3.5 star The catering service is on time. Both chicken dishes of Chicken Tikka Masala and Tandoori Chicken are dry and unimpressive for me. My favorite is their cauliflower dish, called Gobi Manturian, it's fried cauliflower mixed with bell peppers and onions, the flavors soaked in every bit of the dish and it's not spicy. Because there is a seasoning, the coating of the fried cauliflower absorbs the seasoning, so the dish is dry but not overly dry. This business runs blatantly misleading promotions and treats customers with shocking disrespect. I received a $15 gift coupon through a radio show. The email clearly stated: "You receive a $15 coupon" with valid dates and ID requirements -- no minimum spend mentioned anywhere. When I went in to redeem it, the owner was hostile from the second I walked through the door, as if I had done something wrong by expecting them to honor their own promotion. He actually said, "There is nothing like free money,"and demanded I spend $50 just to use the $15 coupon. When I asked where that condition was written, he immediately changed his story and offered "50% off instead," which still required me to spend $30 to get the same $15 benefit. That is classic bait-and-switch, no matter how you try to dress it up. Rather than taking responsibility, he told me to "check with the radio show team" and openly admitted this is his "business model." Legitimate businesses don't invent rules on the spot. If there are conditions, they are disclosed upfront -- not when a customer is already standing at the counter. The most disturbing part wasn't even the money -- it was the arrogant, dismissive, and condescending attitude. He looked genuinely shocked that someone actually came in to claim the reward and made it painfully clear he never intended for anyone to use it. His facial expression alone said it all: annoyance, disbelief, and contempt. He repeatedly insisted that "there is no free stuff," despite advertising exactly that. This place uses fake "free" offers to lure people in and then pressures them to spend more. That's not honest marketing, not customer service, and not how ethical businesses operate. I came here once to try their pastries, and they were good. I got the black forest and mango-flavored cakes along with a coconut bun. Each of the items tasted good. Intrigued by the vast range of items on their restaurant menu, I decided to stop by again. This time I ordered appam with fish curry and an egg puff. The items were a miss this time. Chicken Chettinadu Sandwich was flavorful and tasty, almost like they put chicken curry inside--and that was yum. I went here on a Saturday around 7pm and there was only about 5 other people at the restaurant at that time. There was no wait when we arrived and they allowed everyone to choose their own table since it wasn't busy at that time. Anyways, I was so excited to try this bakery place when I found out they have EGGLESS cakes! I've never tried an eggless cake before, so I was surprised by how moist and flavorful their cakes are. They also have a lot of different cakes to choose from here too and I actually ended up hearing people around me celebrate their birthday that day. Out of the cakes I tried that day, my favorite was the Butterscotch cake. I also tried the Rasmalai cake, but I wasn't a huge fan of that one since I'm not used to that type of flavor. I ordered an assortment (pictured) and we all thought they were delicious with the soft whipped cream (no cloying buttercream here!). The fruit flavors are subtle in the white cake but there are also pieces embedded in the cream layers. I also bought an "apple cake," which was a doughy ball spiced with chai flavors and filled with apple chunks. It looks like recipes add cocoa powder but I didn't really taste chocolate in this one, probably since it was covered by the strong spices. There were some Indian sweets in the case closest to the door but when I asked about them, the man helping me said they were 3-4 days old and seemed reluctant to sell them to me for that reason. I am writing to share a deeply disappointing and concerning experience with a cake I recently ordered from your bakery. Unfortunately, it was not just a matter of taste, but it led to physical discomfort that persisted for days. The cake arrived looking beautiful, but upon the first bite, the issues were immediate. We have been to their location probably 3-4 times now since they've opened. None of the times have been great. Their food is not very tasty, their staff isn't even well aware of what they serve. We have gone the few times because it's very close to us. But the worst of it all is that they overcharge for items. This has happened once to my husband and last night it happened to me too. Got a lime soda, which is 4.99 on their menu but the guy charged me 6.99 (7.6 something with tax). When I asked him about it, he first got defensive and told me it was tax which is bullshit. Then he handed me some sweet bread (kinda rudely) saying it was a mistake to make up for being called out for the overcharge. It's a simple lime soda, in what world, even the Bay Area is it 5 bucks that he's charging 7 bucks. Lol even Starbucks frappacinos don't cost that much. We had two of the items at a friend's house and liked it so much we picked some up here too. The place has other food and seating.
