This was a Grub Hub order. To say am disappointed is an understatement. The soup oshumashi had more broth than anything else if I was sick it would have been great. The shrimp Shumai were so small I could hardly enjoy it, I got one piece of broccoli and one slice of carrot. This was definitely not worth the money. I will not order not got sit in this restaurant to dine. I have never written a a bad review nor given a one star but I am highly disappointed. There was so little food I have to find something to eat in my own place which defeats the whole purpose. The only good part was my uber driver was pleasant

Great sushi spot! We ordered a mix of things and it was all delicious. Service was also super fast! We will definitely be back!

This is a solid spot for sushi! We were seated in an "on the floor seating" area which was a unique and a nice experience for me. I do recommend this spot!

They have fantastic lunch specials- my go-to order is the chicken wakadori- either as the bento box for lunch or the classic dinner. The lunch bento box comes with rice, gyoza, soup and either a california roll or a cucumber avocado roll. The dinner comes with soup and salad and a few tasty noodles that have a sesame oil essence. I also love the yellowtail jalapeño sashimi appetizer. Cozy interior- great for dine in or takeout! It's also BYOB with a $2/per person fee. There is floor seating in addition to tables/booths with fast and friendly service. *tip: Campus Fine Wines is right up the street if you want to grab some beer, wine or sake- just remember, liquor stores close early on Sundays in Rhode Island.

I finally came around to trying Sakura in Fox Point and was so impressed with the quality of fish and presentation. I got the lunch special that came with two rolls, one salmon nigiri, and tuna nigiri. Highly recommend!

This is an east side/ Wickenden staple. It has been serving for over 20 years. Fun floor seating, great BYO drinks.

We went kinda hard for sushi night last week, & Sakura absolutely nailed it. We ordered: - Hot Babe Roll - Tiger Roll - Spicy Tekka Roll - Spicy Hamachi Roll - Avocado Cucumber Roll - Rainbow Roll We called at 6:30 & the person on the phone estimated that the order would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived in about 20 minutes, & our order was ready. It's hard to pick favorites, because all of the rolls were SO good, but I think the Hot Babe Roll, the Rainbow Roll, & the Avocado Cucumber Roll came out on top. "But an Avocado Cucumber Roll is so boring, how could it be your favorite?" ... You may ask. Well they always use perfectly ripe avocado, it's rolled tightly, & it's so fresh. It's the perfect palate cleanser between other specialty rolls. No Sakura order is complete without an Avocado Cucumber Roll. It's also $6.00 so, why not?

I've been so on the fence about posting, because for almost a decade Sakura was my favorite lunch spot in Providence, but ultimately the illness I got after eating here warrants this review. The last time I came here I ordered the sashimi dinner. It came with several kinds of raw, "fresh" fish. I noticed that the tuna looked particularly vibrant in color, but-- because I have come here so often and for so long-- I brushed this off and ate it anyways. I now suspect that the tuna was colored to cover up for the fact that it was spoiled. Within hours, I started feeling off. What ensued was nearly 50 hours of fever, vomiting, body aches, and general disaster. "Acute food poisoning." I have never been so sick. I will never go back. When I recovered, I called to inform them but was unable to reach a human. I will never recommend Sakura again. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen, but it cannot be code compliant. This one experience was so terrible it has cancelled out the years of lunch specials, dinners, and birthday parties I have had here. Be warned.

I consistently crave Sakura's sushi! Last visit I ordered the Lunch Bento, which costed only $18 for shrimp, rice, dumplings and a roll. I think a pretty good deal! My food was delicious I always find the shrimp here so good. The sushi is fresh and the Red Sox roll is always a hit! My family and I always enjoy the floor seating option, which gives the meal a whole new experience. Staff are always nice also.

I had high hopes for my lunch here but it missed the mark. First off, it was around noon on a weekday and the restaurant was mostly empty (maybe 3 tables including mine) but I heard the phone ringing and people coming in and going out so I'm guessing they were focusing on takeout orders. A table of 3 near me received their food and very slow waves. Their sushi took forever. They were vocal amongst themselves on how unhappy they were with the service and I can't blame them. It was extremely slow and basically nonexistent. I ordered the Kari udon or curry udon with chicken. There were so many vegetables I could barely pull the noodles out from underneath to eat them. Also there were so many vegetables it was like a blanket over the broth and the broth had no chance in hell to cool and so I burned my mouth the entire time I ate it because I had to get back to work and had already been waiting a while for me food and had to time to waste quite frankly. Additionally, it was only so-so. I was not very impressed and thought the food I had was pretty forgettable. I wouldn't really bother coming back, which is sad because like I said I had high hopes.

First time trying the jalapeño yellowtail. It was super light and definitely would order this again. We come here specially for the squid and scallop nigiri. Salmon teriyaki was bomb. Udon Suki was also light and flavorful.

i've been down wickenden sooo many times and can't believe i never paid attention. what a cute cozy sushi spot. i regret not doing floor seating but will next time! our server was so kind and patient with us as we kept ordering and deciding in between plates if we wanted more. i will say the savory entree was okay, no regrets, but not the main star of the show. the sushi was definitely fresh and yummy. miso soup was also a good warm option to open up with. also their tea came in a tea bag so i asked for miso soup instead and they were really nice about it. will be back :)

3.5 stars Decent sushi with a cute interior. I tried the crab rangoon, shrimp shumai, and the four seasons roll. Sushi was better than the apps, in my opinion. The crab Rangoon were small and quite light on the crab. The shrimp shumai were a bit soggy with a strong orange sauce that tasted artificial. The four seasons roll was tasty, but I wish they didn't pound the spicy salmon so much, but I guess that's the nature of spicy salmon. There wasn't that much mango in the roll, but it was tasty regardless. The interior was really cute and would be good for a date. They also have this room for larger parties with cool seating. Overall, this place is one of the only sushi restaurants around fox point, and it definitely scratches the sushi itch.

I ended up going alone this time, but I came back with enough leftovers and commentary to share that the whole experience could easily be pieced together in anyone's head pretty clearly. The first thing that stands out is the setup. It's casual in the best possible way. Nothing pretentious, nothing overworked. You walk up, order, wait a bit, and then suddenly you've got seafood in a paper tray that somehow tastes like summer even when you're wedged into a busy city block instead of sitting by the water. There's a kind of controlled chaos to it, especially during peak hours, but it moves. I went with the absolute classics without hesitation: a fried fish sandwich and a side of fries, plus a lobster roll that, frankly, looked like it was built for someone who doesn't believe in restraint. The fish sandwich was the standout. Crisp coating, flaky inside, not greasy in that heavy way that ruins a good fry. The bun held together without collapsing into mush, which is always a small victory in a city seafood spot. The fries were solid, nothing revolutionary, but they did their job without trying to steal attention from the main event. The lobster roll was more of a classic Rhode Island style than anything over-complicated. Generous chunks, lightly dressed, and not drowned in filler. It leaned into freshness rather than gimmicks, which is exactly what you want when you're this close to the water. It didn't feel like it was trying to reinvent anything, just execute the basics well enough that you stop thinking about it and just eat. What I like about places like this is that they don't overpromise. Dune Brothers isn't trying to be a white-tablecloth seafood restaurant, and it doesn't need to be. It's quick, it's reliable, and it feels like it belongs in downtown.

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Only reason I'm giving 1 star still is because the waitress was very nice and what happens in the kitchen is not her fault! I think her name is (Katy?) I can't remember exactly but she was super nice! We got there for 11:30 reservation. Waited 15 minutes before we were seated which I didn't love already because there's no waiting area and nowhere to sit where the restaurant is so you have to stand around waiting for the table. Well by the time we left there I finally understood why we had to wait another 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We ordered our food and drinks and got our drinks fairly quick but the food took way too long considering that it's breakfast items and they didn't have that many tables to begin with even including inside dining. Our pancakes took almost 40 minutes to come out and our sides never even came out with the pancakes which I thought was weird. The sides didn't come out for another almost 15 minutes. By the time everything was out my son was getting fussy so I just asked for everything to be packed up to go. The high chair was also dirty and oily with food still on the sides and not cleaned at all. I was talking to the family that sat next to us because the waiter who brought out their food messed up and brought their sides to another table dropped it off then found out the food was not at the right table and brought it straight to the right table after it's been sitting at the wrong table for a few minutes at that point! That family also said they waited a really long time for their food and their food didn't all come out at the same time either so it seems like this is normal. I also went to ask the hostess how much longer for our food before our pancakes came out few minutes later. She asked me how long it's been since I put in my order I said about 30 min already and she said oh that's sounds about right. So that just proves that food normally take this long to get out to the table! I'm used to way shorter wait times for breakfast foods this just didn't seem normal to me. Let's get to the food! I had the original pancakes with the blueberry and strawberry, got a side of scrambled eggs, sausages, and home fries. For drinks I got a fresh orange juice and my sister got the Dubai chocolate latte. The Dubai chocolate latte was delicious and so was the orange juice but definitely over priced for the portion size, but I guess it's acceptable being federal hill prices for most people? Personally I thought it was way overpriced not just the drinks but everything considering the proportions. The pancakes were ok didn't taste as eggy as I expected being that it's supposed to be more egg based which is totally fine the texture was good. The strawberries on top I thought were going to be fresh strawberries but it seems like it's more of a compote. The scrambled eggs were a little too charred for my liking I've never really had scrambled eggs charred before. Potatoes were ok for the most part in terms of flavor but my sister had some that were still kinda undercooked and hard. The sausages were really flavorful. Overall I don't think we'll be returning or recommend this place for the breakfast at least. Way overpriced and not worth the hype.

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.
