Rumble In The Jungle Turkey Wrap

The Rainforest Cafe in Galveston didn't disappoint! We were part of a large group, but the staff treated us with the same attention and care you'd expect as a much smaller party. The experience was exactly what we were hoping for, an adventure-filled outing that the whole family enjoyed. It had been several years since our last visit, and the food was actually better than we remembered. Everyone found something they enjoyed, and the meals exceeded our expectations. The ride was also a big hit with the kids and added to the fun atmosphere. The only thing that wasn't quite as impressive as we remembered was the erupting volcano outside. Over the years, some of the fire features appear to have stopped working, so the dramatic effect isn't quite what it once was. Even so, it was still fun to watch and remains an iconic part of the experience. Overall, we had a great time and left with happy memories. Rainforest Cafe continues to be a fun, family-friendly destination that's worth the visit.

Food was good, service was fast and friendly. Fun atmosphere with all the jungle animals. We were visiting Houston when we saw that there was a Rainforest Cafe and drove specifically so we could experience a Texas Rainforest Cafe. Miss the one in San Francisco by us. This one had an added atteaction with a river ride.

Rainforest Cafe, the atmosphere was fun and entertaining but the food was disappointing and highly overpriced. The appeal is definitely geared towards kids. They make it fun and exciting with all the animals and animal sounds. Some animals hang from the trees and even move every now and then. The lights dim low periodically and it can feel like you're in a rainforest with the rumbling sound of thunder. Fun and enjoyable for the kids. A cool place for birthday parties as well. We took our kids and celebrated their birthdays at the Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs in Florida and were satisfied with the experience. But if you're planning on going to have dinner with your adult children, it's not as exciting nor entertaining. Their menu doesn't only cater to kids, they have an extensive menu that adults can enjoy. For what we ordered and paid for, I wouldn't go back just to have dinner.

While this is a childhood favorite for many because of the rainforest atmosphere, animatronic animals, and the river ride, I was curious how the food actually compares. My friends and I decided to stop by for lunch while we were in Galveston and made a reservation for around 11 am. When we arrived, it was nearly empty, so we were seated right away, and our waitress was very friendly. Going in with low expectations, I ordered the Fish-N-Chips for $25.29 and was surprised by the portion size. The plate came with three very large pieces of fish, each nearly the length of the plate. I could only finish about one and a half pieces. While they were a bit greasy, they were also very crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The malt vinegar on the table helped balance out the oiliness. The coconut curry tropical slaw was a nice addition and added a bit of brightness, though I wish there had been more of it. The fries were decent and nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, the food exceeded my expectations for a place that is more known for its theme than its menu. While it is not somewhere I would go specifically for the food, the generous portions and solid execution make it a worthwhile part of the overall experience if you are already there for the atmosphere.

I love bringing my grand babies to the Rainforest when they come to visit. The smiles on their faces and wonder in their eyes make the absorbent prices of the food worth it. While the price is a little high for average food (in my opinion), the service is always impeccable. And of course, the ambiance is perfect for nana/grandbaby dates, especially if you take them on the little water ride.

We stopped in and got drinks while on our walk and the server at the Lava Bar was beyond awesome. She matched our vibe and made all of our drinks to perfection. We will definitely be stopping back in later for another!

Why 3 stars? Because it's exactly what I expected it would be. --- --- --- My favorite part of vacation is trying the great eateries of the area I'm staying in. And while staying in Galveston for a few days, we were checking some really enjoyable places off the list. But while I was walking along the beach one morning, my wife texted me these fateful words: "Just warning you: the kids want to go to Rainforest Cafe tonight and we are making plans to do that." My heart sank. Wasting perfectly good calories on a tourist trap? Pain. So much pain. But because I'm such a great husband, uncle, brother-in-law and son-in-law, I obliged. This self-less act led me to a lengthy debate of the menu options. Should I just do the unthinkable and get a salad since I know I won't be missing anything with the rest of the menu? Should I get something seafood-y while I'm at the beach? Should I eat nothing at all? While I considered all of the above, I ultimately got the BBQ bacon burger. And it was precisely of the 3-star variety. It was completely fine - not horrible, not remarkable. The reason to come here is obviously the unique atmosphere for the kids, not the food itself. But even in knowing that, it still hurt.

We met family from Louisiana going on a cruise the next day, we are from Houston. We brought our autistic son with us, sometimes dinning and conversation is hard when he needs a lot to keep his attention. Well this place has a lot to keep his attention, and everyone's food was delicious. With the thunderstorms every 30 minutes to the moving snakes, monkeys and breeze blowing through the leaves it kept him occupied. As a family we had the coconut shrimp, the chicken and pasta, hamburger and fries, appetizer plate and fish and chips. We had no complaints!

This restaurant was chosen strictly for the ambiance. I didn't expect to be wowed by the food, (as we're paying for the ambiance), so we stuck to the basics and ordered Caribbean coconut fried shrimp and fish tacos. Although they had a "Taste the Tropics" menu featuring "Aloha" salmon & shrimp, and even a poke bowl, I'm definitely not trusting their version to be up to my standards. To be fair, a mainland poke bowl at a chain restaurant is different from an authentic Hawai'i poke bowl. We also ordered a fusion margarita and the sparkling volcano. Bottom line: Great ambiance, standard food There's 21 photos that should be posted with this review.

Food was great, service was amazing, we sat in the bar area due to a 1 hr 45 wait time (i know!!) and we honestly loved it!! We got to sit down and order and hangout it wasn't super loud or anything. Again, food was really good!

So first of all, I would recommend making a reservation. We did wait for 45 minutes for a table of six . We sat down after that service was OK. I wouldn't say it was the best. They were really busy on a Sunday. We did wait a while for our food to get to the table . And of course, the check took a while too. The food on the other hand wasn't bad. I had the pasta laya it had sausage, chicken and shrimp. It's like a New Orleans type pasta kind of has a kick to it .

I made a reservation here for 6:30pm as my son and I were staying a day in Galveston prior to leaving for a cruise. I learned of the cafe through IG and looked so cool - I gotta admit I was sorta nervous as the reviews aren't too great but we had a fantastic experience! It was also only a 20 min walk from our airbnb and I needed exercise. We were seated promptly at our time, the tables are spacious/roomy and our waiter Tony was THE best - gave a lot of history and suggestions for the area. The decor is really cool and detailed - we walked around to see it all. They have an artist to draw your photo, a shop and so much extra - we did dinner and the ride (they say it's the only rainforest cafe with a ride). I had the local Galveston wheat beer (forget the name - similar to blue moon yummy) and coconut shrimp (delicious - ask for the jalapeño sauce for the rice helps add flavor). My son had a chicken sandwich and fries (I forget name of sandwich but he loved it). The ride was a lot of fun (9.99/pp) and longer than I expected it to be - definitely recommend, nice touch.

Surprisingly good food. Recommend the 2 dishes we got. Not cheap but large portions. Caribbean coconut fried shrimp $26.49 - 8 large shrimp. Good flavor, fried well, not greasy. Good rice and veggies. Island rice, seasonal vegetables, coconut curry tropical slaw Blackened fish tacos $21.49 - 3 large tacos. A bit spicy. The rice was good (coconut flavor?) Jalapeño ranch, red cabbage, citrus vinaigrette, pico de gallo, black beans, Jasmine rice . Plenty of parking in a lot. Not too far from Moody Gardens Hotel. Good service.

I love the concept and idea of a safe place for cats and us being able to play with them so we decided to take time out of our morning to check this place out. The cats were friendly, mainly sleeping but it was well maintained and looked like a clean and safe environment for the cats. The reason for my low review is due to the way the business is handling a refund which I thought would be simple and is based on a confusion with their staff members. Online, it states a reservation needs to be made so while reading the rules, we made a reservation. I signed the waiver for myself and my 2 kids and walked in first. I saw they had a 30% military discount and asked if I could get a refund and repurchase. I was told she couldn't refund but since it didn't apply online, I would be able to email them and request for the difference back. Ok, no big deal. I paid for the second adult in store since now I know, we get military discount. Fast forward, I email and they refuse to give a refund. They said online, they can't verify that we qualify for the discount which is why we can only get the discount in store. I find it extremely rude for them to continue to emphasize that discounts are not applicable to online reservation since their system can't verify it when they could just simply ask for us to send through email our ID to get the price difference back like many other businesses would. I could also send the receipt showing where they did already verify us in store and where the discount is applied in store. The employee told me I would be able to request a refund and if I can prove my eligibility, I feel like they should honor it. They did offer a complimentary visit but again, I'm from Dallas so with this bad experience, I'm not enticed to return or recommend this place.

You first walk in and it is a small sitting area to switch your shoes (strange for those that don't have an Asian upbringing). It's a Korean company, and I think the front desk girl said something about it being the first of this specific company in Houston?? Anyways-- after you switch your shoes, you go inside and pay, like $20/hour to go hang out with all of these adoptable cats! If you are a first responder/teacher/student there is a small discount! You get 1 canned/bottled drink from the fridge and you get a few handfuls of freeze dried chicken to give to the kitty cats. All of their bios are on the walls, just read their collars or ask the front desk girl. TBH This was a well spent $20 for something. All proceeds go to the supplies for the care of these beautiful babies. There were like,20 something cats, but the space is big enough and they have a lot of those robot self cleaning kitty litter boxes so it does not smell strongly of cats at all! There are plenty of board games and books to read, there are plenty of places to sit and outlets for your phone or laptop. I fell in love with one cat named, "Rome" but I was unprepared to take him home to Dallas. TBH the only thing I didn't really care for was asking the front desk girl about anything-- it seemed like I was bothering her.

Parking was easy but, you do have to pay. As soon as I opened the door, it was pink everywhere! The ticket included $10 towards the meal, so I ordered a burger with fries. Not bad! I thought maybe they'd add a hint of pink to the food for the full Barbie experience, but I guess a burger fits the beach vibe too. Overall, the cafe is mostly about the aesthetics, with everything decked out in pink, but not a lot of interactive elements. I loved seeing the little girls skating around with their parents.
