We came in with our family on a Sunday night . The restaurant is located up the stairs. The place was a ghost town when we came in around 6:30pm. We ordered ceviche, empanadas, and guacamole for appetizer. All were delicious and fresh! We ordered steak and fish, which were also delicious and perfectly cooked. 12/4/2025: From start to finish, I had a wonderful experience with Churrascos. I worked with Marsha to book our staff Christmas luncheon for a group of 55. Marsha was prompt and clear on her communication, pricing, and details. We booked a private room for our event. The room was spacious and the setup was perfect for our group. Upon my arrival the day of the event, the Churrascos staff were all very accommodating. We needed a small table for raffle items and we requested the speaker to be turned off for us to talk. Marsha and her crew were happy to help and make everything perfect. The tables were set with plantain chips and salsa. The red and green salsas were so bold and zesty. They had a smokey flavor that was delicious! We had an abbreviated menu for our event. A choice of soup or salad to start, chicken, beef, or pork for the main entree, and a choice of tres leches or flan for the dessert. Everything was so delicious! I started with the Caesar salad. It was good with a light drizzle of dressing and a large crisp crouton. The bean soup that was also available was apparently very good. Even non-bean people were impressed with it. My friend and I wanted to try both the chicken and the beef, so we each ordered one and split. The chicken was my favorite. I loved the rice and gravy bed it was on with delicious cap mushrooms. The beef was good too. There was a nice grill flavor to it and it was very tasty. The space is beautiful and they offer several types of seating in an intimate lighting. Very impressed. In the 6 years I have been planning the staff Christmas luncheon, I have never received so much praise and good feedback. Everyone loved the meal. I came here for a friend's birthday brunch on a Sunday. I ordered a red sangria and we had the buffet. The food and drinks were excellent, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Drinks took an unusually long time to arrive, and when it came time to pay, we were only given tip options of 18% or 20%, which felt restrictive. Typically, restaurants either allow you to enter your own tip amount or automatically include 20% gratuity for larger parties, which would've been understandable. What made matters worse was that it took about 40 minutes just to get the bill. When I asked the server about the delay, he explained that their system is outdated and very slow, something they've apparently brought up to management several times. Overall, while the food and drinks were great, the service experience definitely impacted the visit. read more

My wife and I have been here twice in the last three months and the quality of the food served is inconsistent. During our first experience, in which we were the only table in the restaurant, the food was amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly, my wife's chicken dish was juicy and full of flavor - the experience was exactly what we hoped for. It was such an experience that we made the decision to dine on New Year's Eve. This decision proved to be a mistake. My steak, ordered medium rare, was served with inconsistent temperatures throughout the steak that featured medium rare to medium well. The wait for our food and the general service left much to be desired despite the lack of people in the restaurant. Overall, Churrascos features a pleasant and intimate atmosphere, and I'd choose to eat here again during a slow time to ensure the quality of my food. However and due to this previous experience, I am unable to provide high praise for a restaurant that prices itself as one that deserves it. read more

This was my HRW stop #3 and it was amazing! It's located on the second floor above State Fair. You have to take the stairs as there is no elevator. Parking is limited but complementary valet is available. As you walk in you are greeted by the host and seated. I chose to sit at the bar on this visit. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. I also had servers stopping by to ask if I needed anything. I ordered off the dinner menu. My first course was the crab cake, which was amazing! The jalapeño remoulade was just right. It elevated the flavor profile and was just the right amount of spice. My second course was the Pollo Azteca. Thai chicken was super tender and very juicy. The chipotle crema was a perfect pairing with the mushrooms and bell peppers. The final course was desert and I picked the Flan. Hands down the best flan I've ever had. It was fine. We stopped by for brunch yesterday. Water and beverage service were impeccable, however I'm not sure if they and the waiter communicate effectively. Our bill was off and when it was fixed, they added auto gratuity. Stinks because the tip would have been higher bad they not done that. Love how we have a private party yesterday and manager refuses to let us order from the Latin Resturant week menu. All he carried about was for us to spend more money. A party of close to 40 people had 2 waiters. Took over an hour to order and get our food. I promise you the kitchen wasn't busy. The resturant had 7 tables the entire night and our party. It was a ghost town other than our private party. I find it ridiculous that a promotion is offered but the manager too greedy to let us have it. Last time I ever go to this place. Don't recommend it for anyone. What's the point of having Latin Resturant week if you can use it. He's going to say it was for a private party and have to order from the regular menu which is BS. What happened! This was once a favorite but recently I hosted a large party at this restaurant and was so disappointed. Service was amazingly incompetent. Drinks were not served for some until multiple requests, some food orders were missed and then delivered five or more minutes after everyone else, some orders confused and plates botched. I never saw the like. The food was not the quality I remember either. I get it, large parties are hard but if your going to be this bad about it then limit your tables to size you can manage. Finally, when it came time for me to pay the check the server became confused. First he came out with an bill for $52 which of course was wrong. Then he offered one for $3100 and though correct was much to high for what this place offered; and the amount didn't match the itemized breakdown. I had to get an explanation and after further confusion decided the included a gratuity. I'm ok with an automatic gratuity for large parties but the restaurant needs to list this as a line item and not be sneaky about it. That's untrustworthy. Never again read more

I gave this review two stars instead of one because the empanada appetizer was good and arrived hot. The rest of the experience was not great. The waiter seemed pretty bland and just went through the motions and at times we were wondering what happened to him. My plate was one of their mixed grills and it came out cold. The side plate had rice and it was also cold. I sent back my plate and they just threw it back on the grill they said, which is not very sanitary because I had already tried a bite of the chicken and sausage. Not to mention it was just only warmed up. For a $38 plate, I would have expected hot food to come to the table sizzling and better service. I most likely will not be back. read more

Nothing worse than paying a premium for a drink and having someone measure to the drop. THATS NOT THE CASE. Had Ricardo both nights as waiter. (Requested him second night because of the great job he did) Ricardo is very attentive and fulfilled our needs promptly. As a side note. We had not been to a Churrascos since the one on Shepherd at Westheimer closed. We recently moved near the one at Memorial City and decided to return as we never had a bad meal at one. Besides valet parking, there is an adjacent free parking garage with easy access to the restaurant. If using the garage, we suggest parking on the west side, as an elevator in the northwest corner can take you to the second floor and steps from the front door of the restaurant. Just inside and past the host station is a large bar and a number of high top tables. We had reservations and elected a booth to the side of the main dining area. We were greeted promptly and warmly, had waters served, drink orders taken and were served complementary fried plantains with chimichuri and roasted tomato sauces. One drink from the bar and a bottle of wine were ordered, both came without delay. The wine was presented, opened and served properly. The restaurant was not crowded, probably due to multiple downtown and near-town events that night. We split a 10 ounce Churrasco, medium rare. The entree came perfectly cooked with grilled zucchini and carrots. The steak was tender, very flavorful and as good as any we have had in recent memory. We finished by splitting their decadent tres leches. We were served by their "A Team" according to the check. Our leftovers were boxed neatly and the unfinished bottle of wine securely bagged for travel home. All in all one of our best steak meals, combined with polished service at a more than reasonable price. Highly recommend. Bonus - Thursday is all day happy hour in the bar and patio with a nicely curated bar menu. read more

It seems that not everyone in the restaurant is on the same page or has the same information. Had a reservation for Mother's Day placed. I called ahead of time-about a week out- to ask about the hours and specials for that day. I was told brunch would until 3pm with last refill at 2:30 and that regular menu would be available. My party did not care about brunch so we reserved for 315pm. When we arrived and got seated, our waiter informed us that it was only brunch until 4pm and only the steaks were available from the regular menu. Another person told us only brunch was available. Everyone had different answers and none of them correct. It was apparent that everyone was disorganized. My party had the brunch menu ($50/person). Next, the 6oz churrasco came with the potatoes, veggies, rice yuca and plantains. The meat was extremely tender even though it was slightly overcooked! Very flavorful and definitely a highlight. The jasmine rice also stood out as it had a very nice and refreshing flavor. Finally, the tres leches. So rich, so sweet, so good! In my honest opinion, it was a too big and sweet for just one person. Definitely something you should share. Very moist and it comes with a rich merengue on the top. Delicious and a must try. Overall 9/10! Restraint week priced everything to roughly 60$ including tip and tax. Given that the normal price of each item could have easily exceeded 80$, it's worth it! I came here for Houston Restaurant Week and had gotten the chicken empanadas, a shrimp dish, and cant remember the dessert name but all dishes were good and I was stuffed. The empanadas I would say were more cheesy than chicken though. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor above State Fare Kitchen. Its pretty much valet parking. There is a parking garage somewhere but its a bit of a walk. Its a pretty big restaurant and has a nice bar area. Overall good experience. read more

I'm reviewing this after we had an office party there (in 2023, so I'm really hoping they've changed). We had a private room booked for 30+ people. In the beginning all started well until they started pouring Caymus wine as their table wine. Now I know my company didn't approve that as the table wine as it goes for $80 at the grocery store so it must be like $200 a bottle at the restaurant. Then the open bar had very high end liquor bottles for whiskey (like Blanton's, etc). They didn't have your normal Crown Royal or Bulleit) so my coworkers obviously got what they had on display thinking that was part of our package. Don't even get me started on the Louis cognac bottle they brought out...which was like $200 a shot. I work with some people who don't know alcohol brands so they were drinking all these high end drinks not knowing how much it was going to cost. So basically we got robbed but I think thankfully they adjusted some of the wine from our total bill as we had specifically chosen a different brand in our contract. Food itself was fine but I think the experience was ruined after we got taken advantage of. So just think twice before booking a company dinner there or at least pay very close attention to the alcohol they are serving and make sure it's part of the package you chose. read more

I always pick the restaurant we go to but I decided to let my friend pick for us and she settled for this restaurant. I had eaten at another restaurant they own and didn't like their breaded chicken dish. Every entrée that I did see on the menu wasn't appealing to me except the lamb but I didn't want it. My friend ended up ordering a dragon fruit marfarita and my other friend ordered the Argentine Malbec. I don't drink anymore so I ordered a delicious and refreshing lemonade. The lemonade was good but a little on the sweet side. I would definitely get again! So my friends ordered the breaded chicken with refried black beans and cheese. She ate every bite and the lamb chops and he ate every bite. We were first given plantain chips with a green garlicky dip and a red spicy dip. I ordered the ceasar salad and it was very good. My friend got the bread pudding to go. She raved about it. It was restaurant week so they had a three course meal available. Will be back if they want to go again. read more

I love eating steak at new places, so of course I had to try out this place, however I was disappointed. The service was okay, they waiter only came to check on us probably like 3 times. The place itself was nice and clean. It was not the typical steak. It seemed like a skirt steak. I asked for medium cooked steak and I received a rare to medium rare steak. They did take it back and cooked a little longer. It was not worth 55$. Will not recommend if you have tried those GOOD steaks. However the crab cakes were a 7/10. I'll give this place one star. I visited this place for a birthday dinner and I was not pleased at all with the food or the service. We were a big party however we did have reservations. We waited nearly two hours before we received our food. The food was not worth the price and was very bland. They do not do separate checks and were only able to use four separate credit cards with a part of 15. I believe they over charged me bc my ticket was $120, with my entree being $38 two drinks at $15 a piece and two shots. It also took well over thirty minutes to for our drinks. I started with a spicy margarita and yes this spicy marg has a kick! kick! kick! it is spicy, it is hot. For those who have a sensitivity to spice, make sure you are careful drinking one of these lol. It was spicy but so good and really well flavored. I enjoyed sipping on this while i waited for my entrée. I ordered the lamb chops which were served over brussels sprouts. It was decently plated but my lamb was over cooked. We ordered the Mixed vegetable dish. It was basically a stirfry bell pepper dish. No asparagus and only 1 piece of the following: carrot, mushroom, zucchini, and yuca. No Potatoes or asparagus (as listed on the menu. The management remade the dish after we called over the server. The second time wasn't bad. After waiting 30 min and getting full on rice and plantain chips, the meal was not as good as we hoped or remembered. I went to churracos in order to celebrate my birthday. I've been to this restaurant to taste food for a friends wedding and I loved it, HOWEVER, when I went for my birthday celebration, it was very disappointing. We had a waitress(forgot her name) that I believe only spoke Spanish. That wasn't a problem as my family is Mexican and we speak fully English and Spanish, however when my family and I spoke to her in Spanish, she still didn't understand us??? We're speaking the same language you speak.... When I spoke, she had an attitude as if I didn't belong in this fancy restaurant and didn't understand how things worked, when I was only asking about a dish. Sorry that my outfit doesn't match the setting or that I don't speak your type of Spanish. Throughout the dinner, my family and I tried to enjoy our dishes, but wasn't really up to our expectations. Our waitress never came around again and we had 2 different servers the rest of the night. Anyway the food: Chicken Empanadas - 2 cut in half to layout as 4 appetizers, super stuffed with filling, they don't skimp, hot, crispy, great dipping sauce. It's everything you need! Queso Fondue - Piping hot! Creamy with a kick of red pepper that smacks you at the end, nice touch! Served with crispy hard hot bread for dipping. Portion is not so big but it does the trick if you need a cheese dip. Guacamole & Chips - Nice portion, again creamy, fresh and the addition of toasted pumkin seeds is what actually makes this fun! The crunch & toasted flavor added a new level to this guac. Also a nice spin on your average guacamole. As many others have stated BRUCH is everything here.
