The menu is simple. I love the sauce. Customer service is very amazing. And those disco balls. The atmosphere is great!

Slooooooooow - don't go unless you can sit in the drive thru for an hour and they're not even busy. This is why Chick-Fil-A rules.

You walk in and you choose your table and a nice waitress will bring your menus. We like the chicken strip basket which comes with two sides. Of our favorites are the fries, the collard greens, green beans, and mac and cheese. The chicken strips are very crispy, the meat is just a little dry but the flavor is great with even the mild level heat having nice heat. We also got the catfish which has a perfect crust and perfectly cooked inside. The baskets come with sauce and you get two per order. Probably more than you'll need. You get great food for an affordable price. Good Southern service. Just all around one of our faves.

We were told to seat ourselves and our menus would be brought to us. After a short wait, the bartender/server came to take our drink order and food order. We both ordered the mild heat chicken tender special (3 tenders and fries for $7). We also added a veggie plate so we could try the Mac and cheese and greens. Our food arrived after a few minutes. The tenders were cooked fresh and were piping hot when they arrived. The chicken was dusted with mild heat seasoning. Outside of that seasoning, they weren't seasoned with anything else. We both remarked that we've had better Nashville hot tenders and better tenders in general. The Mac and cheese was just okay but the greens were the star of the meal. They were flavorful, meaty and had just enough kick to keep things interesting. Good meal overall. I recommend that you try them out. We will return to try other menu items.

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.

Inside it's ani eclectic array of old license plates, dollar bills on the walls and overall fun to sweep your eyes around the room. The chicken is moist, flavorful and just plain delicious!! Highlight of the drive. For the first time, today was different. The very friendly young women who first greeted us and guided us through the menu years ago are gone. In their place are unfriendly young ladies who would far prefer to chat with each other than provide even acceptable-level service. We were tolerated, not welcomed or even checked on to see if we wanted anything. I waited and waited for her to notice me at about ten feet away as I waved my empty beer can in hopes of getting a second one. Finally I had to interrupt the conversation between the waitresses by raising my voice above their conversation, "excuse me, may I have another?" Again, we were there early today. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. We had to say "excuse me" and walk between then as they kept talking to each other. Never did they bother to say "thanks for coming, please come back soon." So maybe after all this time...we won't.

I was honestly pretty nervous about eating alone, but from the moment I walked in, the environment felt so comfortable and welcoming that it eased my anxiety quite a bit. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially my waitress, Sarah. She was so kind and made me feel completely comfortable, which meant a lot to me as someone eating alone for the first time. She truly made the whole experience that much better! And the food... WOW. The smash burger was delicious and cooked perfectly -- although it was definitely a little messy, so consider yourself warned haha. The mozzarella sticks had an AMAZING cheese pull, and the sauce was absolutely divine. And then there was dessert. Let's just say it was probably meant to feed two people... but I ate the entire thing by myself because it was THAT good.
