I took my daughter to get double nose rings to have a chain go between them. First the lady complained my daughter was too picky because she didnt want gaudy or over the top jewelry. Then the lady couldn't figure out how to position the piercings straight and gave my a marking pen that wasn't working. The piercing ended up very crocked. I just had to take it out the next morning to allow it to heal over so she can get it done someplace else. I feel like for all the things this shop does, piercings isnt one that you should go here for. I stopped by to get a quick mani in between classes as there was a wait at the next door nail salon. The Indian lady was such a sweetheart which is why I feel bad writing this but my fingertips are still in pain. My nails were uneven, some long, some short. I had to ask her twice to make them round and even because I don't like square nails and were still uneven after she filed them. She used a new file on my nails, which would've been great if she hadn't cut me with it from filing soooo hard! Granted, my skin was a bit dry from the winter cold but even so, I've NEVER gotten cut by a file in my 10yrs of getting manicures. While she was working on my cuticles, she was pressing down super hard at the root of my nails "trying to do a good job" that I thought she was going to rip my nails off. This was by far the most painful manicure ever! Lastly - sanitation. She kept using the same 1/2in. piece of paper towel to clean the desk ANNNDDD to clean my fingernails. So many things wrong with this manicure and to think she was teaching another girl while she was torturing my hands. read more

My cousin had warned me not to go any longer because the OWNER Raki who threads our brows did a terrible job and also blamed her (my cousin) for her eyebrows coming out messed up... Today I went in and mind you the last time I had my brows done was 3 almost 4 months ago and they were done by her! So today I sat down in the chair and she started going to work I stood as still as I could while she viciously tore away at my eyebrow hairs... she stops and asks me if I had gone to someone else halfway through my threading I said no. she said are you sure I said I'm 100% sure don't you see how thick my uni brow is.... then she continues to say you move to much i get messed up. And also that I lost my eyebrow shape because they haven't been done in so long. Now lets stop right there I've gone months without doing my brows because they dont grow fast. NEVER IN my 19 years of getting my eyebrows done has any one ever told me that. The problem is she made a huge error And refused to acknowledge that she messed up. And I stood as still as I could with my eye burning and tears rolling down my face from pain.... definitely will NEVER take my business here again. I stopped by this place to ask whether they did eyebrows by razor. I was told that they only do waxing and threading. Due to past bad experiences with both waxing and threading, I said no thanks. However, the lady was very convincing that it would not hurt and that she would do a good job, AND it was ONLY $5. So, I got csuckered into getting them done. Let me start off by saying that, YES... it did hurt (...like hell), but the end result was AMAZING. It had been a long time since me eyebrows looked that clean and precise. The woman who thread my eyebrows and upper lip was definitely thorough, but she was SO rough when she thread my upper lip that she cut me in 3 places. Even the next day I have small scabs on my upper lip because of her. This place was simply a terrible experience. I went to a wedding and wanted natural looking individual mink lashes. The owner, who was the one applying the lashes was extremely rude and was changing prices different for each customer walking in. If I wasn't in the chair with the process already started I would have left. She charged 20 to remove the glue and 60 to apply the lashes. They were placed jagged and sparse with spacing between. I went around the corner to another place who said she fixes all of Raksha's poor work. Customers were poking me while I was in the chair asking if they could have their brows threaded while she was working on me. She just abandoned working on me and appeared very money hungry. She did NOT wash her hands or sanitize when she left me to work on other people. She is extremely dirty and is a health department nightmare waiting to happen. I came to radii today after years, and I SPECIFICALLY SAID, JUST CLEAN AND KEEP MY ARCH. Upon getting up from the seat, when I tell you my eyebrows were THINNED TO INFINITY AND BEYOND! -_- . No! No! No! The rat running across the room should have been a red flag but they reeled me in as I tried to make a polite exit. The nail polishes looked very cheap, old, and watered down with nail polish remover . My nail technician had to apply 4 coats in order to get decent coverage and I swear she was using a modified power drill to buffer and remove my cuticles....crazy. $25 down the drain and an hour and a half that I cant get back. I walked in this shop for the first to get my eyebrows done, and so far, the job was well done. I was also reeled into getting my hair relaxed there. WORST RELAXER EVER. It was a NIGHTMARE. It looks like they weave and braid, but relaxers is not their specialty. Amanda who applied my relaxer is an AMATEUR. She works very slow and the product started burning like hell before she was halfway done. They had the nerves to tell me that it was because I had scratched my hair when all I was doing was feeling my roots. I should have considered the warning signs that they were not qualified to do such work just by the way they tried to justify a potential burn before even starting. Who does that but somebody who is familiar with burning their clients.... AMATEURS. They have the nerves to sucker you into getting a service they are not qualified to deliver. In addition to Amanda being super slow in applying the product, she put the relaxer directly ON the scalp instead of applying it exclusively to the new growth. I have been relaxing my hair for 15 years and I have NEVER had my head burned like this. After this girl saw me in excruciating pain from the burning product, she took her sweet time to finally get the water running and rinse the product. She missed so many spots when she "rinsed" the product, I had to rewash my hair the next day with a neutralizing shampoo and this is wasn't a quick and smooth process. WORST RELAXER EXPERIENCE EVER. I don't even know if she got a license but she should not be certified for the "thing" she does. Finally, I sense that her slowness to relieve me with the water when I was in pain was malicious, and the neutralizing shampoo was very negligent. Do not trust this girl's competence to relax your hair. If I cared enough about myself, I would have run after the RAT run into the place. Upon reading the reviews, I realized that the rat must live there because I noticed a big hole by the shampoo station. And the place is indeed dirty. My hair did not smell good at all when I left the place. Love yourself, and treat your self to something decent. Also, there wasn't any relaxer in the shop when they tried to retain me to do it. What kind of hair salon that caters to women of color does not have relaxer on hand....? Obviously, relaxing must not be what they do, and I can tell you that they are not qualified to do it, at least NOT AMANDA. Finally, not only was the relaxer atrocious and done in an inexperienced manner, but they were extremely cheap with the product. She put only a tiny little bit that was "combing" through my roots. What a shame. Then, she had the nerves to tell me that the relaxer was $50 and that it would cost $10 more to set the hair!!! First of all, what she does is not worth paying for. I'm sure your little sister can do better. Second of all, this rat hole cannot possibly charge more than the professionals across the street from them.... Make sure you get a service they are competent to deliver if you re gonna get anything done from this place. They are very friendly but moreover, they are hustlers. They are all about money, not quality. And maybe I can understand because the filthiness of the place and the incompetence of the staff do not build a prosperous business. read more

PLEASE, please DO NOT go to this place for your eyebrows. The Indian lady who runs this place is rude and obnoxious. I would never have gone there if my usual eyebrow threading place (salon right at Willoughby and Jay street) or the one further down on Willoughby was open. Due to the holiday (July 4th) only this place was open and I REGRET I went there. She was very rough and harsh and bruised me while doing my eyebrows. I had red specs and above my right eyebrow, some of my skin was bruised - making it red and inflamed. I get my eyebrows done very often and have used this place a long time ago in the past. I understand that the skin can get irritated and inflamed, but this was bad. From other reviews, I learn that her name is "Rajshahi". While threading my eyebrows, she asked me what happened to my skin and I had no clue what she was talking about. After she finished threading, I saw what she was referring to and told her it wasn't like this when I got there. I couldn't believe her audacity - she refused it happened while she threaded my eyebrows! She made me show my eyebrows - or rather brought attention to it by asking the other African American women in the store to touch and see if this was something that could have just happened. I was totally enraged. I paid her what she asked for and then before leaving some people were walking in and I said aloud "please don't get your eyebrows done here!" Of course, they turned around and I sincerely hope you readers do the same. I believe I'm a reasonable person and such things happen with eyebrows, but I couldn't get over the fact that she didn't admit to it and didn't apologize. Absolutely no customer care.
