Truffle Cheeseburger with fries - 4/5

Came here one day for brunch and kicked myself for not eating here sooner. I've passed this so many times and never came in to eat. MISTAKE! I come here pretty much once a week now because the food is good. Breakfast potatoes, amazing! I've been for dinner and late lunch also. I'm going down the menu of items I want to eat and so far everything is amazing with the exception of the deviled eggs and breakfast sausage. Those items just aren't appeasing to my palette. Shrimps are a great size, lobster, scallops, crab, asparagus ... it's all fresh and clean tasting. Staff very nice, always clean and service is quick! Needless to say, I will eat here regularly and I think it is worth a try.

The service was good. Our waiter was attentive and nice. We ordered the 1 dollar gulf oysters which they are doing until 2026 to celebrate their new opening of a different location. Can't beat that price. There were a couple of oysters out of the dozen that I ordered that were mangled and so had big chunks of shell in it. Presentation wise, I wouldn't have expected them to serve that because it looked really bad plus the big shell chunk was visible to me, but the place is pretty dimly lit. Otherwise the oysters were tasty. We also ordered the calamari which were fried well. Brussels sprout side tasted good but was excessively oily. Places like taste of Texas and salt grass do it better with similar taste. I didn't like how the Brussels sprouts were super small and it didn't look like a full portion. Friend had the burrata salad which was nicely composed. Deviled eggs weren't super worth it. 17 dollars for 4 eggs was steep and the flavor didn't blow our minds. Taste was ok. Friend said the favorite part was the pickle. The biggest disappointment was the duck dish. The foie grois part was nicely done, but the duck breast was cooked badly. The fat was not rendered properly at all which is super disappointing. One of the slices looked very rare. The confit part was fine. The accompaniments to the duck tasted good as well as the sauce but when a breast which is what I consider to be the main part is cooked incorrectly, that's an issue. I did bring it up to our waiter and he said he'd pass a message along to the kitchen but nothing else was done or offered. It would have been nice if they offered to recook the duck breast portion. We also ordered a few cocktails and they were nicely composed and tasty.

First and foremost, congratulations Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette for opening another location!!! Currently, it's $1 Gulf Coast oysters at all of their locations until the end of the year in celebration of opening another location - side note, I seriously need to make my way over to their new location. Anyways, I've never been able to make it to lunch here until now. I can officially review their lunch vs dinner. Parking are plenty but make sure you plug it into your GPS. To me, it's not hard to find but I'm also used to it by now that I can just follow my heart here with my eyes closed (just kidding, no one wants to die on the road). Compare to dinner, I much prefer their dinner menu. Also, I didn't make it to their Royale special, which starts at 3 and I arrived at 2:30ish. Worps. Reservations are easy on OpenTable and I have never had any bad experience. My server (he's been there for awhile) was kind of rushing us towards the end but then I realized he's probably about to end his shift as the night shift servers came in (who also been there for at least a year). Steamed mussels - might be the cook of the day but I realized it's less sauce and less something. Nevertheless, I still enjoy it a lot. I always get this dish no matter what, every time I come here. Gulf oysters - delicious this time. I realized it's best to get Gulf Coast oysters around this time when it's a tad colder here in Houston compare to other times of the year. I still prefer East Cost oysters (it's naturally sweeter) but I enjoyed it a lot this time. Surf & Turf: Liberty Cheeseburger & Half Grilled Maine Lobster - oh boy, now here's the downside. I love LOVE surf & turf. However, during their lunch of surf & turf, it was a letdown. Forget the tiny half lobster (which I expected for lunch), everything was just too salty for my liking. Should I have told the server? Perhaps. It's just not in my nature to complain to them. Anyways, it was too seasoned from their burger to the fries and to the lobster. Next time I com for lunch, I would skip this at $38. Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich - surprised me. Chicken was grilled perfectly where it's not dry. The whole combination was just delicious. I just wished I have asked no salt on the fries but that's on me for forgetting. Fries are still good. Thickness and cuts reminds me of McDonald's fries but fancier. Mashed potatoes with lobster is still one of my favorite for dinner. As well as their seafood pastas. If you can, come here Friday and Saturday nights. They still do live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Come join the fun ambiance!

My birthday was in mid December but my friend and I were busy; we decided on liberty kitchen on January 3 before holiday ended. It's a beautiful building and the glass and greenery make it very inviting. I grew up in Nola so I'm obsessed with oysters; this place did a pretty good job. Our waiter was a little curt at first but he warmed up. We ordered a quinoa bowl with oysters on the side, deviled eggs, eggs Benedict, crab balls, and cosmos. Everything was very good not great and it's very pricey. The quinoa was supposed to be bacon infused but was just salty- still good but a bit disappointing. The oysters were fried dark brown which is not my preference and were small but were still seasoned well and tasty. The crab balls were okay but the dip was awesome. The Benedict and cosmos were great. Since I was with my good friend and on vacation, the experience was very enjoyable. We went when it was not crowded; that's your best bet.

There was plenty of parking on Wednesday afternoon here at the liberty kitchen. The restaurant was in a corner and hard to find for me. It did not face the main street so I basically drove around the parking lot until I got the their other corner. We ordered mimosas and Paloma's. I think the drinks were weak for $14-$15 a piece. I've had better. W ordered the lobster bisque soup with crab. It was delicious. The farm house Cobb with chicken was also good and the salad had generous portions. I also ordered the liberty tacos. It came with 3 tacos and it was so good. The fish used in it was mahi mahi and it was perfect. I would order the liberty tacos again but I'd prob skip the drinks and just get water next time. The flavors and quality of the food here was great. I would come back here after trying the food for the first time today.

Came here for lunch with family, and loved the clean and beautiful restaurant interior. We were seated promptly. I had the Surf & Turf but, I changed the cheeseburger to a truffle burger (additional $3). I asked for medium rare but got medium, but not a big deal. I also couldn't get much truffle taste from the burger. However, the grilled lobster was delicious. The French fries, though a side, were crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. My family enjoyed their meals too. The temperature requested for the petite filet mignon was medium-rare but, a small portion of the steak was rare. The kids' chicken and strips were very crispy, and the kids loved their food. The restaurant has outdoor seating, and there are plenty of parking spots available.

I've heard SO many good things about this place, but have never been. Glad to say I was able to give them a try and it won't be my last time. Wasn't sure which location to go to, but I decided on this one as it was closer to my hotel. Customer service was great from the moment I walked in the door. Everyone was polite, attentive, and even those that weren't my server thanked me for dining in as I was leaving the restaurant. I sat at the bar and took advantage of the happy hour drink specials. Shout out the bartender for making some great French 75s. I wanted seafood and was torn between the lobster stuffed shells and the redfish. He advised that many guest say the stuffed shells are too cheesy, so I went with the redfish. I'm happy I did! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and a LOT of food. I couldn't eat it all. I added brussels sprouts instead and they were SO good. I was a bit disappointed that they had bacon, because I asked the bartender beforehand if there was pork. Either way, they were delicious and I ate most of them lol. Great service, great food and I'll definitely visit again!

Had a great early birthday lunch with my best friend. Our LK server was very helpful, attentive, and friendly. We ordered the deviled eggs to share. 4 delicious deviled eggs each served on a pickle slice with a fried oyster on top. They were terrific! I had a 1/2 wedge salad before the meal. They call it a Hedge Hill Slab Iceberg. It was great. The 1/2 is plenty for one person. My friend had the gumbo before the meal. I tried it and would definitely order that next time with a salad. We split the lobster roll with taro chips. The presentation was beautiful and the was flavorful. We were both impressed with the taro chips. They are similar to a sweet potato, but lighter in color. LK adds a light oil to them which complimented it perfectly. The atmosphere is very fresh and has a good energy. I like the open concept area. Very good lunch! Thanks for the good experience, LK!

Decided to check this location out during my lunch break. It's a short walk from my office so it's convenient and great for a nice day! The inside was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed the decor and the food was just as amazing. The only thing that surpassed the previously mentioned items was the service. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with recommendations. He even showed us the 2 different room options for parties. I highly recommend you trying this place. Don't forget to ask for their lemonade, it's amazing!

My family had dinner here yesterday for Mother's Day. The location is very convenient to get in/out of with plenty of parking. The decor is the restaurant is very nice (5/5). Much bigger than the other location on San Felipe and a bit more upscale, in my opinion. The "front of house" service was okay. Took a while for us to get seated even though there were plenty of empty tables. Kind of seemed like 3 people running around not really coordinating well on getting folks seated. When it was our turn, the hostess just grabbed some menus and starting walking away without letting us know we were supposed to follow her. We had to ask to confirm. The waitstaff service was very good. Our server was Oscar, and he was very friendly and attentive. For food, we had: Parker House Rolls - 4.5/5: Fantastic rolls. Comes with three accompaniments. Olive oil (very standard), bacon jam and honey agave butter. Loved both the jam and the butter separately, but both are very sweet. Given the olive oil is a bit bitter, I thought instead of the agave butter, it would have been nice to have a salted butter to hit bitter, sweet and savory profiles. Liberty Stacked Tower - 4.5/5: Comes with oysters (4.5/5), cocktail shrimp (4/5), a small main lobster (4/5) and avocado crab cocktail (4.5/5). The accompanying cocktail sauce is great (love the horseradish). Creole Shrimp & Seafood Gumbo - 3/5: Flavors were okay (not great). A bit bitter. The biggest miss was that the soup came out not hot at all, but room temperature. Citrus Chili Salmon Sashimi - My daughter ordered this and said it was very good. I didn't try it so won't rate. Liberty Lobster Roll - 3/5: The menu description is wrong. It does not come with drawn butter. It is a "cold" style, mayonnaise based. Hard to really taste the lobster. Liberty Broiled Seafood Platter - 2.5/5: Total miss in my opinion. Nothing really wrong, but nothing good on the whole plate. Scallops were good, but the fish was overcooked (dry) as well as the shrimp (overcooked). Not much flavor to the entire dish, other than the scallops. I would absolutely not order this again, as much better options on the menu. Onion Rings - 4/5: Nice and thick, and the accompanying remoulade is very good. Just wish the rings themselves had a bit more flavor. Overall, I would go to this restaurant again, but know which items to order again and avoid. Look forward to trying other items on the menu.

Nothing but positives here. The seating layout is quite interesting. Something I've never seen before. When you sit in a booth, there's two hallways but you only have access to one. Where do I even begin? I ordered so much food that I can't even recall when was the last time I felt this bloated. It was pretty bad. I ate way too much. Why? I just couldn't stop. I kid you not, literally everything ordered was amazing. From presentation to flavor to texture to portion size to price to everything. Service was fast. Waiter was funny and attentive. All bellies were happy here.

It took nearly 30 mins for dish to arrive. Shrimp was overcooked but easy to peel and the snow crab clusters was ok. Clusters were small with hardly any meat but the legs compensated for it. I know they come previously frozen but they were not able to mask the flavor w the garlic butter. The medium spice level was not there as I didn't get any heat at all. Overall the place was ok

The flavor was about the same as your average Americanized Chinese takeout. I don't blame the business for this, but someone followed me in asking for money. Just a heads up, this place is counter service, so you order at the front and then grab a table. The crawfish garlic butter sauce actually has really good flavor, but the crawfish themselves weren't very juicy. It tasted like most of the flavor stayed on the outside rather than soaking into the crawfish. If they let the crawfish sit in the sauce longer, I think it would make a big difference. The fried catfish was solid, and the whole wings were good. Regular wings were just okay. Prices are pretty reasonable though around $10/lb normally, and they are running a special of 5 lbs for $45. Overall, a decent spot with potential. If the crawfish were juicier, I'd definitely come back because the sauce itself is actually pretty good!

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.

There are several types of seating available. They have a large patio - one section covered, one section open. They also have bar seating inside, regular chairs/table seating, and chair with a half booth seating. We were welcome by many of the staff immediately when we entered. Very welcoming. They have sweet tea! I love sweet tea. :) My Friend had a Bloody Mary. They had a $5 special for drinks. We split the Buffalo shrimp and the Gulf Wedge salad. The Buffalo shrimp (8 to an order) came with celery and ranch for dipping. They were just like I remembered years ago from the Richmond location. I'm not usually a Buffalo sauce type person, but their shrimp with their sauce is the bomb! The shrimp are large, so the entree is great for splitting. The Gulf Wedge has crab meat, bacon, grape tomatoes, and a hardboiled egg. It also comes with red onion and blue cheese crumbs, but I do not like either of those, so I had those removed from my half. I also prefer ranch dressing instead of blue cheese dressing. The salad was a great addition to our shrimp. Very tasty and filling. Nick was happy to make the substitutions for me. Many restaurants have an issue with splitting dishes. I was happy RC, via Nick, did this for us. For these reasons, Nick made out with a 25% tip. I am always a 20% tipper, but good service will get you even more. Thanks, Nick! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, and we will not only be back, but we will tell others to go see you!

The restaurant sits on Wirt, just South of Long Point, and has its own private parking lot behind a gated perimeter. There is plenty of seating. They have tons of covered outdoor tables, indoor tables, booths, and bar top options. I also noticed there's a little turfed area for kids to play on the side of the restaurant, and the outdoor seating appears to be kid friendly, so bring the whole household. (minus the cat I guess) We came on a Friday and decided to split the Boiled Seafood Friday Special. We got a lobster tail, 2 blue crabs, 1 snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb. boiled shrimp, corn, 2 potatoes, and lemon garlic butter sauce for dipping all for $40. There was plenty of food to split between two people and everything came out great. I'm sure I'll be back to try out the menu staples, but that Friday special was a nice surprise! Service was very on top of our table. Our waiter came by constantly to make sure we have what we needed, helped with questions, and never let a water glass or a beer get too low. Overall, it was a great first visit to an old Houston favorite, and I'm sure we'll find ourselves back again soon enough.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.
