Unfortunately, in 2 words: shit show! The chicken was good, hot, crispy. But the ambience inside the restaurant was unbelievably poor. There were at least six tables that had employees sitting at them, 1 booth had at least 6 employees sitting in it on their phones. There were numerous dirty tables, in fact, we had to clean ours before we could sit at it. There were people standing behind the counter, drinking and leaving their cups on the counter, An employee who is in uniform, came in carrying a McDonald's bag of food and sat down at a table to eat while another employee in uniform had gone out to various places along the parking lot to grab food and bring back for employees who were clearly working. The employees were loud and boisterous and the screaming of a persons name over the PA system was just too much. You couldn't tell who the managers were. There were so many different T-shirts on black ones, red ones, I want to say maybe orange. But you don't know who's in charge and it looks like clearly nobody has it under control. I met up with a friend as he was finishing up with work at the FedEx store and he religiously goes there twice a week since it's his last stop. I've worked in customer service especially in the restaurant industry and the service really was disappointing. There was an employee that was finishing up an order, we stood there for a good moment without being acknowledged by anyone. We weren't greeted or told "I'll be right with you." Thank you to the young lady who came outside to check on me today. I wish I had gotten her name, but it was around 2 pm on Saturday, July 13, & she was a beautiful tall African American. I first ordered through drive through then I went in to use the restroom & I was rushing & when I opened the door so fast...I stubbed my toes! Ouch! Don't rush when you have sandals I am now learning to not do. Anyway, she asked if I was okay and even offered me a band aide. She was the kindest! That meant so much to me. Ordered $150 tailgate order and was not given all the items in the order and when I called to see what could remedy the situation I was told I can come pick up the items as if that wasn't an inconvenience and when I rejected that and requested to be put in contact with managers they said the treasury department would contact me which never did. Cindy and Saiz were the supposed managers on duty who failed to assist. We'd been long time customers so for simple combos they're ok but don't even have them do a party order for you, not worth the money at all and they don't even attempt to correct their errors. Was pretty stoked to see Raising Cane's hit Monrovia (as I've heard a lot about it ...) I've been a handful of times now, and here are my initial observations: - Possibly the most organized / well thought out drive thru I've ever seen? (I mean, I usually just eat there on their nice patio, but it's worth calling out) - When you walk in, you're greeted when you enter -- the place is immaculate, really nice restrooms ... - Shout out to Yoldena - she's always nice and helpful, and remembered me (and my name) like only the second time I was there! - First thing you should note about the food: the menu is very small, and that's by design. It's intentional, just like how In N' Out really only offers a handful of items. This franchise has a similar level of focus. - With that said, if you love fried chicken, you've gotta give this place a shot. It's (hand down) the most tender, hot and juicy chicken strips I've ever had ... and it's probably the freshest fried chicken (I think in general, strip or no strip) I've ever had. It literally tastes like it just came right out of the fryer. It's delicious. - So honestly I was a bit hesitant to try out Cane's because I'm trying to "watch my calories these days" ... Here's the thing: if you forgo the toast and the fries (insert sad trombone here), you can still make a great hearty meal with chicken strips and the Cole slaw and it's low in calories. That's what I do for lunch, and now it's my go-to when I need something quick (and something that tastes indulgent). I do the strips with the Louisiana hot sauce (also low in calories), and alternate with ketchup. They give you a tiny portion of this sauce then charge you for an extra if you beg for it. Service was friendly. The cashier that attended to me was very nice. The music is a little loud but no big deal. Restrooms are very clean. The food portions are quite small compared to other canes locations I've been to. I always order the naked chicken tenders. The ones here are so tiny, maybe the size of a chicken nugget and they only give you a handful of fries. They were also missing items from my order and had I not checked prior to leaving I would not have received those items. They were very nice about it though. Overall, $13 for 3 tiny pieces of chicken and a handful of fries and toast is not worth it. It's also been my experience at other canes to get one extra tender when I order the naked bird tenders. This was my go to restaurant every Wednesday and Friday and I mean EVERY WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY. I currently work for FedEx and I have a late pick up at the Fed ex office in the same plaza that doesn't close till 6. I usually wrap it up quickly and head straight to Canes. When I first started eating at this restaurant it was great. Food was great and it filled me up, along with great food great service used to come alongside with it. As months went by the service and food started to fall off. I always used to get to box combo and that was very satiating but now the chicken, as well as the fries are starting to come in smaller portions so now I leave feeling very dissatisfied. Then on top of not feeling satisfied with the food the service has also gotten worse. They used to be so friendly and quick and few cashiers actually started to remember my order as well as my name because as I mentioned earlier I go religiously because it's such an easy meal. This past Wednesday my friend and I stood in line for about 3-5 minutes with no acknowledgment of any sort. After getting irritated with being the only two in line waiting to be tended to we left to chick fil a where were promptly served and taken care of. My youngest son refused to eat his food because "it tasted weird". I don't see what the hype of this place is but we will never eat there again.
