Worst Shumai and Spicy Miso ever ever. The spicy miso tastes over diluted, no taste of miso. Hence it tastes like tap water, too much chili flakes, why they put the chili flakes in watery spicy miso no idea. Shumai is nice and crispy but so tiny does not taste like shrimp or pork in it. I hated the taste of the Miso tried it twice I gagged. The pork did not taste roasted at all. The pork was such a big let down. I could not continue. I just paid, left a tip for they did a service. I do not recommend this place all, at all please don't come here just go to another place. The ambience is ok looks good but I do not recommend the spicy miso and the shumai. I will not be going back to try anything else on the menu.. You have been warned. Maybe they need a new cook or get rid of spicy miso altogether. Further more the vegetables in the spicy miso were just regular steamed spinach. To add the whole this just tasted stale with no aroma. Yelp should allow half a star or zero. The Takoyaki was good but the Thai Tea wasn't good at all for about $5 drink, it was too small and taste like a powder drink. Solid 3/5 ramen spot in the area. My friend and I stopped in to try on a Friday night and had no issues getting seated or getting service. Things I enjoyed: - service was great! No complaints at all - the ambiance is pretty cool and what one would expect from a ramen restaurant (good music, moody aesthetics, etc) - wasn't super crowded and food came out quickly. As a ramen enthusiast, I wasn't super impressed with the spicy miso ramen. The pork was flavorful and the noodles seemed fresh, but I wish some of the other ingredients had more depth to their flavors. Would I stop back in...maybe. I've been to Rakuichi Ramen with friends a couple of times now, and it isn't a hard place to enjoy. It lacks that oomph to put it in a five-star category, but most of the dishes easily satisfied me more than your average takeout. There are a few ramen specials that stand out, like the niku-yaki and kimchi ramens. Those were also pretty good, but I think the broth could stand to have more flavor. Lots of the flavor from the niku-yaki came from the meat, and the chicken ramen I had was bland in comparison because it DIDN'T have any sauce. Many of the crispy chicken dishes are covered with these teriyaki-ish and special (creamy orange) sauces, which add plenty of flavor but make me feel like I'm eating something out of a ShopRite pre-made Asian foods section. It's barely ever crowded when I go, and the service is pretty prompt. Never had an issue with the place so far. I'd give it a try if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make it a must-stop. read more

My review is based on the food only as my wife grabbed some takeout from Rakuichi; I have not been physically inside the restaurant. Knowing my affinity for ramen, pork and spicy food she grabbed me the Spicy Tonkotsu. The broth was served in a separate deli container which is great; this way everything didn't turn to mush on the drive home. Everything was arranged nicely in a separate bowl and looked great. The ramen is a curly noodle with is typically served with a thicker broth such as tonkotsu. The do put corn in this ramen, I'm personally not a fan although I know it is very common in the northern parts of Japan. This is where my wife loses a star in the rating not the restaurant, the corn is in the description so it can easily be made without. Anyways, the deli container the broth is served in is a pint, at first glance it seemed like a lot. After pouring maybe half of the container on I confirmed my suspicions. Either more noodles or less broth, in this case I would say less broth. The broth looked good, a milky white color, but the flavor was lacking. After seasoning it a bit more I could taste the flavors of the tonkotsu but it still seemed one note. It did have a good kick of heat from the chili oil so I know my stomach is going to be thanking me later! The pork belly was decent, the noodles were fine, the bamboo shoots worked, but nothing really set it off as a "great" bowl of ramen. It wasn't bad by any means and I would have it again but not go out of my way for it. read more

We stopped here to get ramen and really enjoyed the food. It was empty when we walked in on a Saturday evening so I was a little nervous. However the service was great, we got our food quickly, and people trickled in as we were eating. We got the chasu ramen, kimchi beef ramen, and a custom ramen with crispy chicken (side), nori (side), corn, and seaweed wakame. I love it that they are very flexible and are willing to swap out some of the items from the set bowls (you can get a different vegetable if you don't like what is in there). They have the perfect ratio of toppings and noodles, which I appreciate because I hate it when places are stingy with toppings and you're just eating a bowl of noodles. The chasu was so good! They grill the pork right before so it is flavorful and caramelized. Everyone wanted more of the chasu. We tried the kimchi beef based on our server's recommendation. I am not typically a kimchi fan but the combination of flavors worked very well together. The chasu is better than the beef though. They were out of the niku-yaki ramen but that sounds good and something I'd like to try next time. Great spot or ramen! Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area! read more

I got the chasu one with traditional tonkastsu broth. It was a little salty, but overall very delicious. I got it to go and was a little late so by the time I got home, the broth was a lukewarm. I was starving but I should've heated up the broth again, I'm sure it would've been even more delicious. I would love to return and try the other options. For appetizers we got the chicken kara-age - Japanese style fried chicken thigh with spicy mayo/eel sauce and wow it was SOOOOOOO GOOD & Chashu pork bun - also fantastic!! For ramen, I got a spicy pork tonkotsu - pork was extremely soft and the broth was very flavorful! My boyfriend got the chashu ramen and he also loved it, he finished the entire bowl (including soup) and normally he doesn't drink the soup if it isn't great. We've been to 3 different ramen places in the past week and this was definitely the best one. Also another plus - this place is very well priced. Chashu Ramen Roasted chashu pork belly, fish cake, half cooked egg, bamboo shoots, black fungus, green onion, black garlic oil in house tonkotsu broth. I throughly enjoyed my meal. The broth was placed separate container. I did appreciate that it was in a separate container. I also wish there was more broth. I also wish there was a bit more noodles and a bit more of the ingredients. The soup was delicious. After everything I have said. I will order take out again. I also plan to visit the restaurant. My children and their friends have visited this new Ramen place. The main complaint they have- the broth when served need to be piping out. Soup should be temperature hot. Yes, I know my ramen and I have been to top ramen places in DC but I am not boogie by any means; I also enjoy frozen Japanese ramen from Hmart! So there were only three other table and we were the first table to get our food (2 bowls of ramen) after waiting 55 MINUTES! We inquired about the wait time after waiting 40 minutes and the server told us that he will bump up our order (aka cut in front of the table that came before us) and start on our order "right now". WHATTTTTTT!!!!! What do you mean you will get our order ready now?!?! What were you doing for the last 40 minutes?!?! We were the second table there and dude!!!!! It takes 10 minutes max to make ramen and you got FIVE PEOPLE in the kitchen!!!!!! You got the broth already going in the pot so all you do is boil the darn noodles, pour broth over it then put appropriate toppings on them!!!! So bottom line, your ramen is watered down, broth smells weird and I had better experience with 99 cent cup o'noodles!!!!! Also, you gave me a used menu that was marked off by a prior customer (not so sanitary during the pandemic), did not get us our utensils, and disappeared for the entire 40 minutes that we (along with three other tables) were waiting in hunger! We didn't have to wait too long, but it was longer than expected. I agree that the ramen could use more veggies and other toppings, so doing the make your own ramen option may come in handy. Also, you can add additional toppings. Overall, a decent variety of food, okay service and price. I enjoyed the brown sugar bubble tea the most. I was surprised at how good it was. Such a surprise. Located near a ski shop in Montgomeryville, it is a hidden gem. Everything was so full of flavor. The tonkatsu broth was rich and the ramen was cooked right. On a cold winter day, decided to check this Ramen shop out. Entrance seems to be not so nuch room; but once inside, quite large space. Ordered Chashu Ramen - pretty basc to try out at a new place. Menu had quite selections not only variety of Ramen dishes but also other menu items as well. Ramen bowl was served fairly quickly despite quite customers inside. First look of the bowl...wow, generous amount of broth. Everything got submerged into...and floating on. Soup temperature was good - hot enough for my taste. Broth I believe was Tonkotsu based shoyu style; but dud not feel thickness or depth, rather weak for my taste. Good thing was the Chashu pork slices were thick and generously 3 slices. Taste however was little too salty. Half boiled egg was good; so was bamboo shoots. Quite amount of Kikurage mushrooms in apparently...I could not see full amount at a glance. Noodle was medium thickness with some curls, not straight. The amount was rather small as I felt after quickly finished slurping noodles. Overall, not bad Ramen bowl...but not great. My husband and I have been here twice now and the food was absolutely great! We are huge foodies and though not picky, have pretty high standards. Their portions are about the same as most other more traditional, upscale ramen places. They are by far the best ramen in the area, the only other place I like is in doylestown so it's so great we finally have some good ramen close by. As they just opened recently, our first visit being in their first week, they are experiencing some new restaurant growing pains. They were incredibly busy with takeout as well as having every table full and so the service was very slow. The second time we went they had increased their staff but again, dealing with a ton of take out orders and a full house, service was still on the slower side but much improved from our first visit. The menu was great and my spicy tonkatsu ramen was incredible. Loved the pork buns as well. Highly recommend I would just warn that you should be prepared for a longer than average wait time on your food if you're reading this shortly after my posting date. I have no doubt that as they get in the groove, the wait time will be eliminated. Just a part of the process when you're a brand new business feeling things out.
