This was our first time in the area. We traveled up just stay the night to take the kids and the family here. The Ambiance is great. It's well-decorated with nice minor animatronics. The fish tanks look really good. Overall the environment is worth the trip. The food was okay. Expect to spend between 19 and $29. It's not fresh farm-to-table type stuff. It looks like corporate type stuff that's prepared any food processing place and shipped to be heated. But overall it wasn't bad. You're definitely playing for the environment but hey it's worth it. Our waitress was phenomenal. We tried to use a Groupon and they seem to have a lot of trouble and frustration trying to figure out how their corporate had setup the way to redeem it. There's like 6 different steps just to use it. And unfortunately nobody there knew how to use it. It was a $90 for $100 Groupon so it wasn't even worth the aggravation and the 45 minutes for them to figure out how it worked. We actually received the day prior some coupons for my wife's birthday they were a much better deal. But we already paid for the Groupon. My advice skip the Groupon because the parent Mega corporation that owns the Rainforest Cafe has made a mess of that. Yes the parent company is an investment company that owns all kinds of properties and restaurants. The Groupon is not like a regular Groupon which we use all the time. We made it a reservation and good thing we did. When we left the line was going out the door. It's located right in a very cool outlet mall. If you're coming spend the day because there's plenty of things to do. Overall the experience was good. Food was just okay. Kind of reminded me of the quality that you would get it on Ponderosa but nicely arranged. But it's a good time for the kids in the family. Again if you see it Groupon skip it. Sign up and get the coupons instead. its a good experience, and that is what they are selling the experience. And the kids love it! read more

I went there for a 5yr old birthday party. It wasn't appropriate for it. The food was not good and cold fries, who eats cold fries the service was slow, and priced too high for the occasion. The atmosphere was good for kids, but not enough room for them to enjoy the surroundings. Shoppers constantly crowding the entrance, etc. I will not be going back. read more

Really disappointed, in fact, I will probably never come back. What I expected to be a great 1 on 1 outing with my 5 year old birthday boy left me angry. 1 adult, 1 child. 2 lemonades. $46!? The steak I ordered Medium came out VERY well done. Once I could finally flag down the waitress to tell her, it was too late to do anything about it as I had an appointment at the aquarium in 15 minutes and couldn't wait for a replacement. (no discount was given) The veggies, I ordered zucchini, were smothered in half cooked red onions and peppers - which I don't like. My birthday boy never got any recognition that it was his birthday at all. I saved and took time off work to be able to take him here so my son (#3 of 4 kids) could feel special for his birthday lunch with mommy. I feel like I wasted precious time and money. read more

We had a dirty table first off. My brother-in-law got a chocolate covered hand when he sat down. I had a mac and cheese covered floor and a dirty napkin on my chair. Once that was cleaned up, we ordered. Over 50 minutes later our food hadn't showed up yet. We watched 2 other tables come in , seat ,order, get their food , eat, and leave . While we were still waiting for our food . We also watched the waitress spill some fries on the table. She picked them up with her bare hands, out them back on the plate and served them to her guest. read more

There are some pretty awful reviews out there so I thought I should post something that was not only true but a positive experience. I had their rainforest cafe burger and it was really, really good. Cooked nicely, with bacon and so big I had to cut it in half. Another member of my family had the ribs and also thought they were great. The kids loved their pizza and hot dogs and the other two members of our party had some sort of wraps. Needless to say, we didn't need carry out boxes. We didn't order and appetizer or dessert but we had the collectible cups for the kids...yes, very pricey but it was for my son's birthday. We made reservations so there was no wait. We did not wait long for our food and our waitress was nice. I think we spent around 130 including tip. It was worth it to me...for my kids. Also, it was on a Sunday around three. They were not overly busy so maybe that was why the service was better. I have been there one other time and had about the same experience. read more

Took our visiting 8 yr old grandson to the Rainforest Cafe. Food was OK. Children's menu had a nice selection. Animals did not make as much noise and movement as I remember them from years ago. The problem was the terrible, horrible service. Food took 20-25 minutes to come out. Once we were all finished we waited at least 10 minutes and no one came to clear our table or bring my grandson his dessert. I had to catch the waiter. Another 5-10 minutes until the dessert was served. The waiter knew the service was bad. He brought the check before the dessert came. However, it took another 5-8 minutes for him to pick up the check and another 5-8 minutes for him to come back with the charge slip. I complained to the manager. He was very nice, admitted that he knew service was subpar because he was short of staff, that it was up to him to remedy this, and gave us 20% off the bill. I mentioned this to a friend and she said she used to go to the Rainforest Cafe with her husband and stopped going because the service was so poor. So, this does not appear to be a temporary problem but a chronic one. read more

let me start at the beginning. the hostesses were very friendly. they said there would be about a thirty minute wait and we only waited about twenty-five. our waitress came to our table about ten minutes after we were seated. she seemed very annoyed to be serving my four kids. not sure what she thought the clientele would be. she brought the wrong drink for one of my daughters and got really short after I asked my daughter if she would just drink the one she brought and my daughter said she wanted what she ordered. about fifteen minutes after ordering, the runners brought what seemed to be part of our tables meal. we quickly realized it wasn't ours. luckily I acted fast and took the plates away from my kids and set them to the front of the table, because when the waitress finally realized what had happened, she came over, grabbed the plates, said "yeah these aren't yours," and put them directly from our table in front of guests at the next table over. just didn't seem right to me. gross! she did check back a couple times and after having my debit card out on the table for ten minutes or so, went and got the check for me. my last complaint would be prices. if i'm getting an excellent meal, I don't mind spending the money. however, the very average burgers are around $11 and you have to pay extra for fries, and a turkey wrap is $13. everything is pretty big, but just not that great tasting. overall, its a great concept for children. the execution just needs to be better. i'll probably find myself back in another year or so when my kids beg me to take them there. and i'll probably leave super annoyed just like every other trime I've gone. read more

Let me start with saying thank you rain forest in the great lakes crossing mall in auburn hills Michigan! Thank you for ruining our one (1) year anniversary dinner! We wanted to go somewhere different & fun so we thought it would of been perfect for us, but it became our nightmare fast! I don't know what was worse, the food, service, or the price!? ok just like I wrote it then. the food was sooo bad!! it was not only bad but it was served ice cold! The service was the worst we have ever had in our lifes. we got our food befor our drinks & the only reason why we got something to drink then was because we had to ask another waitress for them Alexis never checked on us once! We never got napkins or wet naps & I got ribs, hmmm! The worst service & the worst waitress (Alexis) story go's on & on but I think you got it! so when we thought it couldn't get worse it did, after waiting for an half an hour after eating for the Bill! I opend it & I think I went to the other side right then because it was the biggest bill ever, for two peope that don't drink we should of never seen a bill that was almost a hundred dollars! Now I would gladly pay that if the food & service was good, but the main thing is if my lady is happy & she was not intact she like myself is still unhappy about our 1st annivers.ry dinner we had last night on (6/8/13) now kids love it there so this is not for people going there with kids because you'll be happy if thay are, but I still think thay are riping evryone off!
