    Tofu vegetable soup

Dear Yelp, When will half star ratings be a thing ? I want to put a 4.5 star here, and having to chose to shoot over or under my desired rating might make me lose some sleep. Anyway. The meal was delicious . We loved the sushi rolls, soup, and the udon was Incredible. I kind of regret letting my Boyfriend take my leftovers, that's how good it was. Although the restaurant was pristinely clean, and nicely decorated, the ambience could've been improved by some softer lighting, and friendlier wait staff. Will certainly return here, as the food is too good to miss.

Our favorite sushi place, we have been ordering out since Covid and the food is just as good in our home as well as in the restaurant. We are so very lucky to have such a high-quality sushi restaurant in Ringwood!

This is our local sushi place within a 10 mile radius of our house. There are more but we tend to go with this one. Their sushi are works of art. The menu is extensive for such a small place. It is tucked away in a small strip mall near Stop n Shop supermarket.. The rolls are delicious and so are he appetizers. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I'm working on it !

    Kani mayo.

After dining in several times before and loving it, we decided to grab some take out. Disappointment does not come CLOSE to describing the meal. I was previously unaware that "bland" was an adjective capable of describing sushi, but evidently, it's fitting for the sushi at Raku. Spicy yellowtail is normally a delightful light fish with a hint of spice. The roll looked and tasted like fish mayo and had a terrible mouth feel. Same went for the spicy tuna roll. The spider roll, was also bland. The crab was overly fishy and not delicate and sweet like fresh soft shell crab is supposed to be. Kani salad was a blob of mayo with slight resemblance to the crab meat salad that is supposed to be Kani salad. The only edible, tasteful thing on the table was the seaweed salad. $40.00 later and we are still hungry and epically disappointed. Sushi gone wrong. Maybe it's because it was take out, but what an awful waste.

Spicy Tuna Martini! Delicious and exploding with flavor

The Pros: Great Sushi at a decent price. The Cons: I played push the booth with another guest (booths are back to back). I won and ate his newly arrived food as he watched in horror. Would I Go Back? Yes, yes I would. Why? Because the tuna martini is the bomb and I'm pretty sure I can live off of it. The rolls were also well done but I cant stop craving the spicy tuna martini.

Been to Japan and this is fairly comparable - although not managed by Japanese I believe. Wouldn't go any other place locally.

Solid local sushi spot with a chill vibe…read more Sushi and Sashimi Special ($75) - This party platter comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece spicy tuna naruto roll, and 6 piece california roll. I think it would be enough to feed 2 people, but if you have more than that, you probably want to order another roll or two. Everything here was pretty good. The fish seemed average freshness. The naruto roll was unique with cucumber around the outside, though the tuna was not really spicy. I specifically thought the sea bream (white fish) sashimi was good, as it had a creamy taste and consistency. Julie Roll ($15) - This roll was delicious, with a nice combo of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna in one roll. In addition, there was mango for some sweetness, avocado, and cucumber in there. It was topped with red fish eggs and had a soy wrapper around it, which made it a little unique. Beauty and Beast Roll ($15) - This is sort of a 2-in-1 roll, as half of the pieces have tuna on top and half have avocado on top. There is also shrimp tempura inside along with cucumber and eel. Another tasty roll. The restaurant has a very chill vibe inside. There were a couple others dining in as well for Sunday lunch. The staff are super friendly and even gave us a side of edamame on the house. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, if you are in the mood for some sushi (either dining in or take-out), I think Nigiri Sushi would be a very good option, particularly if you are in the Franklin Lakes area.

When I arrived, I was absolutely in love - with every detail. I had no idea this place would impress me so much. It was intimate, I counted maybe 8 -10 tables. The sushi was being made right there in front of us. The servers were top notch and knew when to check in and when to leave us to chat. The food was beautiful cooked and plate. Presentation makes a difference!! My friend& I both got miso soups and the premier bento box which came with SO. MUCH. FOOD - an udon soup, California roll, dumpling, choice of appetizer and choice of entree. I went with crispy rice with salmon and teriyaki chicken. 1000000/10 Sushi Bada is a chain so I dying to go to the closer location. Thank you for the best lunch date!

I waited and it took about 10 minutes to fill the empty glass from the bottle placed in front of me. A soft shell crab roll with pollack (fake crab) and fried shell skin empty legs, no softshell crab body, and w t f ROMAINE LETTUCE okaaay. There was scant rice and every bite fell apart. Did they use discarded crabs legs from an appetizer? Cucumber avocado roll had just enough rice to qualify as a roll. The "low sodium" soy sauce was watered down. Anyone with eyes can see that. Okaaay. Won't be back.

Seoul Express is the local hidden gem everyone dreams of finding. And I wish I lived closer! We're…read morenot locals, we were in the area for an estate sale. However, we do love Korean food and search it out from Connecticut to Delaware. In fact, I love Korean food so much that, while I'm a vegetarian, I will always try the Korean BBQ when we find a new place (sorry cows). Follow up visits, I go back to tofu options. Anyway, Seoul Express is more like the newer casual type of KFood that's become very common in the NY metro. Geared towards takeout with just a couple of tables, the menu is paired down to bowl style meals with mainly Korean flavors, with a few other options thrown in--such as poke bowls. My husband and I got the Japchae (sweet translucent noodles with vegetables and bulgogi beef and the Dolsot (hot stone) Bibimbap which is an option if you eat in. Both were excellent. The Japchae was very much more of a commercial American taste than a traditional sit down old school K restaurant--if you've ever had it at a BonChon Chicken you know what I mean. But the hot stone bibimbap was amazing. Exactly like my favorite version of the dish ever at a small family Korean restaurant in a Parsippany strip mall that unfortunately didn't survive Covid. The accompanying goojujang (spicy red mixing sauce) comes in a small takeaway container but they're happy to give you more if you're the type who likes to squirt half the ketchup bottle of the stuff into your bibimbap (like me). Bergen county has amazing KFood options and we drive there all the time from Hunterdon County just to get some. Seoul Express just put Passaic County on the KFood map. And being casual, the prices are reasonable. You have no excuse not to try it.
