More like 3.5 stars. We got a bunch of dishes to try and they were all mid to decent. Pav bhaji and vada pav was good. Other items we tried were bread pakora, dahi batata sev puri, pani puri and samosa chaat which were okish in my opinion. You order at the counter and they either bring the food to you or you can pick it up yourself depending on how rushed they are. Prices are standard for bay area. Place could do with a bit of cleaning.

Delhiwala Chaat is an excellent spot if you are looking for Indian street food like chat, samosas or authentic North Indian fare. I came here with a friend for pani puri and dahi puri around 3 pm and really enjoyed the fresh puris and the accompaniments. The service was quick and cordial, the parking spacious and the food was delicious. I noticed they had a full rack of Indian sweets which I will try out next time. The restaurant is a home converted to an eatery so the ambience is cozy. I like their outdoor seating quite a bit and will be back soon to enjoy other items with a cup of chai.

Great local spot for chaat! Definitely gets pretty busy at peak times so come earlier if you're a big group but generally pretty fast service. Would recommend!

One of my favorite spots to get chole bhature and pani puri. I have yet to try anything else here because the two dishes are amazingggg. Pretty casual interior with nice staff.

This is my favorite chaat place at the moment. Went 2x this week as I felt too lazy to cook in this warm weather (no a/c at home). Dahi sev puri has it all. Crispy yet delicate puri, stuffed with boiled potatoes and chickpeas. Yogurt and 2 types of chutney brings a mix of savory, tangy , sweet and bit of heat. This is my go to dish. This most recent visit I decided to live on the edge and try something different and got the bread pakoras. This was really delicious as well. Potato and peas curry between sliced bread which is dipped in a batter made of chickpeas flour and flash fried. This felt like less heavy version of samosa. It's also served with date and cilantro sauces on the side. Casual ambiance, plenty of seating both indoor and out, fair amount of parking but have definitely seen it fill up during peak hours.

An Indian cuisine fast food/street food restaurant. The order is to be placed at the counter. We were 4 adults and one kid, ordered a load of cold beverages - Salted Lassi, Sweet Lassi, Jal Jeera, Mango Lassi, Thumbs Up. Each one tasted well. Appetisers- Papdi Chaat, Dahi Batata Sev Puri, 2 sets of the Bread Pakoras - all were tasty. Entrée - A couple of sets of Chole Bhature, Aloo Paratha, Aloo Kachori, Chole Tikki. Aloo Kachori and Chole Tikki, did not taste great; also the chole were runny & not well prepared (wished they tasted better, as they were coupled with 3 of the main dishes ordered that day). Service was prompt, food was fresh and served hot. We may go back for a quick bite, when in the vicinity again.

I tried chole bature. Honestly the bature was just too oily. I understand what I ordered but you can't serve me bature when touched just feels messy and dropping oil. The papdi chat on the other hand was reasonably decent. Ambience is average.

Chole Bhature, Pav Bhaji, Paapdi chaat, sweet lassi and my dearest husband with his Thumbs up!

Absolutely loved my experience here! The food tasted incredibly authentic--every bite felt like a trip straight to the local streets of Delhi. From the perfectly spiced Chole Bhature (that came with a Mirch pickle- uff) to the rich, buttery Pav Bhaji, the refreshing Dahi Papdi Chaat (with exclusive Imli Ki chutney) , and the sweet, creamy lassi--everything was just spot on. What truly stood out was the super fast service and the high level of hygiene, which made the whole dining experience even better. The manager uncle from Punjabi Bagh- Delhi was the sweetest, and serving staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout. Just before I finish, it was raining today, the weather had a chilly breeze and their outdoor seating was a cherry on the top. Great food, great people, and great vibes--definitely coming back! Just wish they were a little more pocket friendly, and I'd literally be here everyday!

Came here today with some friends. I'm not too familiar with Indian food, but my friends took me here to experience it. I honestly had such a great experience. As we arrived, they had a decent parking outside the restaurant. They had a good amount of tables inside and out. We ordered Samosa Chaat, Sev Puri, and Aloo Paratha. The Sev Puri was my favorite. It had such a great texture and a perfect amount of kick in spice. The Samosa Chaat and Aloo Paratha were also very tasty. For drinks, we got the Mango Lassi which was very flavorful. They also do have water you are able to get on the side. The service was very helpful to answer any questions we had and brought out the food very quickly. I definitely would recommend this place as their food was super delicious and would try to come back in the future if I am ever nearby again!

Great spot for Indian snacks, we're a big fan of Dahi puri so this will be a new go to on rotation. They have a lot of different options and they are veg/vegan friendly. There's plenty of seating with a great outside space and the service was quick.

Prices are high for the quality of food. They serve you in plastic for $15 appetizers. If you just want Channa Bhatura - this is the place. But I made a mistake of ordering other things. The raw besan batter in paneer pakora was still present after frying. $4 for coffee? they mixed Nescafé + water + milk infront of me and gave it. Pav Bhajji was very mid. Aloo tikki chat was okay, nothing special. The ambience is also very outdated, the floor tiles make the place look from the 80's. The place needs serious upgrades if they're charging so high for their dishes.

I wouldn't bring someone without dietary restrictions here, but I think it's a perfect place to bring a vegan/vegetarian/meat-restricted person. They have a lot of good options here. The soups are relatively flavourful for vegan broths. The curry fried rice is delicious as well. I also appreciate the variety of drink options made with vegan milk substitutes. The service is pretty fast considering how busy it gets. Some of the workers can't speak much English, but it hasn't been an issue. The dosa is crisp and the fermented flavor is delicate. The filtered coffee is popular so I had to try it, and I love it. I'm not sure everyone would like it though. It's a strong coffee, slightly bitter even with sugar. The milk is poured with a long pull to create foam. The foam is light, not creamy or velvety like a latte. It's a very small portion in a small cup, and it's HOT, very HOT. I like it but I can see how other people might not. I was confused the first time I went in to eat because seating and ordering is not typical. When you first walk in, you go to the host and they'll give you a number then you walk to the room to your left to order and pay. You're given a chip if you order a coffee or tea and move over to the right. You give your chip to the person preparing the drinks for you. They ask your preference and hand over the very HOT drink. Then you sit at the table with your number on it. Your food is brought over fairly quickly. They bring extra sambar and chutney if needed, no extra charge. The dosa comes filled with turmeric spiced potato and on the side chutney (not my fave) and sambar which is so so good. You break a little dosa and dip and or scoop some of the sambar/ chutney. It's a casual setting and it gets pretty busy, especially on weekends. There are a ton of these types of restaurants and I'm pretty certain I've found the best one here!

Very efficient ordering process and delivered to your table. Tables are numbered. The filtered coffee is really good. We got it medium level (versus strong) with jaggerty (a type of sugar versus regular sugar). The coffee chef pours the coffee into small tin cups and then pours hot milk on top and tops it with frothy milk foam. My husband and I ordered a Masala Dosa which came with a white chutney and red chutney and sambar (soup); and a Mega Tiffin which had a more tightly rolled Masala Dosa (with potatoes, greens, onions inside, sambar, the 2 chutneys, 1 idyly (white bun), 2 vadais (donut shaped savory fritter), pongol (creamy grain - lentil and rice combo). I also had a mango lassi. The dosas were crisp and fresh and the filling was not too spicy for us. We really liked the dosas and the variety of other dishes that are also served. The coffee was very good. We had considered getting the Mylapore dosa, but the cashier mentioned it is spicy so we opted for the Masala one instead. Staff were friendly and helpful as we told them it was our first time there. We parked in the parking lot. Our server said often the parking lot is full and people park nearby and walk in. The restaurant was fairly full at that time with only a few tables available. Ambiance was casual and nice with high ceilings, booths or tables. We sat in a booth. Table was pretty and lots of natural light. You go in and get a table number. You take the menu and table card to the cashier and order. Then, you get your coffee and/order mango lassi (or other drink) and take it to your numbered table. A server brings your food out to your table.
