I went in with an intricate lace dress I needed altered in a short period of time and Rainbow Cleaners was beyond helpful and did a BEAUTIFUL job. I thought for sure I'd need to loose the beautiful lace detailing at the bottom of the dress in order for the alterations to be made, but they took the time to cut the detailing off, hem accordingly, and then place it back on. You can never tell it was touched and I've never gotten so many complements on a dress before. Will definitely be going back! read more

I wish I could give this place NEGATIVE five stars. Absolutely the worst dry cleaning place EVER. They broke at least 9 buttons on my husband's dress shirts and a metal zipper on my work skirt in a matter of just a few months of us going to this place. He completely denied that he had broken those even though all of those items were perfectly fine when we dropped them off. He's incredibly unprofessional and unethical. I wish this place would close down permanently. We now bring all of our clothes back to our old dry cleaner on the west side that we absolutely love. DON'T GO TO THIS RAINBOW CLEANERS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES RUINED AND LIKE DEALING WITH THEIR SHADY OWNER. This is my response to the owner's comment below as it doesn't look like it's being published on this page: You must have misunderstood what I said. I was still taking all my nicer clothes to another cleaner (thank god I didn't take them to your shady business!), but that particular skirt had NOT been to another cleaner. And I remember wearing that skirt to work a few days before dropping it off at YOUR cleaner and the zipper was still intact. It's not a skirt I care about that much anyway, but it was just the way you handled that whole situation. I don't even know how a metal zipper like that could completely be broken off. In our 20+ years of dry cleaning, we never had so many issues in just a matter of months. You just completely contradicted yourself and admitted your guilt when you said if you find a damaged article of clothing, you inform your customers at the time of the drop-off. We were NOT informed at the time of the drop-off about the broken zipper (bc it was not broken at the time!) and it implies that the item was fine according to your statement. Nice work. Good luck with your shady business. UPDATE 1/15/15 When there are close to 10 buttons being broken in a matter of months, there's clearly a problem with the way you dry clean those clothes (even if you replace them) especially when we NEVER had that issue with any other places in the past and it speaks a lot about your competency as a dry cleaner. Yes, so the metal zipper must've MAGICALLY just broke off after I picked it up from your place. What a shady liar. I had been going there for about 8 years and NEVER had any issues which is why I started going back even though it's far and my husband and current and former co-workers love that place as well and guess what! my daughter is new to town so I went onto yelp to find a dry cleaning establishment. I directed her to Rainbow. bad experience. A shirt came back with a spot on it. They offered to re-do and would not give a credit. Finally they did. Her white slacks came back with black hair on them and another shirt did not get steamed evenly so the placket on the pocket does not align with the pocket itself. They were not concerned and said they get 1000 pieces a day and asked her if she always checked her dry cleaning before dropping it off? Plus Pretty pricey for what she had cleaned..a suite jacket,a light blazer/two pairs of slacks and a couple of shirts-$57. read more

He knows his customers and has pick-ups ready and waiting as soon as he sees you drive into the parking lot. Prices are competitive. He has a great dog Maverick who is loves to greet guests. I went to this place bc it seemed like it had great yelp ratings - 4.5 stars; however, my experience was disappointing. I went back and read some of the other yelp reviews, and I realized there are certain people who just don't quite fit the profile of a Rainbow Cleaners customer, me included. I'll admit, I'm not really a dog person, but when I have a baby with me and when I see a boxer-type dog nearby, it definitely makes me uncomfortable and nervous. When I was dropping off some clothing items that day, I asked the owner if the dog was scary. He made a snarky remark saying that the dog wouldn't be there if it was scary. Probably a very matter of fact statement, but not really what you say to first-time customers. I mean, I know dogs can be great pets, but you do read about dogs causing injuries to babies and kids occasionally. Nick did try to move his dog away so my toddler and I can enter the shop after his remark. I didn't see a price list that day, maybe I just missed it. But I made the mistake of not mentioning my wanting to use my yelp check-in coupon upon drop off. The coupon states to mention upon "incoming order." I honestly didn't know we had to mention upon drop off. I just figured, well, my order is not an outgoing order (whatever that may be), so it must be an "incoming order" and I can just mention it when I am picking up and paying. The owner didn't let me use it bc he said that it would give him auditing issues and told me to use it next time. I wasn't as lucky as another customer whom he let use the coupon even though she forgot to mention the coupon during drop off as well. If you look on their website, they also have a coupon you can use, but you also need to mention upon dropoff, so that they don't waste time recalculating and redoing your receipt. Either way, it would have been nice for a first time customer to have been able to use the coupon. Sometimes, customer service is just letting a customer know that you appreciate their business and that you'd like for them to continue to come use your services. I am all for supporting local businesses, especially ones that have been there 30+ years. But sometimes, a business doesn't need customers who don't quite appreciate dogs at storefronts and would like to use occasional discounts. read more

I was in a panic as I needed a bridesmaid dress let out just before the wedding and I reached out to Rainbow Cleaners to see if there was a chance that it could be done. I have been using their dry cleaning services over the past few years and knew them to be very reliable. Nick responded to me almost immediately on a Thursday night after 10PM to bring the dress in and they would take a look. If it was possible, he said the dress would be ready most likely on Friday night. I showed up the next morning for Nick to have a look and although there wasn't much fabric to accomplish what I was asking, Nick told me that he would be in contact once the tailor was able to open the dress up. Fast forward to that afternoon and many phone conversations later, Nick called me to come in before closing to see if the dress would fit. I raced over and the dress not only fit perfectly but also showed no signs of being opened up and re-sewn! I was beyond happy with the dress and so appreciative for the fast work. 10/10 would recommend Rainbow Cleaners for whatever you need! read more

I just joined Yelp so I could sing praises for Nick's professionalism and integrity! I recently brought some expensive curtains in that inadvertently got a bit of paint on them. I had taken them previously to another cleaner who evidently didn't bother to try to remove the paint or the mold that was on the bottom edges. They did however press them thereby setting the stains! Grrrr! Nick didn't make any promises but said he would do what he could to get the stains out. He was amazed that the previous cleaner had pressed them without confirming the stains were out. It took about a week and a half, but he was able to get out about 90% of the paint and mold. Through the whole process, Nick was very forth-coming and communicative. He tried several processes, finally soaking them for about a week in some "secret sauce". In the end I'm extremely happy I found Rainbow Cleaners, Nick saved me from having to replace the curtains! I won't say what he charged for the cleaning, he said he felt I had already "been taken to the cleaners" (Har Har!), the amount was so reasonable it's ridiculous! I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend Nick to any and all! I wish more businesses were run by people such as Nick! read more

My second experience with Rainbow Cleaners exceeded all of my expectations. I had to attend a funeral, and I needed the hem on my black dress to be knee-length. I also had a pair of black slacks that hung too low on the heels of my shoes. When I asked asked if he could alter my dress, and I could come back for the pants later, he said he could have them BOTH done by the end of the day. When I came back at 5 pm--they were both ready to wear. He even gave me a discount because I was attending a family funeral. Even though I live 35 minutes away, I will continue to use Rainbow Cleaners for my dry cleaning and alterations. read more

I went here to get my suit tailored. This is a cleaners, if you want a review for cleaning then disregard this. It was one of the more expensive options of the 4 I researched so I decided I could trust them. I gave them my coat to take the sleeves in about 2 inches. I then had to have my slacks taken in at the waist and shorted so I went back and they said that the waist was a little more difficult but they would take it in from the side and that I could get it back in a day or 2 and that if I didn't like it I could be refunded (he has disputed this). I then went back to get my coat, paid, went home and saw that what they had done was simply cut 2 inches off, buttons and all. I personally think that I could do better given the time, then I realized that I had given them my slacks and called what must have been 5 times over a 3 hour period to stop the alteration but then gave up. The next day I came in late and they said they hadn't finished them and I said that I didn't want them done, just to get them to me so I could use them. The man said okay, it will take 20 minutes. So I waited, ate something came back, waited some more then the man arrived after 45min -1h with my pants. They had altered them and they looked horrible. The legs were the right length but they took the waist in all at the back so that the rear pockets are now less than an inch apart. I complained but paid anyways (my immaturity) and left because I had to use them that day and was already late to an engagement. I came back a few days later and tried to either get my pants fixed so they didn't look horrible or get refunded. The only option I was given was that they would take the work out of the waist for free. At this point I took my pants back and contacted Visa to dispute the charge because my pants are now worse then they were before they were tailored. They advised me to take the pants to another tailor to get a second opinion, and I did; he said that the job was horrible and pointed out that they didn't even close the seams and left much of the stitching exposed. Also, to top things off, he said that they hadn't taken it in at all at the sides and showed me that the sides had the original thread even though the man had been adamant that he had taken them in at the sides. I will post again to tell you if I get refunded. One recommendation from the other tailor was to go to a tailor, not a cleaners. They don't know what they/their tailor are doing no matter how many years they have been in business. read more

I guess my first review was too vague so I had to do another one (I've never really reviewed before). Please don't belittle my experience with your unrelated story about parking. I am sorry you don't remember but I certainly do, as it was my clothing that was ruined. I guess this may happen all the time in your line of work but I try to take care of my things and view clothes as an investment. Please move on, I have - I just wanted to warn others.
