Rainforest was my kids favorite place here in Boston, then it closed down & the world had ended for them. One random trip in NJ last year I stopped into the mall for something and was in Vera Bradley and the kids were being typical Boys & running around like crazy... Then the woman working said " Want some free Rainforest coupons" To which I was like WHAT?! Rainforest, WHAT?! I had been coming to this area for years to visit and do things & NEVER knew Rainforest was here... so we walked through the mall and once we got close the kids saw it & LOST THEIR MINDS... That was 1.5 years ago and we have been back WAY too many times since then, almost planning trips around them being able to come to Rainforest, we are 6 Flags G.A season ticket holders as well, so we come down & make a day of it all the time. Food is ok, slightly overpriced for what you get. The menu has much selection, I just wish there were more things, considering we come often I just feel like the menu is often the same. The kids love their Nuggets and things so that works for me. Im a member of Landry's Select as well, so the Mgr always comes over to say Hello and Check in, I feel like we are old friends now as he seems to remember us every time! The drinks are from the menu and they are all fruity & tropical*ish. There is a bar and they can often just do other plain drinks which helps. The store out front is surprisingly affordable, you would think it be highly overpriced, but it isn't. Parking is great, because its the mall!!! Will def be back next trip! read more

The last time I went to a Rainforest Cafe was probably at least 25 years ago, but now that I have animal-loving children, I knew we should check it out. My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised and my kids absolutely loved the experience. The animatronics were mostly still in decent working order, though the alligator water feature was under renovation--a disappointment to my reptile-loving son. The gift shop could have been stocked with more "Rainforest Cafe" centric toys and merchandise (the appearance of numerous Paw Patrol toys was odd and detracted from the atmosphere). The service here was really wonderful. Our waitress, Daniela, was so kind, enthusiastic and capable. She was so sweet to our kids and otherwise very attentive. It really made the dining experience that much more pleasant. The hostess and manager were also great. We were able to be seated early without a problem. As for the food, we were pleasantly surprised. The shrimp scampi flatbread was very tasty; not soggy at all. I ordered the Aloha salmon and shrimp and would highly recommend it. The glaze was really delicious and both the salmon and shrimp were cooked well. We came with low expectations regarding the food and were left pleasantly surprised. The souvenir cups are such a fun, nostalgic touch and of course the kids thought theirs were the coolest things ever. Overall, I would love to see Landry's invest more in restoring and sprucing up these remaining Rainforest Cafe locations. They are such unique experiences for kids, offering something transporting and magical in their hometown malls. Do it for the kids and the nostalgic millennial parents! read more

We waited 15 minutes for a party of 5 on a Friday night. The restaurant has its own store which helps kill time. Children love this place, cute interactive jungle with animal sounds, rain, thunder, birds, chimpanzee, monkeys, elephant and Hercules. For this reason it gets a 3. Visited Rainforest Cafe for my daughter's 8th Birthday! I love all the theatrics of the restaurant when you walk in, Rain falling, the huge Snake hanging to the Gorilla's and Elephants. We were seated immediately as it didn't seem busy. Our waitress was great as well as the other staff members who stopped to make sure everything was good. The drinks were good and to my liking, you get to keep the glass at the end. The food however was slightly bland. We did have to add salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce to all our meals for flavor. Rainforest Cafe is set in an enchanting indoor environment that attempts to emulate the feeling of dining under the canopy of the rainforest. Now in fairness, I haven't dined in the rainforest, but I'm pretty sure they don't have man made fountains or mechanical apes swinging from trees. I'm just a sheltered New Yorker, what do I know? I thought that the sound effects were disruptive to my conversation at the dinner table. I don't know if I can really be mad about that but I wouldn't recommend bringing a date you want to learn about. You could smile and nod your way through a dinner date and have unknowingly agreed to pay for a cruise ship voyage for two to Staten Island! Anyways if you're looking to give your kids a cool experience without imbibing anti Malaria pills, maybe this is a good bet. The food is expensive but only mediocre In quality. I went for a salad and felt that my meal could have easily been a prepackaged salad kit that was mixed together in the kitchen. The service was surprisingly pleasant and prompt. Just when I thought this place was for kids I was so impressed by the venue, staff and food. It's kid friendly with tons to see. I went in to celebrate my nieces 5th birthday and she was blown away with the restaurant. She almost forgot we went for food and not the zoo. The adult drinks were delicious and fairly priced since they came with a complimentary souvenir cup (yay) food was fresh, well portioned and I loved that the waitress grabbed us from the gift shop to ensure we had a warm meal. Themed restaurants are hard to find in the area and although, a bit over priced, I cannot wait to come back to this enchanting little forest. read more

This is a family & kid-friendly restaurant located inside Menlo Park Mall. We went for a birthday dinner. It's better to make a reservation in advance if you plan to go so you don't have to wait a long time for your party to be seated. Before you enter the restaurant, there's a rainforest-themed gift shop that has a lot of souvenir items such as plushies and graphic t-shirts with silly wordplay puns on them. I own one with a sloth sprawled across the front that reads: "I work out. Just kidding. I take naps." We were seated next to a giant gorilla hanging off a tree branch along the ceiling and it would periodically "rain" next to us. The waiter who assisted us was friendly and helpful. Our group ordered the Pastalaya, the Chicken Fried Chicken, and the Rasta Pasta (we picked the Alfredo sauce). All of our dishes which were seasoned well & way better than I had expected them to be. The drink could have been improved with less ice. If you order one of their signature drinks, they let you keep the souvenir glass by getting a new one at the gift shop once you're done with a meal. Out of all my experiences at rain forest there's a reason the avg star for this location is 2.5. A group of friends and I decided to take our kids here for dinner. We drove all the way out from the city just to come here for dinner. To begin we were seated very quick which was great! Service: our waitress was over whelmed with the 11 of us. She never brought the kids water after we asked 3 times it was until the 3rd time she remembered after some other server brought it to us. She was too busy chatting away with the table behind us to follow up on our orders. Never came to the table to ask if we needed anything The kids food: frozen pepperoni pizza made my son throw up in the middle of the night. (Yay nothing like chunks of pepperoni and tomatoes sauce to clean out of white sheets)The cheese pizza was dry as hell. The sliders, Mac and cheese, and nuggets seem to have been a hit. The portions were small. It arrived before our food came Our food: was delicious. We were happy with it. However it took forever to come. Appetizers never came because the kids finished all their food and we still didn't have our apps before they finished so we had to hail her down to just cancel it at that point we just wanted our meals. When the food came you could tell it had been sitting there under the hot lamps for awhile and that was because our server never followed throw and was doing other things and busy socializing. To top it off my friend ordered a shrimp pasta dish and instead got some Jamaican rice and shrimp dish. She liked it and didn't feel like complaining or sending it back bc she thought the other dish she ordered would just take even longer to come so she was over it! They also need to update some of the animals and do something about the empty fish tank. I've been to many locations especially in Canada and I remember spending my 13th bday at the toe it location and loved it I had such a good time and the food was always good. Had an absolute amazing time for my daughters 4th birthday party. let me start off by saying, Carla was an absolute great person to work with. She returned all of my calls and answered all of my questions. The staff at the cafe were on top of everything and were in sight at all times. The food and drinks for adults was awesome. The kids enjoyed theirs as well. Everyone had a blast. The one thing I can say is this place can be a hit or miss with the kids. There are few moving animals( elephants) the live thunder sounds and flashing lights was amazing but can be a bit scary. Initially my daughter was scared but once all of the kids arrived she completely forgot about it and it became fun for her. At one point all of the parents were having so much fun we forgot about the kids. I would say this place is missing a designated area for the kids to run around but my kids did it anyway. Let me not forget, the price was amazing! The party bags were too cute and the best part I didn't have to do much. Great job guys! Will be back soon! read more

This place is the ABSOLUTE WORST!! I came here for a small party with 6 adults and 4 kids. It took over an hour and a half to get the food. We had to speak to the manager and the food came out shortly thereafter. The food came out wrong and cold. Well done burgers came out rare, fries were ice cold like they were on the line for hours. You are better served going to get fast food at a chain. Steer clear of this disastrous establishment!!! But when our car had an accident in the neighboring towns we decided to relive old memories and go have dinner at rainforest cafe! The wait was a little long, but nothing beats waiting for your table like walking around the mall, and enjoying your evening before sitting down to eat! The staff working there were all extremely nice! Our server was very attentive, and the lady (I forget her name) who was working the register in the gift shop was also very nice, and good with the kids running around. Our food was... a little bit of a let down, but let's face it. You don't go to rainforest cafe for the food. You go for the atmosphere, the nostalgia. I had my granddaughters on a Saturday afternoon and I decided they might like to go to the rainforest cafe to see the animatronic animals. What the heck was I thinking. First of all this restaurant has seen its day. It's outdated and half of the animatronics are not working correctly. Now can we start with the food. I ordered my granddaughters the kids meals shrimp and the kids meal Pizza and I ordered myself the combination appetizer platter that I figure I would share with them also. The food was horrible. Microwavable nasty tasteless food. I don't understand what's going on with this place. I know that they make their money with the theme of the animals and the storm that starts every half hour inside this place but let's be real, this place sucks. They made me wait 40 minutes to be seated and 1 hour for my meal to arrive. I wouldn't mind waiting an hour if the food was good, but the food was crap. This is one of these places that is going to be closing soon because I can't see a future for this place. Manager came by our table and asked me if everything was okay. I was blunt and honest I told him how horrible the food was and how long and horrible our wait was. They gave us a discount on our check. By the way we waited waited waited and waited for the check to arrive, it never did. I had to go to the front and ask the manager to please get us our check. Waitstaff were spread across the entire dining room instead of working stations, which led to my waiter often being absent for extended periods (and place was only 1/3 full). Prices aren't on the menu for many items. This is a sketchy practice at a place that's already overpriced due to the atmosphere. My $10 margarita was a glass packed with ice and a splash of actual drink. I took two sips and the drink mysteriously became half empty! Seriously, I was so disappointed that after getting home, I made myself a real margarita. Food was decent, but like other things, way overpriced. We went here for my sons bday dinner. It was my first time coming here and I am glad with the choice. This place is rainforest themed with the appropriate jungle animals (some animatronics and some just statues). Therese an elephant simulator that how's off every 10-15 minute to give the feel like there are elephants traveling nearby. It's really cute but can catch you off guard the first time you see/hear it. LOL! The food was good and the portion was decent. I had the pastalaya and had to add salt and extra pepper to my liking. Great experience for families. My goddaughter is seven and was in absolute love with this place. The fake sky and rainforest feel is so cool for kids. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. They also serve alcohol which is a plus. Lost a star because the wait time was wild. Anytime I go there I have to wait an hour. But I just roam around the mall until my reservation is called. Had a great experience visiting the Menlo Park Rainforest Cafe! I honestly didn't go in with high expectations as places like this there is more emphasis put on the ambiance than the food. But my party was pleasantly surprised by how good the appetizers were, particularly the Korean lettuce wraps. It was perfectly crispy with a great kick from the sauce which balanced perfectly with the slaw and lettuce wraps. For the main course I had the Jungle Steak and Shrimp which was pretty solid. Though I will say, with the coconut shrimp the breading and sauce tends to lean sweeter which isn't bad but should be taken into consideration if you're particular about your coconut shrimp. Lastly, our waiter was attentive and patient, even when some members of my party were hemming and hawing over the menu too long, and I believe the manager stopped by to check in with us which was nice. I would leave one star if I could. It was so dirty. We sat in a booth with all the fake leaves and vines above us and a freaking cockroach flew out. We should have just got up and left right then but felt bad since we had placed our order. The kids meal pizza looked like it came out of the frozen section of the supermarket but even worse. Our daughters food came out quick but ours took forever and by the time we got ours she was ready to go. The wait was long with a lot of empty tables (I'm sure a staffing issue) but we could have easily just walked around the mall and came back when we got texted. We just hung out on the rocks and gift shop. Staff was very friendly. The manger came over to make sure everything was alright.
