Rainforest Cafe is a fun place for kids to enjoy an atmosphere that gives the illusion of being in the rainforest. The food is okay, not the best tasting food. A very fun place to have a kids birthday party, and fun get together with children. Adults will enjoy the atmosphere. The atmosphere is fun, lively, and definitely a place to create memories. Took my son for lunch. I haven't been to this location in over 10 years. We were seated quickly as the restaurant was half full. We placed our order and it took over 30 minutes to get our food I know this as a thunderstorm happened 5 minutes after we ordered and another occurred before we go the food. ( 30 minutes timer between thunderstorms). Our waiter was friendly but when I asked for extra napkins they said ok and came back with a bottle of ketchup and walked away. Son asked for their steak to be cooked medium half was medium other half was medium rare ( see pic). My meal was good. But definitely not worth the $90 I spent (including tip). read more

Today I went to rainforest cafe with two of my friends. Ryan was a polite, great server who was incredibly patient as we decided was to eat. The shrimp scampi side was great. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Totally fun with the theme. A little costly, but worth the dollars. read more

This is a great place to take young kids, they really enjoy the setting, the animatronic animals, and the plethora of other animals adorning the walls and ceilings. They also like the cacophony of jungle sounds and the Atlas waterfall toward the back of the dining area. It's surely a stimulating and entertaining environment for them. The food is just okay, and lot of it is fried. That said, the ribs were good and the steak was cooked correctly, but tough and chewy. However, if you're not dining with younger children, don't come here! I'd probably give this place 3.5 stars, but the kids had such a great time, I'm rounding up to 4 stars. read more

Rainforest Cafe is a super fun and special experience for kids! We came for lunch on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Service was super quick, attentive, and friendly! There is an extensive kids meal where you can pick a main dish with kid friendly items like sliders, hot dogs, Mac & cheese, nuggets & more, a side, and a drink (milk or apple juice) that comes in a cute takeaway cup. You can also pay $13 for a nicer souvenir cup with a slushee too but we opted not to. We ordered the kids grilled chicken which came with beans & rice and fresh fruit (orange and apple slices), and 2 kid sliders. For the adults we got the blackened fish tacos and the iggy piggy, which is their version of a Cuban. The tacos were very good, but the beans that came on the side were bland. The sandwich was also delicious but the fries were mediocre. Only negative thing is it is expensive for lunch - would love if they had a lunch special. Overall, would recommend, but only if you are bringing kids! The decor and the thunderstorms made it worth it as an overall experience. Keep in mind that you have to walk through the gift shop to get to the restaurant though which is a little rough with kids, but their souvenirs are pretty reasonably priced and there are some nice cheap options like personalized keychains for $5 and stuffed bird animals for $10. Sweet, sweet nostalgia! The Rainforest Cafe is just as magical as I remember it. The smell of the fountain, the tray of colorful stones in the gift shop, and of course the periodic thunderstorms! My hubbers took me here along with our kids for Mother's Day. Our kids seemed to like it. There's a lot of stimulation and things to look at. You definitely feel like you're walking into something (chaotic that is, lol). We were quickly seated which was great. Now, our waitress was very nice. But was hardly ever seen and took too long for everything. It took her awhile to come to our table, the food took so long, and asking for the check!! Lord, are you guys making the paper in the back and writing out the receipts by hand?! I had to get the managers attention to hurry up and get our meal paid. My husband got steak, I got coconut shrimp, and we ordered 2 pizzas for the kids. We orders the artichoke dip with chips. Just a suggestion Rainforest, you may want to change up that oil you fry your chips in or buy from someone else. The chips tasted burnt and had a bitter taste. My kids spit it out. The kids meals came out 1st, mind you my kids are slow eaters. By the time our food came out, they were pretty much done. Thank god for snacks. If I didn't have any on hand they would have been freaking out. Husbands steak was super rare, he ate the outside of it. Honestly we have no time to be going back and forth with the kitchen having twins. And this place is super chaotic with kids running around and screaming. My shrimp was pretty good. I had burnt fries though and the sauce it came was not good at all!!! Very sweet, tasted like it came out of a box, and smelled funny. Overall, it was an experience for my kids. The spinach artichoke dip and chips were just as good as I remember them being as a kid. I ordered one of the 30th anniversary specials "islands in the stream salmon" and it was delicious. The glaze on the salmon was tasty, the jasmine rice was fluffy, and the vegetables (sauteed kale, corn, tomatoes, pickled onions) were delicious. Really light and flavorful dish. I honestly wish they had this on the main menu. The only thing I didn't like was that the tex mex style egg rolls and french fries that I tasted had an oily flavor that was a touch bitter. We're Minnesota natives and every time we'd walk by the Mall of America location, my kids would always stop and stare at the decorations so my husband and I did a cute little "save the date: something wild is coming" experience for part of their Christmas gift. We made a reservation for a Sunday lunch in January to keep our kids excited. The decor and ambiance truly captivated the hearts of my 5 and 3 year olds. My 11 year old said everything looked super cool and spent the entire time looking for animals hidden in the restaurant. There is greenery everywhere, big statues of animals and my kids could not stop talking about how awesome the place is. It gets loud (you hear elephants and thundering) so my 3 y/o got scared but it didn't take away from the experience. As always, we chose the Rainforest Cafe PRIMARILY for the experience and for a "core memory" for our boys. I had no big expectations for the food, but was pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was. My husband is hard to please, but he thoroughly enjoyed the Sirloin Stroganoff. I had the Blue Mountain Chicken Sandwich and it's a typical sandwich. Kiddos got the Rainforest Rascals (two mini cheeseburgers) and a cheese pizza. All meals kept the kids quiet and well fed until after we had left the restaurant. I ordered a strawberry mojito and it was really good! The splash of Sprite took me by surprise but I knew it came with it and it didn't disappoint! The kids are already begging to come back and we can't wait to bring them again. read more

We went with a big group for a birthday and 80% of the people were there when the table was ready. We were speaking our language and the host was so rude and didn't let us seat in our table. The rest of our friends arrived in less than a minute, and the host still with that rude face and tone in his voice. Very bad experience with staff. They have to remember that tourist pay their salary in Orlando, and they must treat everybody equally. The food was not great. The cake saved the night and also our friends. The place is not that awesome, actually is very old and need a renovation ASAP. Restrooms dirty. Extremely expensive for what they served and for the quality of the food. 9 people $582. With this amount for sure you can eat better food and be treat well in any other restaurant. And to finish the waitress spend more than 10min trying to sell a credit card. OMG! read more

I would love to see this place revamped. There is so much potential here, and kids love it, it could be so much better though! The children were happy with their dinosaur nuggets and sides, but none of the adults particularly loved their food. It's disappointing to spend at a restaurant and feel you could have had something better at home. The Rainforest Cafe has been around as long as I have, so I understand the deteriorating condition of some of the visuals, but I do think this place could do with some revamping. The service was friendly. All in all, the kids had a blast and that's really who you go for, so I can't give it under 3 stars. read more

The service here is VERY slow and NOT friendly, as soon as the waitress came to attend our party she had an attitude with any request - when did businesses forget that customer service can either make or break you?! We ordered food for the kids in our group and adults, an hour after ordering the kids food came and the drinks - but after another hour we were still waiting on the rest of the food and drinks! Our waitress never came to check in on us or let us know how much longer for the food! We had to get the manager, who was NO HELP! So with the disrespect of having us there, thinking they'd still get our money, we ended up paying for the kids food and leaving to eat at the food court! Service at the bar was incredible, I honestly was just going to sit there to eat instead of waiting since we already for drinks. However, once seated our food took well over an hour- just for the appetizer. The dessert was COLD when the menu said WARM. Disappointed. Wasted so much time with no communication. To top it off our drink came with an extra surprise- a plastic lid from the drink top was just mixed in at the bottom....pretty disgusting. We went to lunch at this place adjacent to the upscale Menlo Park Mall. It's been a long time since the last time I went dining here. Nothings change. Same decor, but I noticed that there's no more tropical fish in those two big empty tube aquariums. Maybe they all died? I ordered their Rainforest Hamburger and my wife ordered Fish and Chips. The food is good freshly made. This place is empty during Thursday lunch, few tables we're occupied by families celebrating birthdays. I never came here as a kid so dining in a bit older Makes me question why families always dine here. The food prices are atrocious considering their food is flat out plain and bland. Barely any seasoning and the only thing on my mind was other restaurants that serve way better food minus the swinging monkeys and loud robot elephants. Very kid friendly location. Located in Menlo mall, it's a bit hidden away. You'll know the sounds by the rainforest soundtrack that plays in the background. I came from my daughters's birthday and we were seated immediately. The menu is very family and kid friendly and my daughter. Ashley ate everything that was given to her. I will say it does tend to get loud, and the food is a little bit expensive but it is tasty. The service was pretty good. The staff was very friendly. I'm not going to lie, I went in here totally expecting this place to suck ass. However, I had a youngling to entertain and given the general dearth of theme restaurants in the general vicinity of where I happen to be right now, I opted to make a schlep to see how he'd react to some corny animated elephant statues in a dark, unsettling environment. Well ... the kid was entertained and I was also not bummed out about the food. In fact, the chicken fried chicken I had was surprisingly okay. The chicken was actually really well fried and nice and crispy. The gravy I soaked the chicken in wasn't bad either. The kid's grilled chicken was also prepared nicely and no worse than any other chain restaurants. It was definitely better than Chili's! The one thing going against this place was the service. The server was nice whenever I saw her on rare occasions. However, when I sat down, it was at least a good 15 or 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order. Since this is a kid-oriented family joint, you'd think they would know better than to leave young children hanging w/o at least some drinks, or at least get here quickly to take the kid's order quickly ... knowing how restless young children can be. Honestly, this place felt kind of sad the second I walked in. Even though it had just opened, the whole place felt dead. Nobody was in the gift shop when I was walking around, nobody was at the bar and no servers really were in sight inside. It was after I loitered around a bit in the gift shop before someone came to ask if I wanted to sit down. Turns out there was already a family in before me but it still took forever for anyone to come and take our order. I wouldn't come here again, to be honest. It's really not worth the long drive just to chase some nostalgia. Unfortunately, the younglings of today won't get why this chain was once popular like 10-20 years ago based on the tepid service. We visited the Rainforest Cafe on March 16th, as we arrived I asked the person worming up front how long of a wait it would be. It was a good 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged, to then being told there was no wait. We are seated, take a bit to decide what we are ordering, and it takes an hour before our food arrives. Someone notices at about 45 minutes and says your food should be out soon. This huge delay is surprising as I'm here with my two kids, but also the place is filled with kids, and you would assume since it's a kid friendly restaurant, the food wouldn't take so long to come out. All of the shrimp were overcooked. My one daughter asked for her steak to be medium rare, the steak comes out medium well. My other daughter asked for her burger to be medium rare, that comes out medium well to well done also. I nicely explain to the waiter who sends over the manager. He was apologetic and offered to get a new steak, however we had already waited an hour and did not want to wait another hour for another steak, he suggests a dessert, and we accepted. The dessert was truly delicious and the 3 of us did enjoy that, although for some reason we all expected that it came out with sparklers. The drinks were fun and pretty. The restaurant is a nice novelty with the animals and sounds, but it is quite loud in there. We won't be going back. read more

We recently went and we can't have any complaints about the service or the food. I had the fish tacos and my boyfriend had the pastalaya, we both thought that they were good. If you're basing this review off of solely those categories, I would say it's five stars. I used to come here since I was a little kid, and I definitely think it was a better experience then. This was my boyfriend's first time at the rainforest Café, and I knew it wouldn't be the same experience as when I was a kid, but it made me a little nostalgic. I hope they can bring the fish back and are able to make all features work again. I would come back again though. read more

As you probably know, Rainforest Cafe is really targeted towards kids. Don't come here expecting great food or great prices. Its a fairly limited menu, okay quality food, and most items are in the $20s-$30s range. However the restaurant itself has some cool decorations that would appeal to toddler age kids. Note that very young kids may get scared by some of the effects. The kids menu seemed fairly reasonable. My younger one had some fried shrimp, mac and cheese and a drink for under $10. I do appreciate that the healthier sides were displayed prominently on the menu, while the fries and mac and cheese were mentioned in small print (unfortunately the little guy saw it). read more

It definitely didn't ease my spirit when this was my daughter's only choice for her birthday dinner.. that along with my friend telling me to steer clear.. But, I was all in, and thankfully, it ended up being a very decent experience. We were promptly seated even though the whole party wasn't there, which was a very thoughtful exception. Seating was in a good place, near the elephant that my daughter wanted to be near lol. The tables and chairs were a little mismatched and rickety but I guess they put a number together for our size party. Service was very pleasant (thank you to the manager for being so attentive, helpful, and accommodating when one person in our party didn't show up) but it did take a long time to get some of our meals.. that significantly extended our time there which made us all a little anxious. But, we all enjoyed the spinach dip apps.. the fried shrimp was tasty.. and I enjoyed their version of Rasta Pasta. Portions were nice.. drinks were a little underwhelming, but its Rainforest Cafe.. if you have to drink, stick to wine or bubbly. I went with my family on Mother's Day with the earliest reservation. The service is not the best. The waitress before taking our order mentioned something about an alcohol rule that was not very clear, they also did not have all of the character souvenir cups, they only had 2 (frog and cheetah). They also did not have any of the regular souvenir glasses as well. The food was great the pasta and seafood dishes were very tasty we had the pastalaya, the anaconda and the salmon dish. The volcano dessert is very good highly recommend of you are a party of at least 3 - 4. It makes me really sad there aren't many rainforest cafes left. My parents used to bring me here 15-20 years ago as a kid. I loved it. Decided to come back today really just for nostalgia. I knew the prices would be expensive and the food would be Applebee's level but I was excited to see it as an adult. The place has gone downhill and I feel bad for the new generation of kids who will never know Rainforest Cafe in its prime. The gift shop is bare bones and nearly empty. They used to sell Rainforest Cafe character stuffed animals but now they're just selling random, cheap stuffed animals not affiliated with the brand. Most of the items being sold here are not affiliated with the brand at all. The gift shop used to be an attraction but now it feels like an afterthought. The entryway fish tank has had the real fish removed. The other fish tanks in the restaurant have been removed. There are no more live fish in the restaurant at all. They probably don't want to pay the maintenance and upkeep of these. Also the waterfall is turned off. The restaurant was nearly empty on a holiday weekend which was drastically different from the 2 hour waits they used to have when I was a kid. In an empty restaurant and during a pandemic, they still managed to seat a family directly next to us in a tight space. We were so close to them that our seats would touch when we would get up from the table. The rest of the restaurant was wide open and it was pretty annoying to be sitting so close to another group. Because there was 0 reason for this. The appetizers took too long to come out but they were hot. The entrees came out 10 minutes after the appetizers so the timing was off there. Food wasn't anything special as I expected. Sad to see this fun concept for children treated as an afterthought by the parent company (is it still Landry's?) Brough a few (13) people here for my daughters 4 th birthday after party Party. My daughter has always loved this place and I have to say secretly I like it also. First would like to give a special thanks to our waiter who took care of 13 people with ease. NEWMINN you are a god send. He truely made this experience happier than I could have ever hoped for. The drinks were full never lacked , food was on point and my daughter got the special treatment. NEWMINN made sure she was the princess of the dinner. I can't stress enough how much he made our dinner a memorable one. I would also like to thank Sanjay and Carla the managers for their service and hospitality also. While shopping around the Menlo Park Mall, my girlfriend and I decided to stop here for some lunch. We checked out the gift shop area first before getting a table. They had lots of cool items to purchase. Once we were seated, we admired the nice setup of this restaurant. It is very kid friendly, and I can see why kids would love this place. Lots of kids were also eating here while we were visiting. Now for the food. I would say everything we ordered was average. No complaints at all, as everything tasted good. Just nothing stood out. We ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger and the spicy pastalaya. We split both items , so we were both able to try them both out. I enjoyed the burger more of the 2 items, but the pasta dish was a different item that I normally wouldn't order out, so I figured I would try this one, too. Overall, we had a nice lunch. I would say this is more of a family restaurant (or a place to bring kids, too). For just me and my girlfriend, we are glad to have tried it. Rainforest was my kids favorite place here in Boston, then it closed down & the world had ended for them. One random trip in NJ last year I stopped into the mall for something and was in Vera Bradley and the kids were being typical Boys & running around like crazy... Then the woman working said " Want some free Rainforest coupons" To which I was like WHAT?! Rainforest, WHAT?! I had been coming to this area for years to visit and do things & NEVER knew Rainforest was here... so we walked through the mall and once we got close the kids saw it & LOST THEIR MINDS... That was 1.5 years ago and we have been back WAY too many times since then, almost planning trips around them being able to come to Rainforest, we are 6 Flags G.A season ticket holders as well, so we come down & make a day of it all the time. Food is ok, slightly overpriced for what you get. The menu has much selection, I just wish there were more things, considering we come often I just feel like the menu is often the same. The kids love their Nuggets and things so that works for me. Im a member of Landry's Select as well, so the Mgr always comes over to say Hello and Check in, I feel like we are old friends now as he seems to remember us every time! The drinks are from the menu and they are all fruity & tropical*ish. There is a bar and they can often just do other plain drinks which helps. The store out front is surprisingly affordable, you would think it be highly overpriced, but it isn't. Parking is great, because its the mall!!! Will def be back next trip! read more
