (Crab Cake, Grilled Yellowfin Tuna, Red Snapper, Hush Puppies, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Brussel Sprouts). We even opted to have the charred lemon caper butter with jumbo lump crab on the entrees. None of the dishes seemed overwhelmingly great and seemed rather generic and bland. At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.

It's not your typical naengmyeon, and I loved that they had so many different variations since that's something you don't normally see. The broth was SO flavorful and refreshing, and even my friends who had never had cold noodles before ended up loving them! We also ordered the tofu soup, raw marinated crab, and raw shrimp, and honestly everything we had was so fresh, clean, and incredibly flavorful. The banchan was another standout for me because you could tell everything was really high quality. Just be warned that some of the side dishes are VERY spicy haha. TL;DR: Get the kimchi pancake, marinated salmon, bulgogi jahpchae, and/or a soup…read more As a Korean American who grew up in Houston in the 90s, I must admit I tend not to venture much from the OG spots. The original Houston K-town, or K-street along Long Point between Gessner and Blalock (and not the new establishments in Katy off I-10 and 99) has gotten an infusion of new restaurants since the 2010s that have come and gone. K-tang is a newer player on the block that has managed to come onto my radar AND overcome the inertia of going to the same place. More notably, it's become one of my two favorite Korean restaurants overnight. Yeah. I came here 3 times in 5 days, and our parties ordered 12 items off the menu. I need to spotlight this menu that drew me in in the first place. The range is unprecedented. Their namesake highlights tang (pronounced tahng), or soups, but their standouts extend way beyond, and they straddle the hot and cold items better than any other place I've seen in town. Service could be more attentive but is friendly. Appreciated the owner going around and asking how things are. Enough prelude. Here we go, in ascending order to greatness. Ratings take price into consideration. What I didn't try but was enjoyed by others: - Bulgogi Bibimbap. My brother-in-law got this on our second consecutive day here. - Kimchi pork dohlsoht (stone pot). My SiL got this and loved it. Gets that nooroongji (rice that slightly sticks to the bottom) from the hot stone pot. Hard to go wrong with this. - Soondooboo (soft tofu) jjigae (stew) with kimchi and pork. I love that it comes out roaring boiling and stays piping hot - authentic. My BiL loved it so much that he lamented not living closer to K Tang. What I did try myself: - I can't believe they serve munggeh (sea squirt) here across various dishes. It's definitely an expert-level acquired taste, so both my non-Korean husband his brother found it disgusting, and I was not offended in the least. If you grew up eating this and miss it like me, this is a treasure trove. So while I don't recommend the sea squirt dishes to the general public, I so appreciate that this section of the menu caters to the more native Korean audience. Definitely a 5/5 in my book. - Dduhkbokki: I didn't really like the flavor or the rice rice cakes in this (as opp to "rice cakes" made of wheat, which have chewier texture), so I wouldn't get this again. 2/5. - Boodae jjigae, or army soup, originating during the Korean War where SPAM and sausage met kimchi. The broth is nicely done and doesn't taste like ramen soup like it does at some places. I liked it but my husband didn't, so 4/5. - Bibim (mixed) naengmyeon (cold noodles, pronounced nangmyun): Hard to mess up this sauce, but they must make the noodle in house. 4.5/5. Curious about their mool (water) naengmyeon esp in this heat, but it's made with beet juice and without the beef base that I like, so I haven't tried it yet. Edit: Went back for the third time and got the mulhoe (pronounced mool-hweh, meaning water sashimi) with salmon. It was ok (3/5), but had too sweet of a broth; I would stick to the bibim naengmyun. - Dogani (beef knee) tang (soup) feels like a misnomer given this dish has just the tendon and no knee cap served in it, but I do love the stickiness of that soup, which you get only when it's full of collagen. It's also hard to get the flavor and consistency this well, and I didn't taste anything synthetic. Yes, I had it in 90+ degree weather, and yes, I still enjoyed it; I sure as heck wouldn't make it myself in this weather. 4.5/5 - Bulgogi jahpchae: Copious in amount and delicious, especially with that hot plate singe with zero char. 5/5 - Kimchi pancake: Bar none the best I've had. I make a good one too, but this one's on another level. So chunky with potato bits or slices adding to the starch complexity, so that you get both the crispy edges and the comforting bites of pillowy potato. I don't know whether they included samgyeopsal (pork belly) fat into the batter or just cooked the pancake in it but it's a slam dunk with all those onion and kimchi slices on both flavor and texture. 5.5/5! - Marinated raw seafood: crab, abalone, salmon, and shrimp. This is what brought me to the restaurant, and it did not disappoint. They must have a high turnover because dashima (thick seaweed thus far bka by its Japanese name kombu, which is the ingredient of kombucha)-wrapped marinated salmon doesn't keep fresh for very long. But it's also unsurprising that they would have a high turnover, because it's delicious in all its slightly gelatinous texture and sweet soy marinade flavor. I tried the big platter that has it all AND the shrimp rice bowl on separate visits, and decided I would get the salmon on repeat. 6/5! Sang this ode like a canary, and a happy one. Please keep doing well so that I can come back for more and more, K-Tang. Love you already. Plenty of parking.
