Bottom line: If you want a pleasant, relaxed non-crowded-diner breakfast experience, including the environment, atmosphere, and good food, try this place. Tired of your corporate, breakfast go-tos? Try these guys. My long time favorite near the train station was too busy to seat us so we went to my backup and very glad we did--Rainbow is now my first choice.

Great breakfast spot! Solid breakfast restaurant with a large menu. The food was hearty and tasty. Everything looked very appetizing. Service was very good; it was prompt and attentive without being excessive. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, as was the staff. Parking was easy; as the covered lot was attached to the building and behind the restaurant. Fantastic breakfast choice for a hearty and delicious meal.

Their signature burger, the Rainbow burger. Quite tasty.

Went with colleagues and we all had their burgers. The service was great. Had a cup of chicken soup before and was surprised by a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. We'll be back soon.

Meeting up with my cousins, we happened upon this restaurant in Elmhurst. Jen was our friendly gracious waitress. The place was busy being a late Sunday morning. I ordered the Greek omelette with hashbrowns and English muffin. I had asked for the hashbrowns, extra crispy, and had to send it back as it still was a little underdone. The omelette was OK, not a flavorful Greek flavoring as expected. My cousin got a fruit bowl on the side, which was large and generous with fresh fruit. My daughter got a Nashville chicken skillet. That was not too impressive. Overall not bad, but would try different items if I come again.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning (at 9:30) for breakfast with a larger party. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated quick! There are so many options for food it was had to select just one. The portions were HUGE and the food came out got and delicious. Great service from the staff, especially having such a large party. All orders were correct and everyone was happy. Can't wait to come back! PROS: * lots of menu options * plenty of parking (parking garage right next door) * excellent service * delicious food * large portions * reasonable prices! CONS: * none

The venue Wasn't too crowded which was a plus. I decided to have dinner with reservations @3pm with the App OpenTable. On time for my reservation with no wait time! Seated immediately, I was excited to have my waitress named Arielle. Immediately, she accompanied me with complimentary bread and water along with the restaurant cocktail and food menus. She was very happy to be able help in any way to make me comfortable and was just a joy to have. My first course was the Iceberg wedge BLT, with my cocktail smoked old fashioned. For the second course I spoiled myself with the filet medallions with lobster tail Oscar style accompaniment sides; truffled mac&cheese, and crab fried rice with mushrooms and scallions. Sheeeshh! That meal was phenomenal! Lobster sat perfectly on top of the beef medallions as they both were served and with gratitude I ate every bit of it! Truffled Mac & cheese were so cheesy it was a perfect mouthful. The rice also had some delicious flavors that enticed my tastebuds with savory goodness! Everything was GOODT! Easter Sunday with great food, good company, and dope service ! Check em out!

Good prices with many selections even if you aren't into seafood including pasta and tacos. The only thing is the seafood needs to be cooked with a lil crab boil or seasoning for additional flavor on the actual crab, etc ... I had 2 bags.... 1-jumbo crab clusters (they actual look like regular snow crab) , 1lb. shrimp, 1/2 lb green mussels (beautiful size and plump), 2 regular crab clusters, and 1/2 lb crawfish. Most importantly you get corn and potatoes in your bag. A perfect amount of food even if you are not a huge eater. Great drink options also.

I enjoyed the pickles, good size, fresh each, breaded perfectly. Our entree consisted of garlic noodles, shrimp, snow crab, corn on the cob, and potatoes. We tried the crab da jour seasoning hott! I thought everything was delicious, plenty of shrimp, there was enough to take home, fresh, tasty food . Melrose park has a gem. Service was very good, attentive. Some customers will have an issue with the service fee included on their bills but I thought it was worth it. Definitely worth the trip

Even if you're just popping in for takeout, the staff is friendly and attentive; you're not "rushed out" because you're not going to be taking a table. My husband loves steak, so we decided to suprise him yesterday with a Father's Day steak dinner from 100 South - everything was great, he loved it, and we can't wait to dine in again sometime soon! Give this place a try - salads, drinks, steaks, fish, desserts.....all are great, fresh, and delicious. Vibe is cozy (yes, it can get loud but you also frequently get to chat with some interesting people at other tables -- usually I am NOT into that at all, but here it just works). Thanks, 100 South, for making Father's Day special and for letting me take a break from cooking the special dinner!

It was our first time dining here, and overall we had a positive experience. For dinner, my husband ordered the beef Wellington, and I had the evening special--crab-stuffed salmon. We also shared the fried calamari appetizer and finished with the mud pie for dessert. Both entrées were enjoyable and well prepared, but neither of us had that "wow, we absolutely need to come back for this" moment. That said, the calamari was excellent--very generous in portion size, and I especially loved the breaded vegetables that came with it. The mud pie dessert was just okay for us. Honestly, the Oreo crust was the standout and our favorite part. One thing I always pay attention to is the restroom situation. While I understand building limitations, I would have preferred the restroom to be located inside the restaurant rather than having to walk into the attached building (even though we didn't have to go outside). Not a dealbreaker by any means, just a preference. The ambience was fine overall, but it felt a little lacking and could definitely be jazzed up to better match a chophouse vibe. Service landed somewhere between fair and mid. I would have appreciated more frequent table check-ins, and unfortunately, seeing our server on her phone behind the counter when the kitchen doors opened did reflect in the final tip. All things considered, I'd give 100 South Chophouse 3.5 stars. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but I'm also not exactly chomping at the bit to return.
