I will admit that my hubby and I are bagel snobs as he's from NYC/NJ but let explain why this place is getting 2 stars. I'm from Beaufort and understand the southern way of life. But this place is just plain unorganized. We went on a Sunday morning and ordered 1 plain bagel and 1 bagel with cream cheese. 25 mins!!! 25 freaking mins!!! What the hell? I get being busy but come on. Observations: The barista would make drinks and bring it to a counter on the opposite side of the room where no one was and they'd stay there getting cold. The biggest hold up was the girl making the bagels. She had a very hard time multitasking. She would only do one thing at a time even though there seemed to be almost 20 orders waiting. Example: bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. She would make the egg and then wait till it was done, put the order together and send it out before working on next order. To be fair, there didn't seem to be a lot of room for her to work back there but still. I feel like if they got an experienced line cook that can multitask, things could go a lot faster! The bagels were ...well... stale and disappointing. Veggie cream cheese was good. Although it is stored 20 feet away...to the right of the cashier which slows the bagel maker down even more. I feel that if this place was laid out better and they better trained their staff it would take 25 mins for 2 basic bagels. One last thing, they have not rearranged the place for COVID-19. I feel that if they moved seating around, made more space, the flow would work better for them too. I wish them luck as I want small business owners to succeed and I love supporting them but if they don't do something to help this place out, it won't be around for long. read more

I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the bagels and the variety of cream cheeses is a good experience. The staff, however, needs some serious customer service training. We ordered 2 lattes, a regular & a decaf. There were people ahead of us & behind us. We got our bagels and noticed 2 cups sitting at the side counter. We asked the girl if those were our lattes and she said she didn't know. We decided they were ours, but there was no marking to indicate the decaf. We asked the girl at the counter about it and she said she forgot to make one decaf, but she couldn't make a new one because she had customers in line. My husband talked to a more mature woman in a different part of the store, who immediately apologized and made the decaf and handed it to him. Need I say more? read more

Customer service was terrible. Coffee was terrible. Literally tasted like i was chewing on old coffee grounds.

Palm and Moon continue to think they own the parking lot. But they don't. On more than one occasion I have parked in the UPS EMPLOYEE parking, and P&M leaves notes on my car. So childish and snotty. read more

This place was okay. I ordered a Palm wrap which must not have been a great choice. I guess I should have ordered it on a bagel. The prices were too expensive for what they served. I got the smallest wrap that I have ever seen and I wish there was a chips option because they only serve croutons/weird pieces of bread as a side. The food was good but the service sucked! The two girls were not helpful when I was trying to find out what was in a bagel. Not to mention one was complaining to the other about having to make oatmeal for a customer. Not one of them greeted us when we wanted in and they even made our meals in the wrong bagels. Heard of this place for a while now and never got around to get there. My wife and son went there this morning for breakfast and my wife ate the salmon something bagel sandwich I had the wheat bagel with blue berry cream cheese. It was delicious I had to go back for another one when I tried the wild blueberry bagel with cream cheese and coffee. Will definitely go back again spend $14 for breakfast for the three my son just ate some of ours he is still a baby. We sat outdoors with the cool breeze of the rain made it a great breakfast. We stopped by this place before heading to Charleston. We wanted something somewhat quick since we were on our way. This seemed to fit the bill. My hubby got the traditional breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. & I got and everything bagel with lox. They were both delicious! And they serve coffee drinks there too. This is a review that I am sad to write. The bagels here are so good, which is why I've gone back a few times now, but I don't feel I should support this business any further. On two separate occasions I have gone in and the manager(?) has been yelling at or reprimanding employees over seemingly trivial things. I went in today as I have for the past 6 years, but ran into a new manager I have not had before. I always order a bagel & lox open face and have always gotten capers and onions on it. I also usually get a dozen to go, however This time it was a light smear and a small piece of salmon. I asked for some capers and onions and got into an argument over 10 cents worth of stuff. Needless to say I did not get the dozen and left. This manager has no clue about clients and certainly lost my business along with anyone who asks me for a reference. I do have rental units downtown! Not impressed by this place at all. Not sure where in Ny these previous reviewers had their bagels from but it was definitely not from the notorious bagel shops of NYC/LI areas for sure. The bagels were really hard and bland when my family and I went in on a weekday morning. They don't even serve a fresh orange juice, what kind of bagel shop serves shelf stable orange juice poured from a carton? Like this guy just pulled it out from a fridge behind the register or something it was weird...? And it tasted like straight preservatives. The native NY'er in me wanted to just go in and order a bacon egg and cheese on a plain. So...I did. The cashier replied with "What? You mean the traditional???" No, I mean a bacon egg and cheese...which is Way overpriced! $7 for a BEC on a bagel? Yikes.. The cashier was impatient and rude, my three year old asked for a hot chocolate then changed her mind to OJ right before he finished taking our order and he slammed his hand down on the counter and took a deep breath out of frustration, there was no one behind me & I'm not sure why something so petty made him that frustrated but I won't be going back anytime soon to find out. read more

Cinnamon rolls were pretty disgusting. They give it to you cold for one so I didn't even get to eat it until I got home. The roll itself had no sweetness at all, was essentially just bread. Icing was even more disappointing; was literally goop especially once reheated and wasn't that sweet as well. On top of that, I was first given one that was dated to be made a week and a half ago. Headed back and they gave me a different one but didn't have a date written on it so I don't know how old it was. I have to say the bagels are usually very good. But with good bagels good coffee MUST follow had the unexpected misfortune of 5 urns of empty or cold coffee. We were offered a quick "nuke" of the cold and told no new coffee would be brewed because they close in an hour!! Mind you they have a beautiful looking espresso machine starring at us. One of the top 5 reasons we go to Beaufort every summer for the last 9 years is because of these bagels. We are transplanted Yankees living in TN and there are no decent bagels anyplace...so we go to the Palm and Moon and pig out and bring home a dozen or so to get us by. We have two left in the freezer right now that we have to have very soon. These are TRUE New York Style Bagels. I get the poppy seed or plain and my husband likes the salted. I am giving this establishment one star based solely on customer service, cleanliness and attitude. No one smiles or thanks the customer. The girl making the sandwiches dropped the lower part of a bagel in the trash accidentally, retrieved it quickly, and threw the paper wrapper back in the trash. When I asked if this bagel was going in my sandwich, she became defensive and belligerent, and declared that she 'did not retrieve it from the trash' & produced a large bag that she said she removed from the trash. I was 2-3 ft from her so it was not difficult to see. She made loud disclaimers of my statement as she and the male attendant whispered and laughed. As I observed this behavior, I began to realize that I did not want to eat what they prepared for me and requested a refund. The cashier complied, and robotically handed me my refund. I have been in business for many years and worked with the public, and this is not how to handle an ugly situation if you want customers to return! read more

We were in Beaufort for a few days and stopped in Palm & Moon Bagel. Best bagels I've had outside the NYC area! Also had a terrific corned beef and pastrami sandwich on a rye bagel (my favorite). The staff is personable and accommodating and the 'build your own sandwich' option is another plus. We ordered two dozen bagels to take home and will be ordering more in the future.
