The bagels are VERY good. But as a restaurant this place is lacking... it's is never very busy but something always seems to go wrong or is awkward. I ordered the 5 bean salad to go with my sandwich, great. I received my sandwich with chips instead and pointed it out. Really, no problem, everyone makes mistakes! But the girl working took the chips off my plate and put them back into the chip container?? Are you kidding? Big no. And then the salad was just pre made in a jar from Costco or something.. It tastes good but I'd rather not see that or the cheese they bought from Costco out on the counter, especially when the cheese should be in the fridge... Really skeeves me out that they're going to reuse chips from my plate which had other food on it. read more

On my way out of Beaufort I had a dog with me, and although there are plenty of dog friendly places in Beaufort I didn't want to take the time. Came across Palm & Moon (thanks Yelp!) and said it was just a block off my travel path. Called to verify open today (Sunday) they were. Mentioned I'd be taking out and the person a) indicated there was a big and basically empty free parking lot right across the street and b) asked if I'd like to place my order over the phone to optimize my time. Worked out great. I was there in five minutes, parked less than fifty feet away and was in and out in two minutes. My food and drinks were already ready! I had the Traditional breakfast sandwich - there that's a bagel with egg, cheese, and Taylor Ham (pork roll), and another bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. All delish! Don't judge a book by it's cover with this one! What a little gem. Stopped in before heading to the park, ordered a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and a Sandbar sandwhich. The sandbar is Lox, cream cheese, tomato onion lettuce and capers on your choice of bread which we chose everything bagel. Everything about that sandwhich was perfect!! Salty, sweet, crunchy, creamy! We talked about it for hours and can't wait to go back. Service was friendly and quick. Wasn't too much standing room while we were waiting for our order BUT that just shows how good the food is! read more

The one thing this place has going is that the bagels are legitimately good. Quite good. New York Good. Good enough for me to come back regularly... if the staff can stop talking long enough to remember to toast my bagel. Unfortunately, the coffee is downright bad, I think they mix up carafes because mine tasted burned and flavored. I'll bring my own coffee from home next time. But back to the service: They are too rude and filthy to even be in notoriously unfriendly NY. One time, the staff was using the med kit at the register to nurse a cut and ignoring customers (say nothing of sanitation). Another time, sorry, every time, my order takes far longer than it should. Meanwhile, I watch someone slicing meat, dip her hair into a vat of cream cheese and move on. Then someone wipes her face and proceeds to prep food. But most egregious of all was when we were waiting for one bagel with cream cheese and overheard a whole bunch of gossip and a young worker waving her spatula around. We approached her and said, "we're kind of in a hurry." And she argued, threw a fit and was so rude we may never go back. read more

Palm & Moon is the best place in town to get bagel, salads and paninis for breakfast and lunch. It's also one of the few places i've ever found that serves tomato bisque (one of my absolute favorite soups) They close at 2 so if you have any late afternoon cravings you're out of luck. The downtown location is a great place to bike or walk to and they have a couple of outdoor tables if you like to eat outside. You can pick up some tidbits about South Carolina history if you choose to eat in the dining room, which I found to be pretty entertaining and educational. The service staff is great (you can tell it's a family owned restaurant) and the prices are reasonable. read more

This place was alright in my opinion. Iwent in and ordered a dozen bagels. I also got a tube of their plain cream cheese and a tube of veggie cream cheese. The bagels were good and so were the cream cheeses however I'm not sure if theses were really New York styled bagels. My New Yorker uncle said they didn't have any special New York taste to him, but he doesn't claim to be a bagel expert either. The only problem I had with this place is that they weren't too friendly. I was clearly placing an order for numerous people, but the lady didn't ask if I wanted them toasted or sliced. Sheesh...even bagel chains offer that. I figured a small business owner would want to make sure that base was covered, but maybe not. The bagels here are great! I had an everything bagel with egg and cheese, and it was delicious! Several of us went and got breakfast sandwiches, which came out pretty fast. The atmosphere is really casual. Lots pf seating. Perfect for a quick morning stop after drinking the night before! I knocked this down to three stars because I ordered coffee and I shouldn't have. I ordered a soy latte, and the milk steamer hadn't been cleaned. The latte tasted a little off. I couldn't finish it. The outside of the milk steamer jugs also didn't look clean. read more

My favorite bagels I've ever eaten!l and the most authentic in the area. Wild blueberry bagels and cream cheese have tiny berries with great flavor. Crust is just the right texture. Don't know how I've missed this spot in the past, but so glad I found it! Nice big bagels, salt is my go to and they those there. They also have cinnamon raisin, wild blueberry and olive, plus lots more. Lots of cream cheese flavors to choose from as well. Staff is very nice and happy to chat if they're not too busy. While in Beaufort for a weekend, we decided to check this place out since we LOVE bagels. It was such a cool little coffee shop! The bagels were delicious, but the reason I give this place four stars is the FRESH SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE. Once you have had fresh squeezed, you never want to go back to boxed. The coffee was delicious as well. Cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely not the best bagels I've had, but I was happy to stumble upon this shop in downtown Beaufort while visiting. They pretty much have the typical bagel shop items that you might expect, but I thought that the flavors of the bagels were not very powerful. My go to bagel is generally an everything bagel, and I found that Palm & Moon's was lacking. However, I really enjoyed the jalapeño cream cheese here. It has a nice kick to it that helps bring flavor to bagels that aren't so favorable. On the upside, these guys have plentiful seating, including some places outside. Simply Delicious! Went into Rain-N-Bagels for a cup of coffee and a bagel. We were looking at the scones and the lady behind the counter said she had some fresh cinnamon rolls. They weren't frosted yet but she dropped everything and whipped up a cream cheese frosting to die for (literally whipped up by hand as the mixer had broken). The service here is appalling. Neither worker greeted me or looked at me, even while taking my money. At one point, during which they were chatting and I was waiting, a woman who appeared to be the manager walked in. They immediately started telling her that the plug she ordered for the drain didn't work, just like the last one didn't, and on and on. Breakfast and lunch served daily with awesome varieties to choose from. They even make pizza bagels with their own sauce. Two soups daily and during the summer they had a cold soup as well. Full espresso bar with 18 different syrups to choose from! Weekends are super busy, but that's to be expected. Staff is super friendly and if you can't decide on what you want they'll give you good pairings!) I have tried so far a B.L.T. with a Cheddar Cheese egg, Chipotle Aioli (Mayo), and Spinach instead of Lettuce on Onion Toasted! I have also tried a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese (or what they like to call it: Sausage Traditional) with Maple Walnut cream cheese on a Blueberry bagel. Their scones are so good heated up and muffins taste even better buttered and grilled. I will be back to try their Pizza Bagel, maybe with Bacon, Sausage, Ham and Extra Mozzarella. Also for anyone on the Northern side they have Taylor Ham! I've tasted my husband's Taylor Ham Traditional with Swiss cheese and Garlic & Herb cream cheese on Garlic bagel and it was so good! Their bagel chips are ridiculous. And yes, you can buy just the chips. I love their bagels too but the reason I always make sure to stop by when I'm in town (my dad lives in Beaufort, I live in Florida) is for the chips. They are so freaking good. I was reading some of the other reviews regarding their service, and I am not really sure what people are talking about. I have been going here for years and they are fine. Are they aggressively cheerful? No, but they will make any substitutions you want, put cream cheese on the side, whatever, no problem, they're not "grouchy" at least that I've seen. Perhaps they reserve that for tourists, because this spot is a hit with locals, and none of my friends in the area ever have gripes that I've heard. All in all, this is the best regular (not counting fancy brunches) breakfast that I've had in Beaufort (and before I lived in Florida, I lived here for ten years). read more

since moving to Beaufort,Sc in 2017 I was pretty disappointed since there wasn't an Einstein bros bagel shop around but yesterday we were celebrating my friends birthday and his girlfriend mentioned to us going to breakfast at a place called rain-n-bagels and I was like " there's a bagel place around here!!!" I'm normally very judgmental when it comes to bagels because I love them but I said I'll give it a try. So this morning we head over to this place and it has a nice vibe. The location is tucked in the back of the waterfront park close to the library where FlashBack used to be. they have a pretty decent cream cheese selection but I just went with ole reliable "strawberry cream cheese" . I completely forgot what Einstein bros was for those couple of minutes I was eating this delicacy. I would completely recommend this place to a friend and I'm happy Beaufort has this hidden gem. I will definitely be coming back as my go to bagel shop. read more

I will admit that my hubby and I are bagel snobs as he's from NYC/NJ but let explain why this place is getting 2 stars. I'm from Beaufort and understand the southern way of life. But this place is just plain unorganized. We went on a Sunday morning and ordered 1 plain bagel and 1 bagel with cream cheese. 25 mins!!! 25 freaking mins!!! What the hell? I get being busy but come on. Observations: The barista would make drinks and bring it to a counter on the opposite side of the room where no one was and they'd stay there getting cold. The biggest hold up was the girl making the bagels. She had a very hard time multitasking. She would only do one thing at a time even though there seemed to be almost 20 orders waiting. Example: bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. She would make the egg and then wait till it was done, put the order together and send it out before working on next order. To be fair, there didn't seem to be a lot of room for her to work back there but still. I feel like if they got an experienced line cook that can multitask, things could go a lot faster! The bagels were ...well... stale and disappointing. Veggie cream cheese was good. Although it is stored 20 feet away...to the right of the cashier which slows the bagel maker down even more. I feel that if this place was laid out better and they better trained their staff it would take 25 mins for 2 basic bagels. One last thing, they have not rearranged the place for COVID-19. I feel that if they moved seating around, made more space, the flow would work better for them too. I wish them luck as I want small business owners to succeed and I love supporting them but if they don't do something to help this place out, it won't be around for long. read more
