Not sure why this Doug's Diner only has 3.5 stars -- we moved here in Oct '25 from out of state, and have visited 3-4 times already! The atmosphere is eclectic in a positive way -- the whole place reminds me of where the neighbors would hang out, they also have a bar area for those that want to watch sports, or just have a quick eats, and the decor is a mix of culture, humor and Loveland history...I think it's quiet entertaining! The servers have been THE BEST at breakfast/brunch -- always up beat, great suggestions, and have a great sense of humor. Now, the food portions are -- GINORMOUSE!! As fans of Doug's Day Diner in downtown Loveland, you might say we were a little miffed to see what appeared to be a ripoff here on 29th Street. There's even heavy overlap between the two places' menus. But that's for them to work out I guess. What I can tell you is that my wife raved about her Reuben, and she's been trying Reubens all over town. And my Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, with Green Chili (which is not actually green in this incarnation) was the best breakfast burrito I have had since Qdoba changed their chorizo recipe for the worse. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, and the prices were about average for 2024. To our surprise, we are now officially fans of this Doug's Diner! p.s. I have not felt the need to review a restaurant recently, as we have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of the restaurants in town. We only frequent locally owned restaurants and the offerings in Loveland are amazing! Unfortunately, our experience at this place was disappointing and a waste of money tonight. Not sure what was happening, as it was not busy for a Saturday night. We sat on the patio and our server was prompt to get drink orders and food orders. Drinks came, food came a bit later. Didn't order much, wings, side salad, chips and quac. And a side of fries. My Husband has had the wings there in the past and they were good. Tonight however, not so much. We would have requested more sauce and another round of drinks but we sat.....and sat...... nothing. So we waited for the bill, let the server know our dissatisfaction and will not return. As Small Business owners as well as restaurant owners it make me sad to leave a review like this but not sure if anyone cares anymore. read more

All of the food is spectacular. My favorite breakfast joint in northern Colorado! Breakfast burrito and stuffed tots are my favorite!

A very nice local establishment located on the northern part of Loveland Colorado. They prayed themselves on local ingredients and great flavors. There's plenty of parking and ample seating within the restaurant. I had the breakfast burrito and it was amazing. I love green chili and this place did not disappoint. Went there in the 26th of December. Hardly anybody in there but three or four guys at the bar and one guy on a computer near the door. Asked him. Can we sit anywhere? He said yes. So we went and sat down and we waited and we waited and then we got up and got some menus and then we waited some more and then we said to heck with this and left and nobody even said a word other than sit anywhere. My recent visit to Doug's Diner, was the perfect spot post hike. In the mood for a sandwich and some green chili, Doug's had both on the menu to satisfy my craving. My friend opted for a chicken sandwich and a side of French fries. For a beverage, she decided on their iced chai latte. Our food was brought out in roughly 10-12min. The first few bites of our meal put smiles on our faces and was extremely tasty. The latte was good, and worked well for a slight caffeine buzz. The meal overall was good and I'd like to try some of their other menu items. Overall, we had a great visit. Our waiter was polite, friendly, and made us feel very welcomed. The restaurant itself had average noise level and wasn't too crowded. This place was a nice stop, if in the area I recommend trying them out. read more

Where do I begin? - Service was extremely slow, Sunday at noon. - Ordered the Patty Melt, medium, with extra crispy fries. Rye bread was not grilled, a toaster could have done better. Burger was cooked well done. Onions were not grilled/caramelized with the burger, simply chopped up red onions. Best deal to-go Breakfast Burritos in loveland! They are much bigger than a regular breakfast handheld burrito and they don't skimp on meat! It also comes with a coffee/ fountain drink and cheaper than the other Doug's in Noco! I love all of them, they have adobada, asada, chorizo, turkey sausage and bacon. You can mix and match red chili green chili or gravy! They are made to order! Hidden gem I tell you! I also love their 99 cent mimosas! Great food and great deal! read more

I am so glad that this restaurant is close to us! I visited this morning for the second time since moving to the area, and I was blown away by the quality of the food AND service! I got the tamales (which I believe is not a regular menu item) and they were AMAZING. They reminded me of my grandmother's tamales! My husband got a papas plate and it was equally fantastic. I love that they make their own chili and gravy and even have a gluten free option for the green chili! We are both pretty sensitive to food additives and have to be very selective about where we eat out, so it brings us great peace of mind to know that there's somewhere close-by that makes everything fresh in-house. I was so sad eating here! When they first opened I came and it was the best food!! Chicken strips were the the BEST I HAD EVER they were juicy and a good size portion. TODAY- the chicken was small portion and just gross. Very dry, not crunchy. The papas that I got when they first opened were phenomenal- today it was completely different potatoes (small shredded/frozen hash browns VS fresh thick shredded potatoes) and just not good. No seasoning and meh tasting. The pancakes were dense and under cooked/raw in the middle. Not sure where their food quality went but this restaurant is completely different today than when they first opened a few months ago. Very sad. read more

Door says hours on Saturday are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm Showed up at 6:45 pm on a Saturday. I was standing outside on the phone. An employee locked the door and put up the closed sign right in front of me. They closed 1 hour and 15 minutes early. They're hardly open to begin with and then they close when they're supposed to be open. It's just ok good to begin with. I could see inside. They had all of 2 people at the bar tonight. First experience, Take Out - Eggs Benedict w/ spinach. Eggs perfect. Hollandaise tastes good, but too much. 1/2 got tossed. A little goes a long way. Bacon, though thick, is overcooked, hard to chew, therefore; not tasty. I Would visit again in hope my comments help lessen Holladaise amount and lessen bacon cooking time. read more

(Zero star review) I've never left a bad review for any restaurant I've ever been in whose service was not favorable but the quality of service my 9 year old daughter and I received tonight was hands down the *worst* I can recall ever having. I really hate to leave this type of review because we absolutely love eating at the other Doug's locations and we have been for years. I just recently discovered their newest location off of 29th in Loveland a week or so ago and wanted to stop by for dinner with my daughter. It was 7 and they closed at 8 so I figured we would be able to get in and out by then it being just the 2 of us and there being maybe 2 tables dining at the time. We walked in and were sat down with menus and another guy came to take our drink order shortly thereafter. He brought us our drinks and never came back. Looking at the bar there were customers who were coming in after we did and were getting drinks, which is fine. However, he just kept serving the customers at the bar, looked in our direction twice and kept serving and refilling and chatting. There was one customer at the bar who noticed my daughter and I had not been helped yet and told the person she was with and even made eye contact with me but that was it. We waited 20 minutes without one person coming over. We ended up flagging the guy who sat us who was also waiting on one of the other tables (they actually had food) and asked for a to-go cup for my daughter's drink so we could pay for our drinks and leave. He apologized, said he would pay for our soda and iced tea, we left and will *never* go back. My mind is still blown at how bad the service was. It seemed as though our waiter was tending to the bar over us just for the tips. Ended up just going across the street to get her some 7-11 nachos because we didn't have time to go to another restaurant. It's sad how my 9 year old noticed we hadn't placed our order yet and the waiter kept serving new people. She even asked why he wasn't helping us and tried to raise her hand to get his attention. Doug's Diner is one that has spread it's services to multiple locations and still doesn't know exactly what they are all about. It screams Identity crisis to the max with a menu that is literally all over the place that is trying to put a Mexican fling in spices but also extremely traditional but also trying to be a bar all at the same time. The loveland location in particular is far too big and spread itself thin with awkward spacing and the ability to make you feel awkward as soon as walk in. Let's really talk about the food though. The spicy ruben, though the combo of everything put together was delicious, was laking entirely of spice. Spicy wasn't even in the sandwich and not a bit of it touched my tongue to even give it a tingle of spicy. Was it on your plate? Cause it wasn't here. The sandwich meet was also incredibly dry and had the impression that it had been exposed to air for a very long time before entering my plate. On all three dishes that were ordered, the fries were under cooked and though they came out hot, they didn't stay hot and I'd say not even golden. The two burgers that were also ordered were beyond done. They waiter did not ask how they would like to be made and at that point in time, we should have known what we were getting, well done with a side of chard if you please. Both burgers couldn't even be finished even with a side of pickles that barely satisfied the taste and the feeling of dryness going down your throat. We have been to several of the Doug's Diners and wanted to try out their newest location. It was busy when we arrived but we only had to wait about 10 min for a table. Our server came over immediately and got our drink orders. The menu is pretty much the same as the other Doug's Diners but one big difference is this location serves dinner including PIZZA! I had the Sharon, and we also ordered a Tamale burrito and the Adovada Papas. As always the food is delicious. Plus the portions are huge. We'll be back to try out dinner. read more

We were in Dougs Diner yesterday afternoon and ordered nachos, what they made for us wasn't anything that even looked like nachos, it was in a bowl with cheez whiz dumped over the top of burnt taco chips now I know why they dumped all the cheez whiz over the top, to cover up their burnt chips. So u burn chips and don't throw them in the trash and make fresh un burnt chips but dump a pint of cheez whiz over the top? Horrible food, go downtown to the real Doug's Diner. read more

My hamburger was supposed to be medium; it was very well done. The French fries weren't cooked all the way; they were hard and tasted like cardboard. Went back to the restaurant again and was still blown away by the service and the food. This is my 3rd or 4th time at this location and was left with nothing but positive things to say.
