I got a 10-piece of Dave's Bites with mild seasoning, added a side of mac and cheese, and a side of coleslaw. I used the chicken box as the base, dumped the mac and cheese on top, then the coleslaw, and finished it with Dave's sauce all over. It all comes together in one bite. Crispy chicken, creamy mac and cheese, and that cool crunch from the slaw with the sauce tying everything together. I always thought that I did not like DHC because it always tasted like burnt chilies and unbloomed spices but this time was different. I ordered the mild (instead of spicy or extra hot) chicken tenders and the flavor really good. It was well cooked and juicy. Although I enjoy the spice, the mild did not have any bitterness or bad aftertaste to it like the spicy version that I've had in the past. I also ordered the mozzarella and that was enjoyed by my group. The single tender sounded like a good deal so I added it but it was such a tiny piece compared to the size in the tender combo so that was not worth it (it's better to order another combo set with two) since it was half the size of the tender in the combo. This location is severely understaffed but the one person that was there, was very friendly and did what she could. The wait time was extend by 15 minutes but it was fine considering the lack of staffing. Clean restaurant and an overall good experience. Ample parking in a shared lot. read more

I went with my cousin and she said it was her all time favorite hot chicken spot, so I had high expectations, and Dave's delivered! The chicken was fried to perfection, super juicy and very flavorful! I also LOVED the sauce that comes with the fried chicken. I can't really handle my spices though, and found the Mild to be the perfect level of spice :') The medium was a bit too hot for me, so for any fellow Yelpers who can't handle their spice, I'd recommend going with the mild. My spice tolerance is very high; so I decided to try their spiciest level which was the "Reaper". Needless to say but no fault on their end; it was as spicy as I thought and even had to get some hot sauce. The meal as a whole was very good; chicken was very well seasoned and not dry. The food is good, but be prepared to wait at least half an hour for any order. As a result I really waver every time I crave it.

I went on a Weekday before closing to order a simple slider they told me there would be six minutes wait before the order can be prepared. I accepted because I was very hungry. They gave me a receipt after the payment. The cashier was rude and not speaking good English. I waited then they accepted another customer with a full order. Who came after me but got his order before me. But server gave my order to him. Because I heard the check no or order no. He got take out so did I. But I told the server and he ended up chasing that customer car and giving his order and I get mine. But they messed up my order and gave me French fries. Which I did not want because I am trying to lose weight. I told the server to fix it but the cashier lady we're closing you have to pick up and handle whatever you have. Which means inaccurate order and unacceptable. But I agreed. I also have done hundreds of orders for that store and they don't know what they're doing they treat you rudely. I ate the slider they did cook it without spice, pickles and coleslaw. French fries tasted terrible so I threw them to trash. We get Dave's pretty often and this last time was the worst time. We ordered the large Mac and Cheese Fries and it only came with half of the chicken it was supposed to come with and literally a spoonful of Mac n cheese. Dave's Hot Chicken is solid chicken for sure. It will definitely satisfy your craving for chicken without having to drive into the valley. Happy the 805 has this staple chicken spot now. Atmosphere is comfortable and very casual. Order at the counter and then find a seat. It does get busy so it can get a little crowded in there but they did have a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant was clean when we came by here and they had plenty of workers cleaning as they could. The girl at the cashier was friendly, no issues. The hot chicken here in my opinion is 4 stars. Tasty hot fresh chicken. I'm not as good with spice so I did a boring "mild" but I have to say it was a good flavor, the right amount of spice for me. The chicken was hearty and they don't skimp. It was the aioli like pink sauce that made it the perfect flavor for me. The fries were hot and fresh, tasty. Shortly after a line started to form when we were waiting for our to-go order and the line is so awkward that it wraps inside toward the dining area instead of out the door so people thought we were in line when we were just standing nearby the dining area waiting for out food. The menu is simple here where there's only 3 combos, sides and drinks. We ordered 2 Dave #2 combo (2 sliders with fries) and 1 Dave #3 combo (1 tender and 1 slider with fries). All sliders are served with kale slaw, pickles and Dave's sauce and cheese can be added for an extra cost. All tenders are served with sliced bread, pickles, and a side of Dave's sauce. Our total was $45. We ordered the medium spice level and it honestly tasted like a mild. Dave's sauce was disappointing because it tasted very plain like mayo and it didn't have a kick to it. I think we had high expectations for DHC since there's so much hype for hot chicken and this is a franchise that is growing. Dave's Hot Chicken location is about a week and a half old. I like to wait for new places to be open a couple months to work out the kinks of being newly open. I was pleasantly surprised. Food: the two chicken slider combo in mild is what we ordered. It was enough for me and my husband to share. The slider was filling, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The combo comes with two sliders and fries and pickles. We tried the Mac n cheese as well. And I was nothing to write home to mom about. I'll definitely pass on my next visit. I've been to another branch before, which tasted pretty similar to this one, so the 3 stars are about all of Dave's chicken rather than just this branch. Overall, I find the chicken way too salty for my liking. The chicken is juicy and tender, and the flavors are good (I usually get Hot), but it's so salty to the point that even the bread that they give you with the tenders isn't much help to offset it. I've tried the sandwich as well, which is a bit better. I've also gotten the Kale Salad and I would skip it - it's rather bland and doesn't give you the refreshing taste that you want from cole slaw. read more

I had never eaten at a Dave's Hot Chicken before and have noticed that they have numerous locations all over Southern California. So I decided to give it a try at this particular location. I ordered the Dave's #4, which is a slider with fries, pickles and a side of sauce. This goes for $9.95. They call it a slider, but I thought it was actually quite a substantial sandwich. They give you an opportunity to specify how hot you want your order to be, going all the way from "no spices" to "reaper", which is even hotter than "extra hot". So no need to worry about that issue. I ordered "mild", and I thought it was still fairly spicy, but good. Next time I might order it "lite mild", which is in between "mild" and "no spices." I placed an online order like I have a number of times. I had a noon pick-up time. When I arrived at 12:05, my order was not ready. I was told it would be ready shortly. Then they asked to see my confirmation and I showed her my email. I then waited 20 minutes while other orders came out. After 25 minutes I asked where my food was and the "manager" told me that it had never entered their system. I don't know how they could both be preparing my order and have no record of the order. It was unclear whether they were even working on my order and there was no apology -- just blame that they did not receive the order. I immediately cancelled the order and requested a refund. At first the manager refused to issue a refund but as I made a stink, she finally said she issued a refund (perhaps a lie -- we will find out). The waiver warned of potential bodily injury, including death. Ominous for chicken. But I ain't chicken. I signed it, wondering how much would really hold up in court if I stumbled to my car and puked up my guts on the way out, starting little fires on the way. While I waited for a tender that could kill me, I questioned my decision. If I was unable to finish the grocery shopping, my wife would not be amused, even if she was happy to cash the life insurance check. When it came, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles and bread for 1 tender? Nice. And comforting that support was available for death by spice. The first bite in, I knew I'd survive. Its hot, but I've had hotter in chilly and in small Guatemalan restaurant with a Diablo burrito that had off-menu sinister Diablo for the extra brave.
