My son, however, is another story, he's completely obsessed, as are all of his friends, so we'll definitely be back! What earned this review is the exceptional customer service. We recently ordered food for a work event, and the gentleman assisting us was absolutely amazing. I wish I could remember his name because he deserves recognition. Raising Canes is a solid option for us chicken strip fans and the newer location in Oxnard is much welcomed in this community. I've been to this raising canes a few times now since they opened and feel like I can leave a fair review. I've dined both inside and through the drive thru. Both are great means to fill your chicken strip craving. Being a huge chicken strip connoisseur I would rate raising canes as a 3.5/5. Let me example. The biggest plus is its white meat chicken. Very generous on the tender size and juicy, flavorful chicken. My biggest critique is the batter had be hit or miss. Wish these tenders had a little more batter to be honest. Some days the chicken is crispy and that ups it to a 4/5. But most days, and like today, while the chicken was hot, the batter was a bit soggy. Not enough crunch or good breading consistency for me. The fries and coleslaw are fine. Average and hit the spot. I do like the canes sauce. Just a little pricey at .45 each. I was surprised with a four box tender, only one sauce provided. What I do love about this location and what helped me get to 4 stars is that the staff here are super friendly and sweet. Everyone that works here is nice and always good vibes. Inside and through the drive thru there is good hospitality and service. I appreciate that even when the lines get long they keep it moving. On a brisk Spring Monday night on the 17th of March, I stumbled into Raisin' Canes at around 10:12 PST at the Oxnard location. Much to my delight, it was the FIRST time there were no lines! I found ample parking around the establishment. As I made my way to the front of the desk, a polite and friendly cashier by the name of ANNA greeted me with joy. She eagerly took my order which consisted of the "The Sandwich Combo" plus an extra side of "Chicken Finger." I also ordered the green leprechaun-themed lemonade drink which was what I really went for. I commented how this was my first time seeing no lines, to which she said that usually, people come in waves with a smile. My order came out fast, with Anna handing my order with the utmost professionalism. She then proceeded to clean the windows of the establishment's glass doors as I left. Unfortunately, much to my demise, as I placed the lemonade drink on the roof of my door as I was opening, a sudden gust of wind toppled it over the side of my car. Since it was windy, it also opened the doors of the establishment as I approached it, much to Anna's surprise. Upon notifying her of the sad situation, she immediately made another drink for me with a smile, while apologizing many times, even though I told her it was not her fault. She wasn't even there when the wind blew. The food itself was delicious. Raisin' Canes, what do you expect? The buttered bread buns and chicken fingers combined with lettuce and sauce made for an especially delectable synergy on your palate. The fries were delicious dipped in ketchup combined with the vinegar hot sauce. The green lemonade, which I was really going for, was, unfortunately, a bit watery and diluted -- compared to another place I went a few days earlier in Carson. However, I wanted to say that Anna should be recognized by the company for her commitment to customer service, going above and beyond in terms of interactions with customers, and providing exceptional service! First time having Raising Cane's food. Dear Hubby and I have tried a few other up-and-coming chicken places the past couple of years. None has hit my taste buds and taken them to a happy place like Raising Cane's. Unfortunately, there isn't one closer to us. DH had been in Oxnard on errands, and noticed this location. He ordered a big box and brought it home to share. I had only had a small breakfast many hours ago, so I was hungry. We could have used two more chicken fingers and some more fries to make this worthy of a true 50/50 split. The chicken "fingers" aka strips are made of fresh, juicy, plump chicken breast. The batter for the coating reminds me of buttermilk style. It's beautifully golden and adds its own flavor. The original dipping sauce is just right. The savory tang adds just enough bonus taste to amp up the chicken. Crinkle-cut fries and a mild Cole slaw round out the box, along with a piece of well-prepared Texas toast. There wasn't one of the items that I thought needed any significant improvement. Everything was just right. That's pretty good for "fast food", or fast casual. I wasn't with DH to see the physical location. My daughter's school was having. A "Senior" fundraisers at this Cane's location, so we decided to have a have our family dinner inside the restaurant. Many kudos to "Raising Cane's" for being a fundraising option for high schools (and other organizations). I certainly wouldn't have tried them without this situation. It was a new experience all of us having Cane's we loved our respective meals. My wife and I thought the chicken was tender and juicy...the cane sauce great for dipping their crunch fries. My oldest daughter, whose school was having the fundraiser, had the added benefit of seeing her friends while having her meal. The little one loved the chicken fingers and couldn't get enough cane's sauce with fries. The service wasn't too bad; there is a kiosk order option but we went to the counter so she could prove she was part of the senior class. The food came fairly quickly. Overall the restaurant has tables, booths and individual bar stool seating/dining. Also the space is spacious bright and stylish...it doesn't look like any other fast food restaurant. Previous to this experience Cane's wasn't on my radar....I'd more likely go to the Chick-fil-a across the street but now that I know something about what they offer and the goodness of the food; a crunch, tender, juicy 3 chicken finger sandwich, fries and a drink. I'd be hard pressed to pass them by! I came here with my friends, and the service was terrible. The workers were very, very rude and I didn't even get what I ordered. They did it completely wrong and can't stand the service. Also there was a hair in my food obviously from the girl that wouldn't give her name when I confronted her. She had long brownish black hair and she had it down under her hat. I asked them about it and they said that it wasn't ready yet and I went up again 10 minutes later and they said that they forgot about it. So they had to make my order 40 minutes prior to me, placing it. When she gave us our food, she forgot our drink cup, and then forgot that we got no coleslaw and extra toast. Get the Cane's sauce! Idk what's in it but it makes everything taste better. It's tangy & has a light kick to it. I dip the chicken, crinkle cut fries & Texas Toast in Cane's sauce. I don't mind paying extra for more... Try their fresh brewed sweet tea & hand squeezed lemonade. I don't like my drinks overly sweet so I like to do 1/2 sweet & 1/2 unsweetened for a good balance. Fyi they are open late for those late night munchies! Parking is kind of limited Bec it's shared with a Chase Bank at The Rose shopping center & street traffic can be a pain... The drive thru is usually busy, it's a hit or miss. Not as insane as before with their 45+ min wait time. Inside the restaurant it can get busy during peak times. Finally tried Raising Cane's chicken and it was pretty good. Chicken is tender and not dry. I got some chicken pieces and fries. Everything was good. Not spectacular, but good. The toast that everyone talks about is like fluffy white-bread, pan-toasted with ... butter? cheese? I forget. Yeah it's tasty... but probably not why I'll come back. This was my first time trying this place and overall it did not disappoint. We arrived early to the event, wanted to avoid the lunch rush and it was a good thing too because I saw this place get flooded by 11:30!! The staff were very nice and the food was very tasty. Definitely better chicken than Chick-Fil-A, but then again I loathe that place anyways ;) The chicken itself was very well cooked while still maintaining a great level of juiciness, the bread was amazing but the surprise was really the coleslaw. I can't stand when places make coleslaw sweet and this place knows how to prepare a coleslaw with a great savory balance! I think my only gripe is that they don't have a variety of sauce or an option for spicy chicken. I quickly remedied that though by adding a couple of packets of hot sauce into their house sauce and problem was adverted. I had a box combo for just over ten bucks. Not a bad price really. The fingers tasted fresh but were a little bland. Their "secret sauce" spices things up nicely. The fries were okay, as was the cole slaw and Texas toast. The sweet tea was pretty darn good. The catch phrase is "One Love." Is this Chick-fil-A for the disenfranchised? Wonderful lunch today at Raising Canes! I forgot how delicious the chicken is. Tender white meat in a nice crunchy breading complimented with a mouthwatering dipping sauce. Oh yeah! My order taker and manager who helped with my order were delightful and wore their smiles proudly. My food came out fresh and hot. The chicken to me is the highlight but I am also a sucker for wrinkle cut fries. Honestly not a big fan of the Texas toast, but to each his own. The ambience and decor is very fun.
