The service and ambiance is always great! I have been going here for years as their lunch specials and dinners were always delicious. Highly recommend lunch specials during the day if you're looking for cheap eats with good portion at a good price. Emily and Sean are always welcoming .

We were sitting outside at Main Street coffee and kept getting a whiff of delicious food from across the street... so of course had to go in and everything was great! We had the orange chicken, steak hibachi dinner, chicken fried rice, and nam chow.

Our party of 2 walked in around 8pm on a Saturday night and were seated immediately in a both by the festively-decorated bar. The restaurant was still fairly lively at that point of the night but it started to quiet the longer we were there. Our waitress was very attentive and prompt as well. We started our meal with a bowl of hot and sour soup, which was very comforting. We ordered a shrimp hibachi meal, which came with fried rice, stir-fried vegetables and a creamy zesty sauce. Even though it wasn't cooked in front of us it retained that familiar hibachi taste and freshness, though the fried rice was a bit bland. We also ordered a variety of maki and rolls, which are always 30% off for some reason but I don't mind at all! The sushi was great value, I would recommend coming here to fulfill your sushi cravings.

Raku Sakura is so underrated. They're my fave sushi place in the state at the moment, & I'll explain why. Quality: Consistent, always. Whether dine-in or takeout. Price: So doable. Dinner doesn't break the bank. I haven't found another place that's this good @ this price point. Staff: So charming. They work hard & are so appreciative when you tip. So, tip! Location: Tough parking sometimes but other than that, it's ideal. If you want an outing in EG, they're smack in the middle of the action. But also, it's great if you're just swinging by for takeout because it's mid-state. Vibes: Sorta luxury lounge vibes inside. Dress up or stay casual & you'll still fit in. Choose your own adventure. Recommended special rolls: Mango Tango, Valentine's, & Fantastic.

Chicken Hibachi fried rice with Hibachi Sauce and a side salad

This past Saturday I got takeout from Raku Sakura. I've gotten food from here numerous times and each and every time it's consistently delicious! In the past I've gotten Chicken Udon, a Hibachi plate, Chicken Hibachi fried rice or Sushi too. I've also only eaten in the restaurant a handful of times but I remember it being really nice in there, with cool vibes and a fun environment. The prices aren't expensive at all either. They have a section on their menu for Sushi that is consistently 30% or more. It's a great deal! The portions are very healthy sizes and again, the food is excellent. I feel like Raku Sakura is under appreciated. Is sort of a modern Japanese, Chinese fusion so-to-speak. Each an every time I've done takeout, the food is ready with 30 mins. Even at the busy times. So I'd say the service there is very quick and efficient! This past Saturday we did a takeout order of 4 dishes, called around 7, and the food was ready within 25 mins. Incredible! So what did I get this past Saturday? I got the Chicken Hibachi fried rice with a side of Hibachi sauce. Which, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Hibachi sauce!! First of all, it tastes incredible, and also it's a really nice touch to the Hibachi fried rice. Honestly, the sauce is good with almost anything from there! I've gotten the sauce with my Chicken Udon and it's also really tasty! It's a white/orange, semi-thick cream based sauce. The Hibachi fried rice also comes with a little side salad which I'm always super psyched for because I loveeeee the dressing! I'm, again, not sure what it is, but all I know is it tastes incredible! One thing tho is you don't get fortune cookies when you do takeout. I'm not sure if you get them if you eat in either as again, I've only eaten in the restaurant a handful of times. All in all, if you like modernized Japanese, Chinese food, I highly highly recommend you give Raku Sakura a shot! It's not too expensive and the portion sizes are very generous! It's on Main Street too, which is a fun place to walk around at night.

Food was very good and the price is typical. Would come back again. Did go for lunch so it was not very busy.

    Pad Thai
    Jarrell G.

Understand that I am rating the Pad Thai and what they call golden wings. I am open that maybe other things may be better. With that said, as you can see in the picture....... Boiled shrimp, unseasoned, overcooked noodles, greasy fried wings with thick unseasoned batter. I will admit that I am particular when it comes to food but this is objectively below the standard I'm sure any of the people in the kitchen would be on with. I will try them again in the future and update my review, if this was truly a one off.

    Chicken Tempura Roll
    Karla M.

I'm not the biggest fan of real sushi (does cooked sushi even count?) so my order was basic: a roll of chicken tempura and shrimp nime chow. I did enjoy the chicken tempura, very similar to shrimp tempura. I probably would've enjoyed shrimp tempura a little more just because traditionally it's had more flavor and a bit more juicy. But all other fillings were standard. The nime chow was okay. I think I might've gotten imitation crab meat instead of shrimp since it was had more of the brighter red/orange color. The peanut sauce helped with the flavors. If you come here during lunch, like most places it's cheaper but it's still well priced for dinner time. There's a parking lot on the side and street parking which is super convenient. The food came out super quick and our waitress was kind. The inside is a bit dark but I kind of liked it that way.

Tuna Pizza - needed some extra sauce or something to moisten the actual base and fish. Seemed dry.
    Syp V.

Was excited to try this place after scouring Yelp for good sushi in EG. It was between this place or a non-Japanese named restaurant. Lunch rolls were very disappointing. Fish wasn't fresh and rolls tasted dry. We got a few common rolls (spicy tuna, tuna and avocado, salmon I think, and Philly roll) off their lunch menu. For what seemed like an authentic Japanese spot (had heard dinner takeout was good), I'm pretty shocked at how terrible the quality of the rolls were. They seemed dry and the fish was not very flavorful. The tuna pizza appetizer was something we were looking forward to trying, but again, it was dry and needed some extra sauce or something to give it a little more punch and moisture. The only good part of my meal was the hot and sour soup. I thought they nailed the flavor and consistency, with a decent amount of contents (mushrooms and maybe some bamboo shoots?). Will not be returning for lunch but willing try their rolls again maybe during dinner when hopefully fish is fresher.

My sushi was so fresh and delicious with every bite. I got the Princess Roll & Chicken Tempura Roll.

The dishes are rich, occasionally greasy, but oh boy--are they packed with flavor! Curry, coconut milk, and spices play starring roles in most of the dishes. The fish soup? Absolutely delicious. It can be a gamble to try fish-based soup, but I trust how most Asians prepare it, so I went for it. No regrets! Here's what we enjoyed: Nanu Pork Dumpling: A sweet, scrumptious twist on a cooked sushi roll Mohinga: Fish-based soup with rice noodles, egg, cilantro, scallions, and fried split chickpeas (so delish!). Some awesome crispy appetizer (see pic) paired with hard-boiled eggs came as a side dish. The couple who own and run this spot are incredibly gracious, patiently walking us through what to expect from each dish. The wife is the head chef, and her passion shows in every bite. I believe they also do food truck events--I noticed their colorful van parked outside. This place is a must-try. Familiar yet different and oh-so-flavorful.

Place just opened when we went so we were quickly sat down as we were the only customer. The seating is limited as there are only 3 tables available. We ordered Burmese Milk tea, Fried chicken (Sweet), Nanu chicken dumplings, stir fried noodles, and Basil Chicken with rice. Fried chicken wings were crispy, sweet and savory. Nanu dumplings were topped with scallions , fried onions and spicy mayo and were delicious. Basil chicken was flavorful with hint of spice from basil. Stir fried was also topped with fried onions and was very flavorful as well. All the food did come with plastic containers so it's easy to take home if you have leftovers. First time trying Burmese milk tea and was good but I think I prefer Thai milk tea better. Overall the place was very good. Food was great, service was good and price was fair. Only downside was that the place is small with limited seating and the place was hot because it's summer and there is no AC. They have fan and we sat in front of it but was not good enough. I would order take out next time. Other than that it's a solid place.

The only real issue was the peanut avocado roll. The avocado was completely unripe and rock hard. We actually dropped a piece on the table and it made a loud "rock" sound. I honestly don't know how the roll was made without someone noticing how hard the avocado was. Unfortunately, they were not edible. The sushi itself was good, but some of the rolls were a little mushy, so if you're someone who is sensitive to texture, the Dynamite Roll and Triple Double Roll might not be your favorite. The spring rolls also lacked a little flavor. Overall, a decent experience, but the avocado issue was a big miss.

Dim sum is usually a brunch thing, but we were in the area for a movie and just wanted dim sum for dinner. The two of us ordered the congee with shredded pork and thousand year egg, bok choy, salty shrimp, and off of the dim sum menu: steam rice roll with shrimp, chicken feet, oyster sauce duck feet, siu mai x2, shrimp chive dumplings, and Chinese tea. Forgot to take a photo of the siu mai even though that's our favorite. We also asked for hot mustard and chili oil sauce because that's how my family has eaten dim sum and that's how we now continue to enjoy dim sum. Everything tastes as expected. The chicken feet were nice and soft and fell off the bone. The dishes weren't too salty. The salty shrimp was as advertised--salty and crunchy. The congee is a large portion because it's mostly rice and water, but I just really wanted it and it did not disappoint. The tea could have been more flavorful, it was quite light. Despite that, the tea is still a diuretic. We did end up taking some food as leftovers. The customer service was really fast and polite! The interior is pleasant with interesting decor (a spear/halberd? mounted on the wall). The table partitions are pretty tall so you don't see the other customers if they're seated adjacent. It wasn't very busy when we went on a Wednesday evening, and parking is no issue at all here. Overall a good place to get some Chinese food whether you're a party of two or a party.
