The manager uncle from Punjabi Bagh- Delhi was the sweetest, and serving staff were warm and welcoming, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout. Samosa chaat - A large samosa and chickpeas, swimming in the usual chutneys and yogurt. This dish was pretty good but it didn't wow me. Served in a paper bowl, it almost looked like a samosa soup. We were in the South Bay craving Pani Puri and searched Yelp for a spot with outdoor seating so our dog wouldn't have to stay in the car. Delhiwala Chaat came up nearby, and since they had a heated outdoor seating area and solid reviews, we decided to give it a try. The place was pretty busy, which is always a good sign. The menu was extensive, so we ended up moving away from the original Pani Puri plan and ordered the Methi Masala Puri and Chole Bhature instead. Both dishes were very flavorful and perfectly portioned -- enough to satisfy without leaving us with leftovers. I came here with a friend for pani puri and dahi puri around 3 pm and really enjoyed the fresh puris and the accompaniments. The service was quick and cordial, the parking spacious and the food was delicious. I noticed they had a full rack of Indian sweets which I will try out next time. This is my favorite chaat place at the moment. Went 2x this week as I felt too lazy to cook in this warm weather (no a/c at home). Dahi sev puri has it all. Crispy yet delicate puri, stuffed with boiled potatoes and chickpeas. Yogurt and 2 types of chutney brings a mix of savory, tangy , sweet and bit of heat. This is my go to dish. This most recent visit I decided to live on the edge and try something different and got the bread pakoras. This was really delicious as well. Potato and peas curry between sliced bread which is dipped in a batter made of chickpeas flour and flash fried. This felt like less heavy version of samosa. It's also served with date and cilantro sauces on the side. Casual ambiance, plenty of seating both indoor and out, fair amount of parking but have definitely seen it fill up during peak hours. read more

When I want to mix it up and get chaat somewhere besides Chaat Bhavan I come here. Mostly it's because their Chole Bhatura has no equal. My son (who is similarly enthralled by the bread) just calls that dish "the bread." Unfortunately the rest of the food isn't as good as "the bread." Here's a rundown of some of the dishes from my notes: Paneer pakora - Fine but wouldn't get again. Generous portion. Paneer paratha - Good Samosas - I thought they were dry but the husband really liked. Pav Bhavi - Good Aloo Tikki Delhi Style (no chole) - Consisted of patties with crumbled chips on top. A bit too sweet - the aloo is saturated with tamarind. Mango Lassi - Good but a bit small. This is a place where you order at the counter and find a table. We always sit on the patio. Delhiwala Chaat has the tiniest napkins imaginable and tiny water cups. It's obvious they're cutting corners where they can. As a customer who has to use these tiny napkins and repeatedly fill my tiny water cups, I can feel it. I'm not fond of the big container that everyone reaches inside to grab a spoon. It feels unsanitary. The prices are slightly higher than Chaat Bhavan. The counter service is never charming. Plus our order once was 20 minutes late and some items weren't hot. read more

As we arrived, they had a decent parking outside the restaurant. They had a good amount of tables inside and out. We ordered Samosa Chaat, Sev Puri, and Aloo Paratha. The Sev Puri was my favorite. It had such a great texture and a perfect amount of kick in spice. The Samosa Chaat and Aloo Paratha were also very tasty. For drinks, we got the Mango Lassi which was very flavorful. They also do have water you are able to get on the side. The service was very helpful to answer any questions we had and brought out the food very quickly. Prices are high for the quality of food. They serve you in plastic for $15 appetizers. If you just want Channa Bhatura - this is the place. But I made a mistake of ordering other things. The raw besan batter in paneer pakora was still present after frying. $4 for coffee? they mixed Nescafé + water + milk infront of me and gave it. Pav Bhajji was very mid. Aloo tikki chat was okay, nothing special. The ambience is also very outdated, the floor tiles make the place look from the 80's. Chole bhature - this place is known for this dish. The chole are not overly spiced and bhature are crisp, thick and a little oily (expected) i wish they would give a little more chole with these 2 bhatures as they are usually less i feel. Aloo tikki chaat - has the same chole over aloo tikkis with some chutneys over it. It's good. Bread pakoda - its good not great. I dont know for sure what will make it better. This is probably my favorite place to go to in the Bay Area for chaat. I've come here twice and loved the food both times. My all time favorite thing here is the Dahi Batata Sev Puri, it's somehow full of yogurt and delicious chutneys while still totally crispy on the outside. The bhel puri is also good and really generously portioned, especially if you add separate chutney to it. The chole bhatura is also pretty good. I've also had the veggie samosas which are good.
