Last week I dropped off my mother's vintage wedding dress over 60 years old. Unfortunately, it had been stored in just a plastic bag. This is the dress I was hoping I could be married in in June. With spots, stains, oxidation and discoloration. I could only be hopeful. I met with the owner Nick for a consultation. He was professional, knowledge and meticulous as he outlined the challenges and treatment plan for my dress. At each stage Nick and/or his employees kept updated on the progress and proceeded with the upmost of care. On Saturday I picked up the dress. Nick presented the dress and I was immediately overwhelmed with emotion. The dress looked incredible and truly had been restored to it's former glory. On Sunday I had- my second fitting and first restyling appointment with my daughter, sister-in-law, friends and master seamstress and friend. All were in awe of the transformation. It was unbelievable! I know I wouldn't have made it to the alteration pedestal in my mothers wedding dress if it hadn't been for Rainbow Cleaners, Nick and his crew. I'm pleased to write a review for The Corner Cleaners. I love this place. I'm very picky when it comes to my wardrobe and some cleaners are just not up to par. Previously, I was going to the Corner Cleaners in Manhattan Beach. I was not impressed with the customer service or quality of their work. I am so addicted to Yelp, that I rarely go anywhere without checking that place out on Yelp. That is how I found Rainbow cleaners. Parking was easy (although watch out for teenage drivers - driving school is right next door), service was quick and pleasant, 25% discount for Yelpers was honored without any proof and everything was clean and ready the next day. I dropped off man's slacks, women's jeans and a skirt and my total was $12 after Yelp discount. I'd say that's very reasonable! Will definitely return. read more

I've been through the ringer with dry cleaners all over Los Angeles, from South Bay to Downtown to Hollywood, and Rainbow Cleaners is the absolute best I have encountered. Nick couldn't be a better business owner, doing whatever it takes to appease his highly-valued clientele. And the difference here is that you actually do feel like a valued client! If, for some reason, Nick can't accomodate your cleaning request, he'll tell you who can. I've run my wardrobe through Rainbow a few times now and have been more than happy with the attention paid to detail... any stains, dirty collars/cuffs, wrinkled ties etc. have always (sometimes unexpectedly) come out looking amazing. Rainbow Cleaners is the best priced cleaners for the level of service that you get, which is top-notch. For example, I dropped off a suit yesterday (Thursday 12pm) that I needed altered and cleaned by early Monday, latest, for an important event. I received a voicemail on my cell about an hour ago (Friday 4pm), letting me know that, not only the 1 suit, but all my suits had been altered, cleaned and were ready for pick-up! I needed to alter a leather skirt to fit more like a pencil skirt and decided to try this place. The owner teased my about me wanting to have my skirt fit "tight". He said, "I guess fashion is personal" He was very up front about what his seamstress may have trouble with and how there was a chance that it wouldn't fall the way I wanted it to. I appreciated his honesty. The skirt came out great; he even put a rush on the order because I wanted to wear it three days after dropping it off for my birthday. I guess the price was reasonable. Very happy with my first experience- several pants, a suit, and a silk tie all cleaned and pressed without any problems. They got some long standing food stains out of the tie nicely. What would have taken them over the top is if they repaired the tattered top button on my suit, but it wasn't that noticeable, so whatever. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've been going to the cleaner periodically for the past three years for dry cleaning. I've been pleased with there service each and every time. On the most recent visit, I had a couple 2-piece suits cleaned, as well as a belt loop on one of the pants repaired from a popped seam. Great service, as usual. One minor glitch in that the repaired pants weren't ready on the promised date because it was still in the process of being cleaned after the repair job. The owner called me as soon as it was ready, which was less than a half hour after my visit. Other than the minor inconvenience on this one occasion, I'm quite happy to make this my regular cleaner. read more

It was my first time trying this place and I was very disappointed with the customer service. I dropped off a suit to be dry cleaned and I showed the owner my 20% off Yelp offer. He seemed hesitant to use it and said "it's only for 1st time customers". I said I have never been there before, and he said "ok, but you can only use it one time". As I was showing him the offer on my phone, I saw him write "20% off" on the ticket. When my husband went to go pick up the suit, the owner charged him FULL price. I had already told my husband what the total amount should be after the 20% off, so he knew the amount the guy told him was wrong. He told the owner that I used the Yelp offer and it should be 20% off. The owner AGAIN told my husband that offer is only for 1st time customers. My husband said we have never been there before. The owner didn't seem to believe him and said, "It doesn't say on the ticket that she used the Yelp offer." My husband said that he was going to call me to confirm or have me come pick it up myself, and the owner said, "let me check the ticket again." He then said, "I'll just do it for you this time, but it's only for the first visit." The owner acted as if we were lying that it was our first time there and made us feel unwelcome and didn't seem like he wanted to honor the 20% off deal from the beginning. If he doesn't want to accept discounts, then he should remove the offer from his Yelp page. If the Yelp offer is there to attract new customers, then he might get new customers, but they may not return if that's how he treats them. Also, beware of the dog. I took a dress in for alterations for an important event, and they adjusted my alterations until they were perfect and ensured my dress was ready on time. I found this place on yelp and was definitely sticker shocked. I should've known better since the location is on the edge on Manhattan Beach. The prices here are a lot pricier than normal. I didn't get a good vibe from the male worker in the front checking me out.
