Chicken lo mein, sesame chicken, fried rice, crab rangoons
Lindsay C.

Ordered takeout and it was great!! $21 for lo mein, fried rice, sesame chicken, and four crab rangoons, which seems like an excellent price. Takeout was fast and easy. Everything was excellent except that the rice was quite dry. Would definitely order again, though maybe sub the rice for something else.

Friendly welcoming, chill atmosphere and delicious food! We had miso soup, edamame and some sushi rolls. My husband and I both enjoyed our lunch date here today! I didn't know it was open because you can't tell from the street, but there's parking in the back and you can enter from the street or the back parking lot. Very popular place for takeout! Recommend you try them out!

Wonton soup

Nice building. Lots of light. Very clean. The wonton soup was nice with lots of big wontons. The fried rice was a bit dark and salty for my taste. The spare ribs also had too much sauce. They were very dark. The chicken dishes were much better. With lots of vegetables. Nice smiley service.

Salt and pepper calamari

Have tried Dragon Palace in Coventry a few years back and wasn't too impressed. Decided to give the North Kingstown location a try. Large restaurant appearing to be a nice clean open space. There is plenty of parking in the back. The food is ok. I was disappointed by the $17 salmon teriyaki dish. The piece of salmon was very generous, but it was so overcooked that you needed a sip of water with each bite to swallow it. Also ordered calamari which was very bland and had no crispiness to it.

Hunan Chicken You get more food than this. I just put my leftovers in this container. Love all the veggies in it. Would order it spicier.

We have ordered here probably 4 times now. Always consistent. I tried the hunan chicken this time and LOVED all of the veggies in it. Will 100% be getting it again, but with more spice. My husband loves the orange chicken and it has actual orange peel on it....so you know it's legit. Did you know you can get a scorpion bowl for 2 to go? You should add that too your order...you won't regret it. You wouldn't expect a Chinese restaurant to have sushi...or good sushi for that matter. Well they have great sushi and I've ordered it multiple times. I love that added option! This is our go to Chinese takeout spot!

Smallest sushi ever, and white tuna kind of mushy

We made the 1hr and 15min ride from Fairhaven Ma. Order was placed Tuesday for Saturday pickup with instructions of how they do it...freshly made which was apparent. We got the Spicy Yo Po Noodles, Chicken Jin Jin's and Pork buns. Pickup was easy and we took our food to Tower Hill Brewery which was 8 minutes away and had excellent beers and Seltzer. To the food...everything was excellent! Yo Po noodles stole the show, the sauce is like nothing I've ever had. Downright delicious! 2nd for us were the Chicken Jin Jin's. Probably 2 orders next time. Last in our opinion were the Pork Buns. Hear me out...I love pan fried Peking Raviolis! I order them every time I order Chinese food. These buns were delicious, with the pillow like bun. However, they are similar to Peking Raviolis, just a thicker wrapper. Will we make the trek again...absolutely! Will we make the trip again? Absolutely!

Once inside turn right into the bar area, then turn left to the hostess stand at the back. We were seated in a large booth that looks newly upholstered. Everything in the dining room looks to be in good condition. The menu is large and include both 'lunch combination plates' which are smaller portions and 'combination plates' which include more food. You can also order family style or al la carte. The waitress came over with waters, duck sauce and fried wonton to munch on while you look over the menu. That sauce on those wonton are a tasty, sweet snack. She took our drink order and answered a couple of questions about the menu. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My husband tells me this hot and sour soup is his favorite. I don't eat that, so I can't expand. My combination meal includes a soup and I ordered the egg drop soup because it is a vegetable broth. It tastes like. . . egg. I guess that's right? I've never had it before. The spring roll with my combination meal was crispy and filled with veg. The mixed veg meal was loaded with pea pods, water chestnut, mushroom, carrot and cabbage. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. Although combo meals normally come with pork fried rice, they do allow substitutions and I got the vegetable fried rice instead which was very nice. The ladies room, is off the dining room, before the kitchen. Step down into an area with a counter and mirror. I don't remember a diaper station. The toilet and sink are in a room off this area. The door is misaligned and you have to pull the door UP in order to engage the door knob locking mechanism. Otherwise anyone can just walk in on you. I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and this one is good. It's been around for a long while and my SO loves it. I cannot recommend it for Christmas Eve as they limit the selections (in order to handle the volume, I understand, but I can't get what I need) but for lunch, dinner or take away, it's a fine choice.

Would not order the sesame chicken again. It came swimming in liquid and was therefore goopy and a…read moreterrible texture. The rice and wonton soup were pretty good, and the serving size was good for the price.

It is rare to find a place that maintains such high quality for so long, but they truly deliver. The crab rangoons were so delicious to start! I'm normally not a huge fan of lo mein but my family wanted it. I was surprised how tasty it was. The General Choi's chicken and fried rice were both phenomenal! They built a new bar which is a great addition. We had the scorpion bowl for two which was delicious and packed a punch! The service is always professional and attentive, but our most recent visit was particularly special. The owner's wife stopped by our table to chat with us for a while; she was incredibly kind and made us feel like more than just customers. It's that level of genuine hospitality that keeps us coming back. If you are looking for great food and a welcoming atmosphere, I cannot recommend this place enough!

The General Choi's Chicken was delightful for my partner but one has to love spicy food and he does! However, he was not thrilled with the white rice because he felt it was very dry. My combination plate consisted of an egg roll, fried rice, and Chicken Lo Mein. The egg roll was not my style but the fried rice was mouth-watering!. I also enjoyed the Lo Mein noodles, yet, I would eliminate the chicken in the future as it seemed a bit chewy. The Cathay Garden menu offers a large number of choices so there are many more to be tried in the future!

Very disappointed in the experience but the decor was really nice and I've been wanting to try this place out since my friends had a galentines day event here after our spa day but I had to go home so I didn't make it to the restaurant until today. Food was okay, the calamari taste like fish sticks and my husband and kids like fish sticks but I don't so I didn't eat that. My philly roll was okay but my husband and kids all loved their rolls so it's always nice when your kids are satisfied with the food. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'd give this place another chance because it is 5 minutes away from my house but the service and overall experience was mid. The orange chicken was good nothing special so I was happy about that. I will add that the lychee sangria was probably my favorite part of this whole meal so if you want good drinks, this is your place!
