My husband I recently celebrated our 40th anniversary in Kauai and invited our family to join us. This was no easy task as three of our grandchildren are under 2 years of age, and everyone had to fly from the mainland. I researched baby gear rentals on Kauai and found several companies with very good reviews. I contacted each of them with my questions and requested prices. Mel Espinet, from Rainbow Travel, got back to me within 10 minutes of my email. He kept in touch with me through the entire booking process via email or text messages. When we arrived at the resort for check-in, Mel was standing in the lobby! He delivered clean, quality furniture (2 cribs, 2 booster seats), a Bob™ stroller, sand toys, beach chairs and umbrellas and a basket of indoor toys. Everything was in excellent condition!!! Our grandbabies were excited by all the toys and had a great time playing all week. We had to leave the resort at 9:00am on our last day to catch flights back to the mainland. Mel was knocking on our door at 8:15am, so that we could check-out with no worries about baby equipment. I would recommend Mel Espinet, and Rainbow Travel to anyone who needs to rent baby equipment, beach chairs and umbrellas and baby toys on Kauai! My husband and I traveled to Hanalei, North Shore Kauai. We wanted travel with our 2 kids , so decided to rent 2 pack-and-plays and one umbrella and 2 beach chairs, we decided to rent those 2 pack-and-plays instead of bringing them from home.   The process of renting the equipment was simple. I sent an email to Rainbow Travel  and was with a quick reply. We were arriving later in the evening- so Rainbow Travel  delivered it and talked  with the property manager at our rental property.,     The pack- and- plays where very clean and included sheets that came with an extra mattress no charge. Mel ( owner of Rainbow Travel) was very kind and friendly he told us where the nice beaches where. This is simple, effective, reasonably inexpensive for those who want to travel  with your children. I used Rainbow Travel for my family trip to Kauai in December for Christmas. My baby was nine months at the time and needed a bunch of baby equipment. I thought and I wanted to bring the stroller an the plane. But I changed my mind that on our trip we can rent one. We also decided that our baby could sleep in a pack and play but decided a crib would be better. So I was glad I found Rainbow Travel. They didn't just have everithing we needed, but everithing was inexpensive, and they would delivery right away.  We ended up renting a Bob stroller and a crib. I have to send it to my parents house and they were set up and everything when I showed up. There where sheets provided. Perfect and great service. I highly recommend this company!!!! Mel , the owner was so wonderful to work with and he was on time for both the delivery and pickup! He responded our emails right away and helped us the most he could. I realized we needed a double BOB stroller for our babies so it can go on walks! Mel delivered it right away! Amazing service!!!!!!! We used Rainbow Travel during our recent vacation in Kauai and had a very good experience. It was great to not have to fly with all our baby gear. We rented a car seat and stroller, both of which were clean and in like new condition. They were super friendly and helpful. After our first day there, we realized we needed a few extra things, and they went out of their way to get them to us by the next day. One tip: If you are going to the beach with a toddler, definitely get a a portable shelter. The sun is very strong and there is little to no shade at many of the beaches. Also, it doesn't hurt to have some sand toys. read more

we used rainbow travel for the rental of a crib and highchair for our granddaughter while visiting with us in princeville. mel was wonderful.....quickly responds to emails. also does delivery/pickup on sundays. equipment was in great shape and he was on time for both delivery and pickup. we have scheduled another trip to kauai in november and if our son/daughter-in-law and grandbaby can swing the trip with us, we wouldn't think of calling anyone else. read more

We stayed in Princeville for a month and rented a Jeep jogging stroller and a bed rail for our toddler - everything was in excellent condition and their prices were by far the BEST!!! When I called Mel, he said he could make the delivery. We ordered a pack n play (includes a matress and sheets for free), a stroller , high chair, and a toy box!!!It was a big delivery and far away but he was prepared. We decided to rent gear for our first adventure with our 1 year old and it proved a success. We didn't have to haul everything on the plan and Rainbow Travel made the process super simple to rent a baby backpack and a beach kit (pop-up tent, cooler and sand toys).
